The desire to play as an Admech character, or perhaps a tech adept, has often been raised on these forums.
In honor of @brosgw and the crafting memorial, I will make some attempt to achieve the requests. However, I am not as active as he is, and so I’d like to ask those who have made requests to help keep this alive until we get a playable admech character of some kind.

Since the game is offline for a day, and I’m already in withdrawal for my lasgun, even with the awful overcocking, I have time to come to the forums and talk about things I want.
I want a Skitarii for fifth class. Skitarii were featured a bit in the top down tactical game Mechanius.
Now, the biggest objection to it is that it would be weird for a skitarii reject to not be recycled in house by the machine cult, but I imagine there could be some sort of explanation written in.

We’ve been talking about getting Fat Shark to add an admech class for a long time. I’ve pushed for a Skitarii, and I very much want Skitarii.
Maybe we’ll get them, prob not, but just for fun, what kind of dialogue exchanges would you expect to see? I’ll start with a couple I put in another thread.

We’ve been buying DLC classes in Vermintide 2. I think we should offer it for the Skitarii class.

Now, I understand Games Workshop licenses specific segments of w40k, and Fat Shark might need to buy a license for admech stuff beyond a few tech priests standing around.
And maybe if they don’t have that license yet, a demonstration of willingness to buy said DLC might be an indicator of it’s profitability.

It would be like having a Pyro (TF2) or R2D2 on the team, with none of the other characters having anything to go on but tone (except other Skitarii, characters with Forge-world backgrounds and us the players), with only shoutout (ammo, look-here etc) being done in both binary and in a weirdly-tuned machine-voice (think Stephen Hawking).
They could also switch to machine-voice when it has had its fill with the other characters, kinda like when Hadron talks down to the players.

Now I know that the characters in game have been chatting up about a Ratling and while I’d love another class that Isn’t a Zealot (I’m just not a fan of the class but I can appreciate the near instakill of their abilities), I can’t help but think of something stepping away from the Abhuman and into the Transhuman… A menial Skitarii isn’t much in terms of Independent Operation but that might be what makes a playable class of one much different… While it would bend the Lore a little it’s not exact…

I’ve been playing Drarktide for a few weeks, and I found it very fun, although I think many more things can be implemented, among which would be the idea that occurred to me for this post.
My suggestion is to add a new class that would be the Skitarii as a kind of rebel or infidel to the machine god of the mechanicus cult itself, but instead of being killed or turned into a servant, he was sent to the penal battalions of the inquisition.

I think this idea has some great potential and I’ve even come up with some vague ideas for the 3 personalities.

A classic servitor with dozens of texts, hymns and prayers to the omnissiah downloaded so that it can still communciate with the others.

Many of these servitors may not be the highest quality and may in fact be sent down to aid these suicide missions as a useful way of disposing of glitchy/broken/malfunctioning servitors who weren’t mind wiped properly. The lost …

Buddy and I were spitballing and this is what we came up with. We aren’t super deep in the lore so apologies in advance.
Rogue Trader and Skitarii.
Rogue Trader would act as a support, being able to creat pockets of breathing room while providing hefty supplmental damage.
Lore wise, the RT could have been double crossed by a Governor, maybe even by the one of Atoma. Imprisoned for bringing the governor some of their preferred libations because they didnt want to pay.

Edit: After reading the comments whilst the reason I suggested the Skitarii was mainly down to looks, it would make more sense from a lore perspective to swap it to a Tech Adept. However, a workaround when it comes to the Skitarii being neuro-synced is that it could have just been damaged and thought inoperative or could be neuro-synced to Hadron Omega-7-7 already on board the ship.

I suspect a new class would come… After PS5 and after crafting update… So maybe by December. As a DLC. At the earliest. 2025 December just to be safe.

I love that idea but i dont see it happening, arent admech “people” too important same for the Skitarii.
My suggestion is some sort “in between” like a servitor?

Servitor would be pointless. As they don’t really introduce many exclusive things.
And Admech Reject (and also Sister Reject) could be introduced through the same means that the Psyker is. Picked up while on route to specialised establishment

Skitarii are usually kept in house, but are of low-ish rank, and a ship full of effectively dead ones, (which aren’t quite dead,) could be acquired enroute home for recycling. They get a few repairs, shoved into battle, and the rest is history.

there’s already a mechanicus game, and GW is weird about sharing lisancing between games so i don’t know why you made this thread even before considering any of the lore issues.
