The Crafting Memorial; lest we forget

its still gonna take a while for me i made a chart. assuming i either need all t3s+t4s or 70% of ALL blessings

roughly half of all weapon trees in about 1.6k hours not bad if i do say so.

See what happens to the completion percentages if you apply a weighting system. Try something basic like t1 blessing = 1 point, T4 = 4 points etc

I have been playing again recently. Using melk bucks and ordos and such to grab a bunch of blessings in anticipation for the unlocked and loaded update.

But with their ā€œsacrifice mechanicsā€ I wouldnā€™t worry too much. Get what blessings you can from emperorā€™s gifts, melk, and armoury, with a prioritization on higher tier blessings. But just stick pile weapons. DO NOT SELL THEM. You will be able to sacrifice weapons to gain mastery, more mastery gained if they match the weapon family.

So keep everything (unless sacrificed for blessings) until then. Then just play with that weapon family and/or use brunts to just grab a bunch of that weapon family and for the weapons that have bad bases sacrifice em and keep the rest.

I dont need luck i have a super sekret teknique
say i wanna build picks but i have only 2 t4s ill just put a t4 on a bunch of blue picks from brunt and save them for the crafting update when they can be sacrificed

RL has me making some choices when it comes to how I spend my time, and frankly banking for potential gains in the future for purely entertainment purposes with my current subpar gear isnā€™t enough to have me reinstall the game.

I want this game to be good, but with their obvious fear that people wouldnā€™t play the game because of a lack of grinding motivating them keeping in a fair amount of grinding and RNG, I donā€™t expect this rework to do enough. Iā€™m hoping, which is why Iā€™m still popping into the forums every once in a while, but their actions have brought the pessimism out.

a lot of people are still hopeful with varying degrees. every update i see many posters with the banner ā€œthis user hasnt posted in X amount of timeā€. for me if the crafting update turns out fine ill finally review the game and maybe buy it for a friend since i dont like 99.9% of the cosmetics

same boat for meā€¦ this whole process is inevitably just going to lock me out of using anything I donā€™t already have on existing weapons for a while. I appreciate that itā€™s going to be better overall, but transitioning from the garbage RNG we HAD to this ā€œcompletion = masteryā€ option isnā€™t going to do us that havenā€™t been grinding our brains out any favors.

I think itā€™s completely appropriate to shelve the game until final numbers are in (how long should it take to complete mastery on a weapon family?)

I am playing other games (Void crew just came out with an update).

But I have been messing around getting Martyr skulls and such. Thereā€™s a lot I havenā€™t caught up on. Been using the exact same weapons and builds. Wonā€™t bother changing any of it until the crafting update comes out.

Looking at steam and Darktide newsā€¦

Itā€™s apparent to me, that removing the locks is more popular and generates more excitement than new maps and new weapons even. There are more likes for the crafting rework than there are for new maps or weapons. That should say a lot.

But no, we mustnā€™t forget the ever nebulous and silent majority that never comments, likes, or shares. Hell, they never even play the game apparently to extol itā€™s virtues. Theyā€™re so silent they have achieved a state of non-existence from what I can see.

Puts a different spin on the lore when itā€™s not entirely out of bounds to say the great crusadeā€™s first action was the emperor going to mars with a pokeball.

This new Update is looking goodā€¦ I just want to get my hands on it so I can feel it, taste it.

My doomscroll of weapons ready to turn into salvageā€¦is getting seriously long. Every mission it inserts the new weapon somewhere in the middle and I have to scroll hunt for the tiny yellow icon to indicate new weapon to check if it has blessing not acquired yet.

My OCD kicking it. I just want to get rid of it all into plasteel and out of sight.

Same. But we can just wait to change it into mastery.

This update actually got me back into playing the game in anticipation. Iā€™ve been collecting blessings and then just collecting the weapons that I have their blessings for. Iā€™m going to have some backlog to use =3

Btw. Iā€™m done with collecting. Iā€™ve got them all!
Some time ago, but still.

Iā€™m not proud of it, but I called this way-back-when ( with a dash of salt at the time as I could see it was bollox  )

Their original idea was that all stats moved together uniformly, which just showed a lack of forethought as that wouldnā€™t be possible with a 380 stat cap.

Iā€™m relieved that many of us will just be able to flog inventory accrued over time to speed the process up. But I still think their idea of double RNG on base items is utterly stupid. Itā€™s like theyā€™ve just not learned from 2 years of forum bashing.

Simple solution, let people buy the points they want in each stat; and charge us for selling them back too (to allow adjustments). There you go. Deterministic grind. Hellā€¦ have weapons DETERIORATE as we use them, so we need to keep spending money to hone them.

Weā€™ll end up with 2-3 ā€œmetaā€ layouts, depending if people want damage, reload, or mobility, and happy days - weā€™ve all then got Red-Equivalent stats builds.

Hah ha. Okay. Maybe not. Itā€™d just be a mission tax, so yeah, nm.
