The Crafting Memorial; lest we forget

Get the feeling it will be 2x RNG stats

  • 1st RNG is on base stats
  • 2nd RNG is on max cap (in blue). In youtube video “Now you can see any weapon’s max stats, a glimpse of its future potential”

So you could find a nice base stat weapon but limited in upgrade cap or vice versa, or in between etc.

Guessing the idea is mass buy from armory until 370-379 to minimise the spend of upgrade plasteel to cap. But if mass buy and grab 360 weapon you would have to spend more plasteel to reach the cap. The cap of each of the weapon’s own individual stats is variable and not all the way to 80% as image shows.

What if a 350 weapon has higher cap than a 370 weapon - Then dilemma of actually keeping the worse weapon and spend plasteel to compensate past the 370 one which had lower cap. Ahhhh the joys!

It is one RNG system replaced with another RNG.

As I understand it, all weapons will have the blue bars going to 380 so every weapon is a 380 ( with enough mastery and resources).

Aha I stand corrected. FS never did explain things very well. They could of ended it as any weapon can reach max, all about how much resource spend so no weapon becomes redundant. All done in one sentence.

Yes. So Melks, and brunts, and armoury will probably be more for sacrifices to gain mastery on weapons you aren’t using or to tweak base stats now.

With the new system, use all your melk coins on getting high tier blessings :stuck_out_tongue:

My problem is that I still have missing T1 and T2 blessings. Armory has 1-2 every now and then I pull from blue weapons, if I purposely drop to T4 Auric which drops blues then it speeds up collecting.

My scroll bar is getting seriously silly long saving up old weapons to turn into salvage. My OCD is kicking in.

I’m only one blessing away from full collection!

You will be at max mastery without it still :stuck_out_tongue:

Unfortunately Ironhelm is the only double barrelled shotgun from its family, so I don’t think so.

mods that interact with the item system will likely have to be disabled or removed, yes. Not sure if it will break something like numeric ui considering it doesn’t touch those things.

I genuinely don’t understand why Fatshark is so dedicated to RNG and this paradigm of creating tons of assets and records around it.

None of the other big 4 person coop shooters play with RNG in this way, and that’s largely because it’s a detraction from the rest of the experience.

Nobody at Fatshark ever wants to talk about the purpose of all this RNG, how they see it adding to and enhancing the gameplay or player experience or how such a grind system helps retain players. Not once has anyone at Fatshark talked to or elaborated on this.

It ends up feeling like there’s a senior Dev or C-suite that’s fetishized RNG to an unhealthy degree, and nobody is able to tell them “this isn’t adding anything of value”.

Granted, this new system feels like it may be less frustrating than the existing locks, but feels like it’s still missing the fundamental point that tens of thousands of negative review were trying to make.

It was probably much easier for them to transition into this system with that first layer intact the way they did it and not have to start from scratch

I really do think that Fatshark doesn’t understand how their games work.

They think that without a carrot, everyone will give up.

Me, it’s simple. I play until I’m sick of it. Then I put the game down for like 3 months and play something else. Then, inevitably, I wish to kill things for the Emperor, and I come back.

The RNG does nothing beyond annoying me. It’s now going to be something I can effectively ignore. The new system promises to provide shiny progression bits to please my ape brain.

At no point in this game has the RNG added anything.

Like many dev studios. They know people will go through something they dislike if the end goal is attractive enough. Inflates playtime and more cosmetic exposure.

I’ve come to accept that is the way the industry is now but I advise anyone to not grind for weapons like mass buy from armory. Just use whatever drops from missions instead of spending time staring at mourningstar terminals focus buying weapons. You will enjoy the game more that way. More time in missions, less time in clicking UI all day.

yah, just probably not in a distribution that you want

They could have removed the first layer the same as every layer and it would be effectively the same, but better.

just like how they removed it for rerolling properties

They could just make it simple for not only us but also themselves for balancing, and have every stat be able to just upgrade to 80 instead of needing to worry about rerolling for a dump stat.

I was wrong, based on new information on upcoming update.
Apparently 80% of blessings is enough for full mastery…
But I still have to collect that one last blessing… GOTTA CATCH ‘EM ALL!

Had to use that from the video in the post.

Took them long enough… Now I only need to wait for them to fix the **** the new patch inevitably introduces, and I can finally get back to the game.

I’m just waiting to see how screwed I’m going to be.

Played a fair bit, but the casino churned my stomach so much that I didn’t make much progress in unlocking anything and frankly didn’t go very far into leveling up other characters other then my zealot.

Not a new player, but not a whole lot of ‘progress’ with their RNG system, especially since my times pulling the lever got me junk that wasn’t even worth upgrading. Not looking forward to having to grind like a new player to overcome the RNG that they have left.
