The Crafting Memorial Memorial; lest we forget, lest we forget

Logged in this morning to post in The Crafting Memorial to mention how I’m excited about these new weapon families and how easy and deterministic it’ll be to progress them through to T4 blessings and perfect rolls. Alas, it’s been locked after a period of inactivity.

Pour one out for one hell of a thread.

Indeed, a toast to the Mastery System! No more RNG crafting!

there is still some rng about curios but in the end, not that much important :smiling_imp:
at least making perfect weapons it is what all people wanted, which is nice, and in fact brought in lot of players in the game just by a simple update that removed an unfun mechanic, which was a pointless grind, which wasn’t the reason why people wanted to play the game, but because people play for the gameplay, so it’s good they removed the rng.

Its been a change for sure. Spending significantly more time in game than on the forums. A complete 180 for me.

They did say they “”“”“”“”“eventually”“”“”“”“” wanted to overhaul curios and make them more interesting, but as all FS speak goes will either amount to nothing or not be heard of for a year and a half.

Realise they don’t want people to necro old threads but 7 days seems a bit aggressive to close threads. It was a nice “general” thread to go off tangent as a chit chat about other games people were playing for ideas to try next etc in a concise manner. Discord can be too chaotic.

Since they’re being flexible. Might as well let us infinite random mass buy curios too from brunt.

Stacking 3x +3 stamina curios. Each with ability regen and stamina regen yields some serious results on a zealot. Having lots of fun with that now.

haha, imagining something else, like not being able to simply put together whatever you like, seems unreal now. like, how could anyone design something that absurd.

now we just need the curio overhaul, and a better balance (weapon marks and families)

Funnily enough during the first 6 months or so I did feel I was giving too much time commitment into the game purely because I wanted the end gear results. One person on this forum mentioned he was finally glad to get the gear he wanted and he can “enjoy the game now”. Which does imply he was playing missions endlessly not because he really to, but to finally play missions how he wanted to optimised.

So in a sense I am playing missions more instead of crafting per session, but overall playing the game less as I don’t feel that fomo grind anymore.

2 Years just to add multi-select bulk actions on inventory. That was the longest QOL of any software I’ve known.

A little wish:

  • Allow infinite mass buy curio like weapons rather than pre-made limited ones on brunt
  • Mission selection with and without any/somemodifiers. Still plenty of active players to not affect match making time by splitting queues up.

Some 2 QOL below so I don’t need these mods anymore:

  • Hot keys to get into mission select, crafting without having to run around. The immersion of being part of a living ship was great for a few weeks but a bit time consuming now and nobody really uses public chat.
  • Show everyone’s ammo, that should of been native.

They can take as long as they want on that one imo. It’s not hard to get the curios you need even with RNG. Definitely looking forward to more new content updates.

Cope hope cope

You don’t get that stab of disappointment at the end of a play session any more. Definitely an improvement on overall feel of the game.

The only thing that sucks is missing that odd percentage or two on toughness or health curios. Sometimes even getting the +3 stamina instead of +2. They seem to be rare. I just use melk bucks to spam buy em. Still very rare to get a 21 health or 17 toughness. But I don’t even look at the rotating stores anymore.

There’s so many QOL mods I would want native, especially for console players.

I can relate to that. Doing penances I feel that way. I didn’t care to play with certain key stones or ways of playing but I did. And to be fair some of that did open me up to more build ideas than previously (only need that bugged flame grenade penance for zealot now).

I’m so glad that I can actually get properly hyped for new weapons now. I don’t have to spend 48 consecutive hours rolling at Brunt’s just to get the ones that I want anymore! Life’s good.

Yes! But an average of 100k to get the roll you want is still irritating. FAR less irritating and far less wasteful of time energy and resources, but still room for improvement.

Although, this IS largely mitigated by the fact that we can just Sacrifice the ones without the correct dump stat directly into Mastery
