I will work on formatting it soon.
Got forcefully closed too. Wildin’.
one of the good things that came out of all the argumentation: how to make a response list to the usual devil’s advocates
Nice. I actually liked that movie.
“The lost rejects in Neverland. Where weapons never grow up.”
Warhammer 40K - D6 dice for hit and wound roll.
Dungeons and Dragons - D12 dice for damage or heal roll
Magic the Gathering - D20 dice for life gain/loss roll
Darktide Crafting. As at lvl 30 lowest stat weapon armory “surprise” buy tends to be “around” 290 - D100 dice roll
And then roll a few more d100s afterwards to see if you can make it to the final stretch.
Reminds me of the chaos lord to roll a d100 and see what happens. A 100? Turns into a daemon prince. A 1? He dies. Hilarious.
I remember someone arguing that as Warhammer players you should be used to lots and lots of RNG (dice rolls), conveniently ignoring that in actual tabletop gameplay you tend to build and set things up to minimise RNG as much as possible through equipment, positioning, doctrines, powers, orders, etc.
I really do not want to give FatShark ideas but there are multiple F.A.T.A.L. k1000 tables, which I will not quote because it would be outright admitting to Chaos worship.
(also forum Rules & Regs)
Be warned FATAL is considered EXTRA EXTRA HERESY.
FATAL is not for women who are nursing, pregnant, or may become pregnant. If you experience an erection lasting longer than four hours then please give Slaanesh your phone number seek immediate Emperors mercy. Do not play FATAL while driving or operating heavy machinery. Consult your Ecclesiarch before playing FATAL. Batteries not included, no purchase necessary; void where prohibited, see store for details.
If you played FATAL or at least seen the core rule book you know I cannot quote ANYTHING from there. I used very tame meme for sake of the joke.
And the fact that dice rolls are to simulate… Combat. Not gear. You have 100% control over your army and their equipment. Whether they make their shot or their armor holds is up to the dice. In a video game it’s not that. Your skill is what you control instead of the dice.
Otherwise we’re playing chess.
I had no idea this existed. But I shouldn’t be surprised either.
There are worse systems out there if you can imagine.
Btw. 2448 hours later I have all human sized weapons blessings! Yay!
At least when another nerf to the blessings comes I’ll be ready… to some extent.
I was also going to say, we already have randomized elements in combat. You don’t know what specialists will spawn. If it will be a Dreg, Scab, or both mission. What mini boss will spawn. How the spread of a weapon might effevt a shot. Whether or not your crit. Maybe a pox walker falls in a specific place that stops a team mate from dodging a net. Maybe a Vet has a clutch Demo team proc to get an extra frag. Etc.
Part of the fun is the amount of variables that can happen in a mission, and how you have to react and adapt to them (still want objectives that are a bit more random in each area but that’s a different discussion). Not how you are geared.
If I was building my Death Guard army and some of my models bolters were just randomly replaced with dual plague knives I would be (rightfully) upset.
One of the great films of all time.
"M-i-c-k-e-y M-o-u-s-e
We play fair, and we work hard and we’re in harmony M-i-c-k-e-y M-o-u-s-e
Mickey Mouse"
Stunning film, quite apt really. Guardsmen walking off to fight the hordes of chaos
Not much to do but wait until Skulls to see what Darktide has to offer, ig.
