Out of curiosity - why is that UE devs = mobile game? Many true video games are made with Unreal Engine and many AA and AAA studios are moving to UE5. I am just curious what I am missing as I have zero interesting in mobile games.

My logic is more or less that I doubt they’d start working with an entirely new engine while ditching their own homemade engine for their main franchises, so I figure it’s likely it would be a smaller spinoff project or something like that. I sort of assumed mobile game based on that but who knows, I’m just speculating baselessly to begin with. I dunno if UE5 is well represented in mobile games actually but if it isn’t then that’s less likely

Oh yea it encourages people to adapt from ranged gunner spam around a corner or a sudden larger enemy spam, split second decisions and adrenaline rush. I like skill based mechanics like this (as opposed to non skill mechanics like crafting)

Well atleast we got a we’re still working on the update update. Better than silence at this point.

Yeah that’s encouraging. I would like to think the reason they’re short on other content for skulls event is because they’re focusing on this piece.

Disappointing crafting fixes won’t be live by June, a lot of my friends have no interest in returning until they see the death of the casino.

At this point, the only thing that justifies their utter lack of development and balancing is if they’ve busted their asses to re-implement the initially planned ‘every weapon has pieces to customize’ plan they had for crafting, or something on an equivalent level of difficulty.

I feel like I am too high on hopium but yeah. If they can deliver something better than rotating stores and timers and more control over your weapons in general. Probably reds and things going beyond 80% too. That would be great. A whole overhaul of the entire system. I don’t care really if the mechanical customizations equate to scope changes or barrels and such (would be nice but I feel like I am already asking for a lot).

Yes, my hope is that this is all a lead up to an insane update. Considering last skulls had significantly more content than getting some crafting resources…

Personally I believe physical weapon customization is completely off the table because that might interfere with selling weapon skins.

What I want what is still unrealistic but more possible than that is blessing overhaul to make them actually interesting.

Well, since I know from experience since V1 that Fatshark usually screws up in the end for every of their games and their big updates are either 100% hit or 100% miss (Winds of Magic… ) I am sceptical, though I hope for crafting changes so I could jump back in game. New content will be good but I would rather played old one without casino crafting.

Well, at least SOMETHING will happen that will tell us if FS can do something about this game or just pummel it into grave.

I would advise to set expectations low to avoid disappointment. At least then if something good does turn out - You’ll feel more satisfied than expecting too much and it didn’t deliver what you hoped for…

In 1.5 years - The only real crafting flexibility was 2 locks before and hope was put on relaxing them…but then turn into still 2 locks but locks are flexible between blessings and perks. That’s it. 2 before and 2 after maintained.

Madness of this thread of thousands replies - The message still not sunk in.

Thought of the day:

Killing Floor 2 - Yes, Weapon DLCs, but silly amounts of weapons in base game anyway. Oh and no paid map DLCs, over the years they included over 40 maps in base game purchase, so playerbase had no split match making. Serious value for money here.

Where are more of these games :frowning:

Killing Floor 2 also has a robust enough custom map pipeline, if you’re joining a map you don’t have, it downloads the map.

Loads of game do this from CS to L4D2 and it’s not hard to implement.

I always wanted something like the for Aliens Fire Teams, but the developers were snobs about it.

I think something like a level developers kit would be awesome for DT. And just make them non XP or Docket rewards, to prevent farming, but it provides us with some much need new content to keep us entertained.

This is good to hear, very good, as if they steer away from RNG completely and allow us to spend out dockets and resources upgrading as we see fit, it will be a massive leap in the right direction.

Massive kudas to FatShark if this what they are doing, and loving the snow look on the new level too…

Bolt Pistol… Niiiiiiice.

maybe hold off on praise until they’ve actually pushed out the change…

I did say “if” … a few times

Adding a qualifier doesn’t really change the sentiment.

Could be I’m too consumed with being bitter so I see any mention of praise as unnecessary until Fatshark proves themselves capable of moving remotely in the right direction.

Yeah I agree. We haven’t the faintest idea what they’re actually going to do. But hey, at least they TOLD us they’re doing something. I don’t mind praising them for that instead of wondering whether anything will happen at all ever. Even if it’s with a loose timeline or moving target. They did say they want to share some dev blogs soon so hopefully something there too.

I’m just waiting to see what we get. I have no hopes, no expectations beyond them doing the right thing… But even then that’s just a, do the right thing or I just finally uninstall this game, hide it and spend time on games that respect me. I can easily just go play Deep Rock, GTFO, Helldivers2, and Starship Troopers: Extermination. And there are many more games coming out; we’ve got Killing Floor 3, Ripout(early Access), No more Room in Hell 2, Blight Survival, and probably more that I missed. I know the GTFO devs are working on another new coop shooter.

The only reason I’m even investing any time with this is because of the Warhammer 40K IP. Also at the time there weren’t very many other coop shooters so we were kind of stuck when it came to choices. However now we do have a lot of choice, so if they fail to deliver anything worthwhile I can always go somewhere else. It’s not like when I spent more than a year leaving Planetside 2 because nothing like it still exists to this day. Even Battlebit only barely scratches the same itch.
