worth to mention that also lights out is not applied to all maps for some weird reasons.
for example, i have never seen Relay Station with lights out.
and not ironically relay station with lights out is kinda cool because it is an open area most of the time and it has cool lighting (it won’t be pitch black)
so a special condition that does not apply all maps is just bad
I mean, I played the hel outta Orthus, got all the penances and what-have-you. Beat the super-secret hard mode and everything. As far as I’m concerned, it was a good thing, I got all the value out of it I could ever want. I also want them to make another special assignment. It was a good idea with damn fine execution, but it lacks staying power. Thinking about it makes me nostalgic, and I’m a little peeved we’ve not gotten anything quite like it since.
I feel for folks who’re new to this game that can’t find anyone to play it with. Having a reason to return to it every year or so would be ideal for me. What you suggested would do the trick I reckon, maybe even have a special “Twinslayer” title that either counts completes or “Levels up” every year you beat the SA (Starting at grey and cappin’ at red would give us 5 years of incentive).
Or throwing the map into quickplay and maybe removing the “Skip to boss” bell (They can keep the secret hardmode one). I know folks will complain 'cause the maps so different but they did this in VT2 and it was fine and hel, Rolling Steel’s still on there.
Still waiting for the “Night-time” lights out and “Sandstorm” vent purges for hourglass maps.
I can only assume they don’t have enough developers working on the stuff that should be keeping this “live service” game actually alive and serviceable. We only get balance changes, what, once every quarter?
Yes it’s 2 win runs basicaly, if hard mode wasn’t locked would be 1. It took more time to find a compitent party via steam subforum than to beat it. Pennances is a weak motivation, and you can generate a lot of them - kill with every class, kill with every ability/blitz equiped, etc.
They spent time to create a unique boss fight and it’s just 2 runs. Meanwhile lord maps in V2 are just like normal maps.
People play normal maps and noone plays Orthus anymore, well maybe there are 1,5 extraordinaries who replay it.
I mean, I do say we could make the Orthus Offensive a “normal map”. It’s only a bit shorter than usual but we’ve got Rolling Steel. I think that’d be ideal myself, but I still very much enjoyed the Orthus Offensive as an update/event thing. Got a lot more plays out of it than 2 since I actually enjoyed the map and it took awhile for people to figure out the secret hard mode.
Does the veteran woman have any lines of dialogue at all?
I recently changed my veteran’s gender to female, and I haven’t heard a single remark in 10+ hours of playing.
This sounds like either a bug, or you playing at a sufficiently high level of play that dialogue doesn’t get to play compared to constant ID spam and shooting.
This is also a problem. There is too much spam at a high level for the characters to talk.
But, I don’t remember a female veteran talking even in the elevator.
Havoc is actually hard without crutch support, that’s why people dislike it. They have become accustomed to winning every game and like that, not the challenge of a hard game mode.
I suspect because, despite Havoc being doo-doo on launch, people were hoping there would be adjustments, and Fatshark’s latest update on it makes it clear they’re not really listening and are missing/refusing to address the core fundamental problems.
Darktides premium store fails to uphold 5 of these 7 principles, only complying on the two points where refunds are concerned. They will start having troubles with EU consumer protection in the near future
The time of FOMO and obfuscation currencies being outlawed is coming. Tick tock, Fatshark.
4 and 5 don’t apply to Darktide tho, because it is 18+.
“Exclusively limited” is a blurry description, do they mean commonly used age restriction or more severe practices like depositing an ID check on your acc?
Because if it’s the first the rule is void, because how easy it is for kids to bypass
