Did some messing around and it works so long as things run admin. I didn’t even need to touch the full screen stuff at all.

okay after 3 hours of trying everything online and going through the threads now im still unable to play but pissed off. will uninstall game and delete all related directories. Fatshark, when you have the game fixed and playable please make some annocement so i can see it and install again

Crash on launch started for me after 1.0.12 Hotfix and still has not been corrected by Patch 1.0.20. Going on 2 weeks now since Darktide started crashing 100% of the time as soon as the game starts.

This issue seems to occur when the administrator rights are inconsistent between the Darktide.exe and Launcher.exe.

You may have enabled administrator rights for one, but not the other, at some point.

We recommend removing administrator rights for both Darktide.exe and Launcher.exe by:

  1. Navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE\binaries
  2. Right-click Darktide.exe
  3. Select ‘Compatability’
  4. Untick the ‘Run this program as an administrator’ box
  5. Save your changes
  6. Attempt to launch Darktide as normal

NOTE: You may need to do the same for Launcher.exe, in Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE\launcher

I had to use the fix to delete darktides appdata map before because of a different problem involving the game not starting, so i have nothing in console logs.

Tried this after kiwichpr said turning admin off worked for him, mabye his fix is same as yours, B( but not a universal fix as didnt work for me.

This fix does not work for me. I purchased through Windows, not steam, but tried it anyways. If I go into the binaries folder to right-click Darktide and run as administrator the game will launch and take me to the “Press spacebar to continue” screen. Then it tells me my game is out of date and needs to be updated. I then only have the option to quit. Nothing seems to be recording in the logs to upload.

You should NOT use admin for both launcher and game in the proposed workaround ; not use admin.

Launcher runs, click PLAY, shaders compile, then crash to desktop.

See attached for logs, validated files; did reboot.

Attempted the “run as adminstrator” thing mentioned in post. Confirmed that the states were the same (unchecked) in both .exe’s.

Quick inspection of logs - shows that EAC Anticheat seems to have become inaccessible.

I attempted to manually start via the “start_protected_game” and running the “EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup” as well, both normally and as admin, to no avail.
