Won't start at all

Steam won’t even start the launcher. I click play, it does nothing and then stops. Prtotectet game starts the game but i only get an backend error.
I was in the second beta and didnt get to play once.

I only get a consol_logs if i try to start via ptotected game.

there is no launcher.log

Can you ensure that your anti-virus has the game whitelisted. Or you can try disabling your anti-virus entirely.

Tried whitelisting it, tried without antivirus. Nothing changed.

Is there a darktide_launcher.log file generated?

As i said, there is no darktide_launcher.log
No crash report either.
Just consol_logs if i start in protected game. It won’t launch via steam itself.

I have the minimum requirements.

I did verify game integrity. Also reinstalled it.

Deleting Darktide directory did nothing.

I have .net framework 4.7.2 (or higher).

Disabeling background apps didnt help.

  1. Delete the appdata\roaming\fatshark directory (this is one directory down from the darktide directory)
  2. Run steam as an administrator

It feels like steam cant write to the directory which is why its not generating the launcher log. I’m hoping that by wiping the fatshark subfolder, steam will be able to recreate the file structure

Didn’t help.
The launcher just won’t start.
I can start darktide.exe and start_protected_game.exe mode
Both give me backend error after the intro.
Launcher.exe does nothing.
