In Steam, I am now unable to activate or turn on the Launcher. I’ve tried deleting the WebView2 directory, as well as the GPUDetection.dll & .exe. I also tried running in administrator mode as well as compatibility mode. It’s not launching and unable to start the game.

Could you share your darktide_launcher.log with us please?

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide
  4. Locate the darktide_launcher.log in this directory

This directory doesn’t exist… I did a Verification on the files in Steam, and this directory still does not exist.

The folder should be there:

%appdata%\Fatshark\Darktide

Paste it in a Run box (Win+R) or Explorer Address bar (Win+E)

The %appdata% is an Environment Variable, with the appended “\Fatshark\Darktide” it resolves to:

C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide

The darktide_launcher.log file exist there, and the game logs are in the console_logs sub-folder.

This directory still does not exist for me – I tried creating it manually and then running the launcher, and still it’s not appearing. It verifies as being all present, so, going to try to uninstall and re-install overnight.

Tough one, as with no data we have no clues to work with. Let us know how the reinstall works out, and have a think whether an application on your PC could be interfering with the launcher. The best way to check this is via a Selective Startup, which we have instructions for at the bottom of this page:

Even after a reinstall, a selective start-up, and manually adding these to my Norton360 antivirus as an exception – I still do not see this directory locally. I am still unable to start the launcher or launch the game.

Have you looked at the windows event viewer logs ->application (check all categories) for a crash entry?
Often when an app craps out right at the start, you’ll have a corresponding entry.
Are you 100% sure you’re looking at the right folders in explore?

Aight so you can try deleting that folder Darktide folder and try again
the one under AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
OTOH, you may want to look at other answers now that you found you log file, the interesting bit is “Failed to open pipeline state stream” and if you search the forums here for that
