I get error 4008 a lot. No amount of waiting seems to help, but restarting my modem has so far worked for me every time.

Cool,got on for the first time in about a month and immediately got 4008. Uninstalled.
I will likely not buy this game because of it’s inconsistency in being able to actually play. I could care less about the bugs WHILE being able to play, I just want to be ABLE to play.
I get it, it’s a fresh game, maybe it’s Microsoft’s fault, I don’t really care don’t have a game release on a specific launcher and advertise it on said launcher if it doesn’t work. Take it off game pass and Microsoft store.

I do like the game, I think it’s great, when it actually works.

Until it does I’m out.

Hello,

I have played the game for a while but since December 2022, I have suddenly been getting the 4008 failed handshake. I already have a sharpshooter character leveled 30, so i was able to play this just fine until i created a new character, and then started getting 4008. Is there anything I can try on my end that would help solve this issue?

Error code 4008 seems to have gotten much worse since the 1/24/2023 patch.

I am able to spawn into the Mourningstar with no problem. But I cannot successfully play the game. I am able to spawn into a game, where I encounter severe lag (ice skating enemies, etc) then get kicked within 2 minutes or less. The problem seems more severe when trying to join a private game or a game with friends.
