Fix the lag/performance!

Since the redemption pathc I’ve had the most horrendous lag/performance. I used to play 4k with most settings on high. Now I’m at 1080 with everything low or off and I’m still getting this issue.

A couple of days ago it seemed to sort itself out and I was finally getting stable gameplay. Then this nee patch game out and the stability is awful again.

FIX THE LAG!!!

Don’t do anything else untill you’ve done that! Why are you releasing content when most players are suffering a game breaking issue!

Fix the lag before you do anything else.

I don’t care if this is in the wrong forum.

Your switch from 4k high to 1080p low might mean system degradation.

i made a thread about this, but do this to fix performance -

First you gotta remove anything to do with darktide off your pc. Cache, app data, everything. Use program “everything” to easily find files. Back up mods. Then reinstall Darktide. It should work fine now. Then also to remove stuttering turn of cfg in exploit protections in windows for darktide only. This will remove alot of stuttering. I had all the issues, loading problems, audio stuttering and general poor performance, and doing this works.

I recall seeing a post about a stale shader cache. That might be related?

You could search for those instructions? I also think, from memory, updating your graphics card drivers triggers a cache rebuild too.

I’ve already tried some of them but I’ll try reinstalling the whole game.

I’ve noticed it starts out fine then gets bad after a few missions. Not sure if that means its my system or the game?

I can’t advise on that I’m sorry. I think it’s supposed to be the other way around! Most shaders are done up front, but then some compiled on the fly as they’re needed (at least as you read the dev posts).

Also looks like AMD people have a worse time of it than NVidia. Ain’t that always the way :roll_eyes: I got one ATi Radeon (now AMD). I’ll never get another…!

If it gets progressively worse throughout play over a few games, might jus mean some overheating issue.

I do know that there are a few people who experience performance issues.

You should take this to the feedback/troubleshooting forums with a dxdiag before bashing them like this. Most people don’t have issues who play, and berating fatshark for you being the outlier with issues in a problem - is not helpful to anyone.

You are right and i do apologise about my rant. Im not going let my frustration get the better of me next time. Bashing them is not heplful. I have just provided them feedback.

I have just ran an dxdiag and it found no problems. I’m currently reinstalling the game.

make sure you remove everything to do with darktide not just uninstall it. also ddu your drivers

Your joking! The performance issues went on for weeks!
I paid for the product they’re responsible for fixing it.

Posting here worked fine for me, plenty of people have been very helpful.

Yeah I do, its a pain restarting every 2-3 games

I’m Nvidia on a 2 year old laptop.
I’m reinstalling today, hopefully it solves it.

Try posting in the technical issues forum. If they manage to help you within a week that’s fine.

If they can’t, refund on steam. They might automatically deny you due to hours played but if you keep trying and explain that the game is unplayable and the developer is unable to fix it, you’ll get your refund.
Wait 1-2 years and buy the game again during a sale. That’s generally the time it takes for FS to iron out larger issues.

I know this is one of the 10 point IT request steps, but…

Have you recent graphics card drivers? Do a clean install of those too maybe if you’re not on latest. I genuinely don’t think it’ll make a difference, but who knows: forcing those shaders to be rebuilt might be the golden ticket.
