Because this is Forum and Forum is place of discussion, love/hate letters, posting opinions and engaging in sharing said different opinions. I don’t know what you expected from Forum. I wrote longer post since I prefer to back up my opinion with as much arguments as possible as I feel that is proper way of discussion. But I am boomer.

I expect nothing and I am rarely surprised when people do weird things. And it’s weird to start a response with “Why does it matter” then make me read an entire Tolkien novel to explain how it doesn’t matter. And it’s even weirder to respond to that response for no other purpose than to respond about that response in defense of a response. (I can do this all day.)

The difference is I started with that and then proceed to explained why I think it doesn’t matter. You already replied twice to me without even trying to tell me what you thought it matters. And if you agree it doesn’t matter, what was the point of your initial post in first place that I replied to? You posted that you think X is becasue Y and I replied to that saying that why it doesn’t matter and why it doesn’t affect the point of the OP post.
Now you are posting why I wrote long response to your post. So better question is: why did you even post in first place? You didn’t expect reply (long, short or whatever)? I engaged with what you wrote.

This whole thread is one long exercise in insanity. And I’m quite insane. I don’t care what anyone’s character looks like, and I don’t see how it even matters. I think the 40k universe is a wonderful place to make everyone look like the worst and I went all in. My female Zealot gives me nightmares when I see her face, and I love it. But if you want a pretty character then I guess you have the right to get bent out of shape and moan about it on a forum filled with enough salt to put Morton’s out of business.
In the end I was being antagonistic and insane. But insults and me being an asshat don’t really help the situation and really just adds to the pile of salt. So let me say this. I’m sorry. I should have done what my ex-wife suggests all the time and should have said nothing. But I do apologize.
But that is the point. That’s your opinion only. Beauty is subjective, even though there are “beauty standards” that are commonly agreed upon during certain historical periods or among certain ethnic groups. So what would be a problem for other players to have their own characters looking how they think fit their image of their characters? Nobody says your preference is bad but why you are sounding like you are implying that people with opposite preference are incorrect. The point of character creation is supposed to be that everyone can create character according to their current preferences.
So again, nobody says about removing or changing the ugly options, but I don’t see any reason (lore or not) to not add more attractive options. If you say “How often are you ogling your character to even really care?” then by that logic: you wouldn’t care if other players could make more attractive characters, right? Since you don’t care in first place.

What is this argument? Are Sienna or L4D’s Zoey waifubait? You literally can’t arrive at a conclusion that a female character could have non sexual appeal to anyone, then project it onto others and say ‘lol u so mad gottem XDDdd’ like get some edge. And take that cold shower.

Have you read any back story choices when you create your character? Not exactly an environment that makes you pretty. And I’m sure many of this faces would be a lot prettier if you could put wall plaster levels of makeup on them. Just like in real life…
If you like ugly faces, that’s your choice and I won’t shame you, but it’s not the chosen option for the vast majority of the population.

Neither the planet backgrounds nor the personal backgrounds should have any bearing on whether somebody will look like a troglodyte or an actual human being.
I don’t think anyone here is asking for bimbo faces. Why is that the first thing that comes to mind for so many of you antis?
