You can go to the most devastated places on earth, countries ravaged by war, and you’ll find normal human beings, even pretty people.
People don’t just turn into hell spawns.

And how countries raveged by war compare to whole worlds living in this conditions for centuries? Hive cities are known for poor quality water, air, food… Very hostile environment. Look what bad condition can do to a person during their single life time. Look what happen to a fetus when mother doesn’t get everything they need or worse, ingest harmful substances. Imagine that happening for generations. Hive cities conditions are closer to a death camp then what you consider living. Being pretty is least thing you are worried about in 40k. Not to mention, what we consider pretty in a woman, would lower survival chances(making them a target) . And over generations, it would slowly fade from gene pool.
This is reality of grim Dark future of WH40k.
This is what you chose to believe.
Nowhere in the source material of 40k is stated that humans are malformed and hideous.
EDIT: And before you tell me it doesn’t say they are ptetty either, I’m asking for AVERAGE humans, normal everyday people, which is to be assumed when no description is given.
I don’t want barbie, I want a normal and average human.
I don’t think you’ve ever seen a Clan Escher member. None of them are ugly. That nulls out your claim that “you can’t be pretty if you were born and raised on a hive world”.
Besides, none of the planets you can choose for your background are hive cities.
The point of Darktide’s ugly models isn’t that there aren’t beautiful people in 40k. The point is that they are unfitting for the grungy aesthetic of the game.
Cope and seethe, your avatar will never be a (beautiful) woman.

I could go on but I guess you get my point.
Allow me to clarify: they are unfitting for the grungy aesthetic of this game.
DarkTide has a specific feel, tone, and art style, one that is distinct (deliberately so) from the generic prettygirlface of other games.
Again, that’s just your opinion. I don’t see how pretty female face would change anything for a tone of the game as all games I mentioned keep dark tone of WH40k and I never heard anyone saying that pretty female face suddenly makes 40k not dark, grungdy or grim anymore.
But you have right to your opinion so I will just agree to disagree.
I mean, you are literally just objectively wrong.
I think this post has run its course. Time to move on. Thread locked.
