It’s been another year. I hope all of you are still enjoying Darktide.
Has there been any changes/improvements to the female character model? Better hair, better faces, more feminine options? Or am I still forced to look as wide as I am tall with a face that Shrek would laugh at?

No improvements and we continue to have cheap-ass ‘we didn’t want to make a second model’ cosmetics.

Shame to hear it. I just saw the other forum topic about customization. If I had read that before posting, this post wouldn’t have been needed. It’s sad that it takes this long to get anything done. We had a topic in the beta phase that had a vast majority arguing in favor of better character appearance. It fell on deaf ears, and continues to fall on deaf ears it seems.
I’ll hold off to switching to Darktide for now.

worst is, I have bought a game far from the triple A, made by a small team and in early access. They plan to improve again the character creation, but they are already far above what darktide propose.
Eyes color… we have few colors
Hair cuts, the game has a lot of hair cut
Faces: game has generic faces that adapt to the sex of the character. Better, (but totally useless in darktide) you can decide your ancestor that will have an impact on your face
And for faces you can decide of everything… like any games in the 2020’s years… why have I the feeling that Darktide come from the past… 20 years ago?
Ah and don’t forget. Same cosmetic models for women and men. Not even one pixel change between the two. Even if devs said the contrary.
apparently commissar dukane has a proper model, not just a reskinned universal one. so with this model being in the game, there’s the possibility of adapting the existing skins to it.
Lol… that’s because it is not a player. A player is a male noun, so all models are for males. Logic, isn’t it?

I second your motion for improved character customisation in general, but yes, females especially. Seeing everyone running around with same face, becasue it’s the only decent one, really shows that Fatshark just massively missed the mark.

So because I would like more than one normal face… And a less orcish body… You assume that I want hentai models? Kinda weird. You know that the current models are like 2 or 3 out of 10’s right? Why should asking for a 6, 7, or maybe even an 8 out of 10 be stigmatized? They are actively doing women a disservice by going this far below the average.
Besides, what does this being Warhammer have anything to do with it? … Have you seen some of Warhammer’s official art? There’s plenty of gorgeous characters in licensed artwork. Both male and female.

Ahh I see! You’re absolutely right. I was secretely hoping you were going to name some Darktide-esque game that delivers on more character options.
You…very much undermined your own point here by making it about attractiveness.
I don’t care if they’re ‘attractive’, I’d just like some basic effort into cosmetic body types and some hairstyles that look normal.
I’m very much about attractiveness. That’s what I’m on about. That’s my point. I didn’t undermine myself as it’s not about simply adding MORE options. I want BETTER options. Which then turn into more options if they add those ontop of existing ones. If they added more faces that were as ugly as these are now then I’d still not like it.
Sorry if my phrasing in my earlier post lead you to misunderstand.
And to counter that - not every NPC or player needs to look like bum, meth addict or have a face of scarecrow. You know… choice? Variety? 10 options for X, 10 options for Y, 10 options for Z?
You know what… when I see the faces of our character, this is exactly what they make me think they are… meth addicts.
“hairstyles that look normal”… So… more attractive? the current ones look awful, and you’re asking for better ones.
To be attractive is to “look good” to be more attractive is to “look better”, ergo you’re also asking for more attractive options yourself.
You asking for “normal” bodies/hairstyles is literally you asking for a more attractive one.
And if not then please define what make something “normal” in your opinion.
To be normal means to be attractive. (in a basic way, obviously going away from the norm can also be very attractive) But normal is the vanilla level attractiveness if you will.
Ugh… This topic has been talked about ad nauseam, how the hell did fatshark not get the message yet…
they need to ugly up that one female face everyone uses because it’s alright so this will stop. just set it up as required we’re all messed up from bring in a prison ship for months and move on.
