Sorry, I figured the meme was applicable to different circumstances and would create a cohesive storyline… they’re the same hostages but I have multiple demands!
…and I might’ve needed something to distract me from getting mad at something unrelated.
The Mongols almost conquered the known world because the other tribes messed with Ghengis’s family. So Ghengis decided to rule them all by threatening his tribesmen/enemies with a brutal death if they didnt submit, and to kill outliers (modern day Iran/Afghanistan) who decided to screw him when he only wanted trade. Ghengis in fact didnt give a sh!t about other people’s culture because all the cultures in Mongolia then were practically the same, and only absorbed positive customs of other tribes that he happened to conquer. Tolerance was more so a mechnism of Shamanism/Animism, a multicultural belief system/religion that most if not all Mongols practiced. Ghengis then died to his southern neighbors of Western Xia.
The English just wanted land that came with spice/money (and maybe free labourers), general expansion.
The best advice I’ve ever heard is that if you treat a woman/girl like a human being and speak to her like she’s a person, you’ll do better than 99.5% of the males out there.
Regarding myself, I ask my wife every single day how she has put up with me for ten years, and she always responds, “It would take too much effort to teach a new man to follow orders, not think for himself and do what he’s told”.
My wife describes me as cute, safe, and harmless, but it was definitely luck that we met in the same class at restaurant school.
Wife was admitted to a posh cooking school in Båstad, but owing to a family circumstance at the time, she chose to attend the one I attended to instead.
She fell in love with me at first sight! (My words, not hers).
