It’s hilarious to read the posts of players arguing over the latest patch. “The PS and Flamer are too strong this patch was fine, if you needed these weapons you’re a baby!” and “WTF Fatshark why Nerf these weapons?! Don’t listen to the Damnation Players they’re no-lifers!”
And for some reason we’re turning on each other over game mechanics. It’s supposed to be fun. It’s supposed to be entertaining. But we’re all miserable. And I can’t help but think that FatShark is sitting around their offices congratulating themselves on displacing the anger and frustration so that we’re attacking each other.
Well… PS and flamers were both too strong weapons.
Even after the nerf, the flamer need again a new nerf (but with ammo reserve like before the patch).

I can understand that people that were playing with a so powerful weapon like the PS know now a frustration. Yes it is a hard nerf, But this weapon was the best melee weapon that was granted to a class that had also best ranged weapon and best DPS for the ranged and melee cause of PS.
I am even surprised that they waited that lot of people get power cycler before nerfing the weapon. I suspect even that it was the main reason.
Divide and conquer has long been a winning strategy.
All they had to do was to change a few decimals here and there to create VERY divisive opinions in the players community so that we all forget (for a moment) how terrible a job they have done for the so-called crafting system.
I’m not miserable. I think the nerfs are fine and people should’ve seen them coming miles away.
Hopefully this will lead people to explore other weapon options. Also, I can FINALLY see what what I’m doing because there aren’t flames all over the place!
Loads of weapons work just fine despite having a reputation of being bad. Granted, some of them you may have to use other Curios than you’re used to to get the full effect, but they can work just fine.
Some weapons do require buffs though (in my opinion), but people are acting like only the PS and the Flamer were usable.
Instead of adapting and trying out stuff they haven’t really given a chance people are whining about losing their face-role weapons. It’s a bit pettiful honestly.
Joke aside I find it a bit hillarious that there are so much commotion just from two weapons got nerf.
Never seen people broke down like this before in any PVE game I’ve played.
The division was already there they just (un intentionally) highlighted it. There’s a bunch of people who came from the previous tide game who lord it over the new guys on dark tide and dictate what they think is best for the game.
They generally disrespect anyone who doesn’t play the hardest difficulties in the game with the weakest classes and loadouts and generally come across are arrogant rude and hypocritical
Probably a bit too hard on the conspiracy theory here. FS has warned about a soon to come nerf on the flamer in previous patch and PS got nerf berfore already. The forum is a big minority no matter which side you are on. They did the nerf because those weapon were overperforming and they wanted weapons usage to be more balanced between all.
Did they went on it the hard way? probably. But any Vtide player remember the moonBow. At least for Dtide buff will soon come by if they are needed.

Flamers are still strong and there are players that don’t care that they take 80% of the ammos…
As I said here, flamer need an other nerf. And I have written here if you met someone that doesn’t care of the team and want to use his flamer from the beginning to the end, your game, as a veteran, will be a nightmare.
Really? I thought I held back quite a bit. I was going to suggest that FS is sacrificing puppies and kittens to the Chaos gods in their evil Lair underneath FS HQ. But that sounded a bit dark even to me so I restrained myself.
This is silly. It isn’t a conspiracy by the devs to take people’s focus away from other things, it’s just what happens when you’ve got a game that attracts both more hardcore and more casual players. There is no game state that will please all of them. There never is.
At no point did I argue about the Patch being needed, or unneeded, or whether the weapons are balanced or not. I merely pointed out that FS might be enjoying the show while we fight amongst ourselves. And here are the responses that continue the cycle. Free yourselves brothers and sisters and see the Light! There is only Us and Them! Not us and them, and them, and them! Together we stand, divided we fall!
Honestly it’s not us against them either. They aren’t epic villain trying to rob us or politician. They are trying to make a game, sell it and sustain it as long as possible.
I want to see them change the lock system because it is stupid in my point of view. But I am not against fatshark. And if they could release a patch and have everyone sing their praise and play the game forever they would do that too.
A patch that antagonise half the community is probably not something they would celebrate just becaus fifteen person on the forum has start to insult each other instead of asking for lock change. If anything the moderation is probably sweeting.
