I’ve stopped engaging myself in topics / discussions here in this forum because I ran out of nice words. I’d literally get banned if i’d shared my REAL thoughts about fatshark as a company.
All that’s left for me is trolling white knights and fatshark simps in steam forums as well as giggling at their desperate marketing attempts (looking at you “patches” and “comm links featuring nerdy female person”) to make things seem way better on the surface than they actually are to lure in new and returning players.
I would assume, that the official announcements of updates as well as patchnotes, are the posts that get the highest number of users to interact with them.
Especially in these cases, the OP will be the most read post (many users will likely only read the announcement itself and are not there for the discussion).
For the past 2 announcements, the OP itself got fewer likes, than a community post further down the thread, asking for specific crafting changes.
If this is not a clear sign, i don’t know what is.
But this thread made me feel nice. We are a community that would MUCH RATHER be talking about weapons, builds and lore
Instead of asking for the SAME THING for 5 months straight
It’s ether this insanity - doing the same thing (talking about crafting in hope that Fatshark will change thing or simply say something via CMs - it will not for sure) hoping things to change.
Or arguing with players who want to nerf everything because they not approve any kind of fun different from their kind of fun
Though my favorite section is BUGS right after each new patch.
Also there is Psyker chat in official discord - chatting there or simply reading it is better than playing the game right now
Gotta agree, I interact with it as little as possible meaning I’m down to playing the same few builds 95% of the time. What a good and varied crafting system, truly the Warhammer 40,000: Darktide of our time.
Somewhat lore accurate.
Experimentation and initiative is throwned upon in the lore.
If it works don’t fix it.
@FatsharkCatfish
This really isn’t a fight that we’ll keep fighting forever. More and more are playing less and less, or outright leaving. So many have left already.
There’s no point putting out cosmetics or even a ‘new’ map. Even a new subclass will only excite people for a few days or weeks at most. All you’re doing is putting more and more perfume on an already rotting corpse.
You can’t reanimate the corpse with new content unless you first remove the RNG and #breakTheLocks. It is the poison that seeps through everything and ruins everything. That there’s been no actual official word on this is truly insane.
The abusive relationship ^^
Just stumbled upon that video (YT’s suggestion) and it illustrates the conundrum about the crafting system quite well (for many players).
Some might be slightly more at peace with what’s not offered here as they do not engage with the crafting system much.
Look, I even have plasteel:
(also just bought a blessing from Melk)
Yeah - I really want to be engaging in more discussions around builds and playstyles, and specifically how to configure weapons there is a lot of variability there. But it’s all a pointless exercise because you probably won’t even be able to test someone else’s build because the RNG makes it nearly impossible to match someone else’s setup. I think most people inclined to discuss builds realize this and have mostly given up brothering. A real shame.
It’s not only pointless, it’s depressing. You can spend time theorycrafting a perfect weapon, and even theorycraft the perfect curios to go with it (maybe stam regen or +stam does something for the weapon, or maybe +toughness regen makes you capable of being in the open more, or any other combo)… and then after spending that time theorycrafting, you realize you will never get this perfect weapon, let alone the curios. You then realize that even IF you got that, in theory, perfect weapon - you’d be incredibly hamstrung if you started to theorize that a different perk/blessing combo could be good. Or maybe you’d just like to, for a few days, change the weapon into some fun meme-build that’s super good at one specific thing…
Well you can’t do any of that. No choice. No agency. Only depression and sadness at all the countless missed opportunities with this game, and lamenting how easily it could be solved.
