The Crafting Memorial; lest we forget

Fatshark is in no place strategically to ask the few players they have left for more money. If they make classes paid they’ll need to improve their game to the point where people actually want to pay them for another class.

NGL, unless server issues get worse by then and the class isn’t broken out the gate I’ll be one of them basic hoes jamming my wallet into the disc tray of my PC. Sorry. . .

Lets see if crafting locks are finally removed or no unreasonable unlocking that requires running 50 missions to get enough materials to do one unlock.

Will give them some credit. I promise I won’t even moan it took 8 month to do it either, it’s finally done.

Usually game mechanic changes are subject to split opinions in the community. This isn’t one of them. Nobody wants to tie their own hands. What is there to think about? Lowering grind? Game balance? It’s a no brainer. Perhaps when someone data mined possibility of paid boosters to XP and loot reward quality there is an opportunity to monetise crafting as well, so that’s the “thinking” delay?

If it is another generic bugfixes, 2 more maps that have same environment and one of those “We are looking into doing something…something” generic statement…

If they wanted to win me over they should fix headshots on ogryn melee weapons, and then apologize for that ever not working. Some small token to their most dedicated of slabs. I would have rather seen that than more nothing after all this time, lol.

or those unused weapons we know about. shovel meta needs to rise, drop all 4 at the same time.

Rember what happened last time?

And that other time.

And there was that other time too.

7:20 for the upgrade system.

You know… as terrible as this is, I’d honestly prefer this over vanilla DT.

And before anyone freaks the f*ck out, what I mean is that I’d prefer it because of how openly shitty it is over how deceptively shitty DTs upgrading is.

While having to spend money will always be strictly worse than being able to do so for free (irl money wise), at least I can look at this and clearly make the obvious observation that this is not worth my time and money, while I feel mislead in DT because of the horrendous, unevenly distributed odds.

I genuenly hate the fact that they do not have to disclose any odds because it costs no actual money.

I know what you mean - It tells you upfront what you’re getting, regardless good or bad. Being honest about it.

Darktide. They promoted custom weapon attachments mid last year. Then deleted that post.

They also deleted post about about ability to earn premium currency in game.

Better to be honest and just state they didn’t want to do it anymore rather than promise, delete the idea. Until someone raises it then they said it wasn’t designed to be like COD.

COD isn’t the only game with attachments. Might as well say it wasn’t designed to be like most FPS games, that would be more accurate.

Next up. Lets ask why all the maps are graphically identical with assets, not unique in colour palette, even 2 new ones.

I’m waiting for someone to justify and say “It all takes place in one location” - Convenient excuse. Look at the base missions of VT2 without any DLC, unique looking and also mini mechanics during those missions like escort, throw barrels, hit switches, team work based mechanics apart from shoot everything.

I was really hoping crafting will be “inspired” by Escape From Tarkov.
Exchange type of power pack, exchange barrel from standard lasgun to hell gun, add flashlight, add optics, remove stock etc.
And waaaay more “adjustable” options to make gun “actually yours”.
Camo, purity seals, slings, carvings etc.

Tarkov. The level of customization is example of complete realism. I think I would spend 2 hours tweaking before actually jumping into a run.

Imagine if FS did replicate to this high level. “Well you wanted weapon customization! Here you go”. It will be like WTF hundred combinations affecting range, stability, accuracy. My head hurts.

Sadly I sucked at this game, so I stopped playing. Half the time I panic fire and shot team mates in the dark and get abuse from guys on discord match up, other half I’m choosing to run naked scav as too poor to buy gear.

Same here. Also that would be way better for immersion. I like affecting stats with appropriate modifications way more than copies upon copies of the same thing with arbitrarily differing stats. I was really bummed after playing the beta. And haven’t played since.

Yea, they don’t seem to understand. The mission gameplay loop. That’s OK. Every day/week you can run the same missions. However to break that repetition if not adding new maps, they just have to allow people to change their weapons more. It makes it seem less repetitive.

It is either you make a game with zero builds, zero crafting but alot of maps to compensate like other zombie games. As a result completely skill based and no gear factor.

Then as example in this game below which have very little maps for 4 years, very limited in content…But has hundreds of combinations of gear to the point 4 years later YouTubers are still coming out with new builds. Hundreds.

Tom Clancy’s Division 2 Coop PvE. Same boring missions for 4 years. But check out the gearing.

  • 2 weapon slots, with 3 attachments
  • 1 side arm, with 3 attachments
  • 6 gear slots, each gear slot has one core attribute only either damage, armor or skill. Also 2 additional attributes like Critical Hit Chance and Critical hit damage.
  • 2 talents (like blessings)

image

The attributes on gear possible you can roll on.

image

I won’t even go into how each gear has a different manufacturer to grant additional bonus if combined.

A bit more imagination than simply 2 weapons, 2 damage perks and 2 blessing/talents.

That’s how people still like playing the same boring missions. They just find new ways to approach the missions, not just out of optimisation but fun factor as the talents (Blessings) can also have very wild AOE effects like mass bleed, mass burn, explosive etc. Big and loud, weird and wild. Sounds like a porn film…

Gonna be interesting to see the juxtaposition of remnant2’s player count vs darktides from their opening months. They both started out at around the same peak player count, so it’ll be a neat comparison.

It’s pretty entertaining to me that the first Remnant has similar numbers to Darktide right now.

And rightfully so, Remnant is a good game. The second needs some work to clean it up but it’s a great base.

I mean attachments won’t come in a day. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

But can we have little something first…maybe just a red dot. Not even a sight frame, just have it float in middle when aiming down sight and pretend it is a magic underbarrel laser that works when aiming. Guns with spread, have circle of spread limit. Nice and easy right…just one dot please…
