Yeah obviously. It’d be questionable even if it only lasted 5 seconds. At 15 seconds it looks like a bad joke. My eyeballs almost leapt out of my head reading those buff numbers.
No I don’t actually.
They’re far more reasonable than what it is currently and more in line with the cooldown/uptime.
Knocking down the duration to 10 seconds would work if it’s still too abusable.
The attack speed cap goes down from 35% to 30% and still lower than Handmaiden’s 45%.
Power cap goes from 65% to 40% & the crit cap remains the same
Finesse increase is indirectly reduced by the power decrease.
The catch is, players can only reach 1 of the above caps.
Moving 30% movement speed to Repel shifts a stat buff out of Radiance Inheritance, decreasing it’s value.
A Sustenance of Leechlings used to convert 10% of temp health to permanent health.
I dunno why they changed it, now it can be somewhat cheesed depending on the group comp.
I think that is another questionable balance decision.
…You do have a good point.
Her approach to combat is pretty set, most variable build i found involved javelin, pale queen and radiant to enable that.
It is completely unnecessary to improve on Repel as it is already an excellent talent. Also, it would effectly mean that you have a permanent 30 % movement speed buff which is just another form of completely broken.
I also don’t see the point of shifting around the bonuses from Radiant Inheritance for a career where even the complete removal of RI would still leave her super strong. All this regarding that she is meant as support career. Why does she need so much crit chance and AS and power anyway?
But not here to discuss this. I want to stay focused on the main point. RI is at the moment not sustainable for game balance.
So what are we going to buff the 2 other talents competing then to be on the same level? Maybe you see the problem now? Its simply way too good and buffing the other 2 talents to similar level is not happening.
I honestly don’t even buy the uptime argument. Something like GK:s F is on 40-35 seconds cooldown and it has pretty similar impact but that is on his F ability and not just some random level 20 talent.
Rest of your post I simply disagree with and I will leave at that.
To be fair, when not paired with doomsight and bloodrazor radiant is suddenly much less crazy.
Still a tad bit too strong but not outrageously so.
She clearly isn’t one, dedicated support careers are dumb.
Currently Radiance Inheritance is too good…
Take a step back and look at other careers, the suggestions are almost in line based on the uptime.
I consider Radiance Inheritance a F ability, it’s on a 60 second cooldown with a 25% uptime.
I’ve suggested cutting the effectiveness of Radiance Inheritance by more than half, what more do you want?
I suggested moving a couple stats into other parts of her kit because her neutral game is possibly weaker than other careers. A lot of her damage comes around ulting.
How much value “A Murder of Spites” provides is up for debate.
And this just further proofs that the career is perfectly playable without radiance.
And I still think its too good. Don’t need to further convince me we just simply disagree here.
Damn, hard disagree. I love support careers. Would love to contribute to a team effectively in a way that is interesting and isn’t just kill kill.
A lot of the new career talents move in that direction - walls, zoning weapons, ultra push. It’s the incredible dps stuff that just makes her feel like all the other heroes.
What I’d love is team temp hp generation in the vicinity of the walls maybe as an option, or alternatively larger / curved walls. The burst vine kill ult just seems out of place. And then berserker mode if you spam it is also kind of antithetical to what I see as the theme of this career.
Don’t get me wrong I also love support gameplay.
But this isn’t a Moba, MMO or PVP game so I think full on dedicated support careers feel out of place.
Quoted from here: [PC] Vermintide 2 - Sister of the Thorn - Available Now! - Announcements / PC Release Notes - Fatshark Forums (fatsharkgames.com)
“Today we are excited to announce that the new support career for Kerillian, the Sister of the Thorn”
Say what you want. Sister of the Thorn is meant as support career.
What they intended and how she plays are two completely different things.
e.g RV is “meant” to be a jack of all trades/hybrid support career but can dominate DPS wise.
Sister of the thorn is mostly tame but has a few options that sky rocket her DPS too.
Anyway… I’m agreeing with you Radiant Inheritance is too good.
A Sustenance of Leechlings and Morai-Heg’s Doomsight can both be cheesy depending on the group comp.
Thornwake need QoL tweaks, enemies often ignore and walk/attack through Thornwake. Thornwake obstructing vision can feel bitter when it happens.
I agree with you Repel is really good, it offers a lot of horde CC.
Just not so much against elites.
Does anyone know if Javelin not being able to be replenished through ammunition is the way Fatshark intended or is it a bug? I would have thought at the least you could retrieve them after throwing but now you have to rely on the talent + conservative/scrounger if you ever throw.
With Opportunist and Spear you can go long ways. It doesn’t stagger everything (have to test how far it goes) but it works substantially well against most elites. On faster weapons like dual daggers it also makes dealing with hordes easier. Also with Stamina Recovery you can use it each 1-2 seconds which is very good.
Walking through should not be possible. Getting attacked through the wall is probably a side-effect of enemies attacking the wall. Because we know that while walls are concrete they aren’t for weapons for magical reasons (and most of us have abused this ourselves). This should only happen though if the wall is placed in a way that enemies can’t circumvent around it easily. Have to play more to be sure though. I don’t think they “attack the players” through the Hedge.
As for the rest. We have a clear and actual statement on Fatsharks intent this time (considering we don’t have this for most of the other careers, the initial release descriptions might be overhauled) so it is fair to give feedback on that basis. So I would like to see the emphasis kept on the support aspect which is well portrayed through the healing buff and the abilities of the Thornwall.
Just to make sure: You know that pressing and holding “R” does “reload” the Javelins?
Well, the Javelins might be magic so it is to expected not finding them in Empire ammo stashes. Same for the Axes.
Yeah sadly enemies have walked and attacked through the wall on multiple occasions.
When I first heard of Thorwake months ago, I expected it to be more like brambles.
Summon an arc or ring of shallow brambles/Thorn bushes that drastically slow enemies.
The reduced visibility feels like a double edged sword to me.
Javelin should trigger traits with its melee IMO. Other than that I say FS has been hitting home runs with the new classes
Yes, because we all want elfs running around with permanent hunter uptime. The class just ain’t strong enough. She needs to trivialize the entire game.
Radiant Inheritance could easily be knocked down to 15% move, 15% attack speed and still be best in slot. Not because the other talents are weak, but because that’s basically Slayer ult on elf and I’d be fine with that.
Doomsight should be max 3 stacks. Could even make the stacks timed (like 20 seconds) because holding onto 30+ free crits until Inheritance is ready is excessive.
I don’t know the lore about the Sisters of the Thorn, so correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think an elf should be hitting harder than a Grail Knight.
Down from twenty-one properties to eight and still better than a good amount of damage boosts on careers skills that got a longer cooldown and a far shorter duration.
Inheritance is not something you need to setup, or work to be available. It needs one button press to be there for 15 full seconds. It doesn’t matter if its waves, a single monster, or a patrol.
There is not one Talent in the game that grants that amount of boosts on demand for 15 seconds and there shouldn’t be. If you had to do something wield for that to unlock, like kill a bunch of specials, or three dozen elties to have your next Radiance get you Sigmar level buffs it would be somewhat okay. But just having it sit around on a readily available cooldown is ridiculous.
And this is JUST ONE of her damage Talents she gets for no work what so ever. Three 100% crits for any used career skill in her team, stacking up to at least nine? Not so long ago people argued that ONE 100% crit for a bunch of ranged headshots would be to good of a talent. Elgi bias in a nutshell.
Noone even talks about Murder of Spites, because she murders cata monsters, and patrols before Saltz can complete his second “ELF!”. I didnt even care to test how it works myself, nor if Venom Thicket stacks with WHC and Shrapnel, since its missing the famous “does not stack with similar buffs” line.
