And think at the new ones or at least the ones with little time: how shall a player level 4, 8, 12 classes in the future!? Let alone get the materials, coins, … and not to speak about having fun.
We want to play with each other, have fun together, not speed-run missions to get them on at least two chars/ week or grind mindlessly to get ONE new weapon here and there (which will be get “destroyed” most of the time by Hadron because of RNG (wrong blessing/traits), so even more grind).
Leveling new characters still feels awful being broke and without even one decent curio to assist higher difficulty grinding. Shared resources is a must I’m still flabbergasted they took so many systems that were working and were amazing away to make it more tedious to enjoy this game.
Would be quite nice if some CMs would show the spine to take on the criticism right here and now, its a forum after all. The smug silence as if they are in the right direction they are taking is infuriating, even if its just a game…
I really fail to see any kind of actual interaction with the community, lying about how you are listening and caring does not cut it.
Edit: Obviously I am overreacting, as this setting and game is something I put quite a lot of hope in, not to mention resources. Can anyone honestly tell me I am wrong with this wish, on the subjective level
?
100%. Additionally, there’s no reason why weapons can’t be in one pool for all your characters, with the ones that are not usable by a specific class greyed out.
I’ve rolled solid lasrifles on my Psyker which I’d have loved on my Veteran, but game arbitrarily says no.
What’s interesting:
Weapon skins and skins can be bought with Dockets, so we already have shared coins for the whole account, just indirectly.
Really, the work to give access to all coins and mats for the whole account should start immediately. It will only get worse if there are even more slots for operatives/ and new classes/archetypes down the line.
Agree on this. With the pain of contracts, shared resources should at least be the basic thing they do if they keep contracts annoying and grindy as they are.
This is without doubt the single most “hearted” post I’ve seen on this forum since its existance. I’ve also never have seen any community feedback disagreeing with its content. But the problem is that FS has done this deliberately because of their DeSiGn PhILoSoPhY. And even though we’re repeatedly being reassured that FS is taking our collective feedback very, very seriously, their actions so far show that the very opposite is true. So don’t hold your breath.
Poor Hedge and Aqshy. They keep having to placate us with loads of büllshit, while probably having their own reports on community feedback falling on deaf ears with the studio. Wouldn’t want to have their jobs right now.
They have said they are looking into it. I also wanted them to give an update on this and I think in general, yesterdays community update was kind of lacklustre on what’s going on with a lot of voiced concerns even though those were adressed last time. But I think it’s a bit hasty to suddenly ignore what the update before this one talked about it.
Progression Siloing and Shared Ordo Dockets
Since launch, we’ve seen feedback from many players requesting shared progression across characters to ensure a smoother progression loop. Our designers are taking this feedback seriously and are discussing how to best implement a solution that meets our players’ desires and gameplay goals while also striking a balance with the game’s design intent. This is a sizable endeavor, and its feasibility is still unknown, we hope to be able to share more information on its progress at a later time.
I think it’s safe to say they are looking into this even though we didn’t get an update yesterday.
Sure, they could realise it’s not possible or not what they wanted to do and trying to sweep it under the rug, but I think it’s too early to assume that’s the case.
I would like to think the reason they made currency per character was to make us invested in the characters we created. That’s not a bad idea, but the implementation clearly proves it didn’t work the way they had hoped. For a lot of us playing, we want to level all the classes, and jack up all their gear. It would be nice if the curios were across the account, but that doesn’t bother me quite as much. The currency does though. I work long hours all week, get home play a game or two, find a couple scriptures, then I’m off to bed. So by Thursday or Friday I maybe have one character done with Melk’s contracts. So if I want to get contracts done for one of my alts then it’s a weekend long scramble and it feels a lot like work instead of fun. Being able to share currency would really make it easier for me to make progress.
Hopefully they meant it when they said they’re looking into it. I’ll keep chugging along and maybe in the future this can happen.
Just started my alt last night, went to buy whatever white items were in the shop, didn’t have enough money. I was shocked, none of the money I earned on my main was there. None of the other items were there, wtf!? It worked so well in vt2, why change it!? How does it make sense that I find a great piece of gear that multiple characters can use, but can’t because that item is bound to my other character? I was really looking forward to trying new characters but now, maybe not, consider the grind to get the first one up and running.
Like I don’t get it, vt had this, diablo has this, etc… This is a massive qol step back.
