Why, in the Emperor's name, are crafting mats STILL per character?

It was never an issue in VT2, but NOW it’s a problem? All you’re doing is forcing people to paint themselves into a corner and focus on a single character. This problem should be nonexistent, but you INSIST on keeping crafting mats separate instead of pooled. It makes no sense in any capacity. You want “Marks” to be a weekly thing per character? Fine. I’ll live with that. But make crafting mats account-wide ffs. This is ridiculous. You want us to play, but you make it so tedious that we burn out and stop playing altogether. It’s a ludicrous strategy.

Weekly tokens ought to be shared too, really, and the shop for other characters accessible from any character so you don’t have to constantly reload the hub.

What, does the mobile game design with hard-core computer game load times not feel pleasurable to you?

I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again. If they made Aquillas and blessings account based, they have the ability to do so with the currencies & crafting mats.

They’re just choosing not to, because they think their outrageous character siloing “design intent” is better than the vast, overwhelming feedback against it.

I know fatshark needs to make money and I have nothing against that. But I play their game because its a good game, not because of their heinously bad loot grind design. Its so unrewarding I’m not sure how they think it is going to capture any audience at all. If they want my money they should introduce interesting and lore specific and unique (not remix) archetypes and/or classes and I will pay for those. Or I will pay for super sweet cosmetics.

100%. I bought every DLC for VT2 (except some of the later cosmetics) because I played the game a lot and overall enjoyed the process.

I’ll let you guess how much DLC from Darktide I’ll be buying

we need a playable minigame to keep us occupied during the load screens

I also have every dlc for vt2, though none of the cosmetics (except for some career dlc cosmetics that came in the pack). I very rarely buy cosmetics in games, but I do buy content. Many people have mentioned that their “player retention” should be based on content releases and not casino gameplay.

Does not remove the 2008 / 2001 / 4008 or whatever 50% of the time but at least switching is fast when it works.

I’m of the same mind.

Well what’s funny is that apparently they didn’t expect the level of player retention they did with VT1 & 2 at all. So…this is what happens when they actually try to design a game around player retention.

Turns out making a game fun, and not making players feel like their time is wasted makes them want to come back. Darktide is designed to waste a lot of time, and a lot of the mechanics are objectively making the game less fun for people. What’s frustrating is it seems they’re keen on just…not really addressing any of it as an issue.

Agreed, would also be SO NICE to see weapons shared across classes at some point.
