Additional Features and improvements

Dedicated “Controller” Options section
We’ve added a range of new ways to customise your gamepad experience, all in a new dedicated section in our Options menu.

Tagging wheel “Cheer” option
You can now find a new “Cheer” option in the tagging wheel, which you can use to spread the glorious word of the Emperor throughout the streets of Atoma.

Input, Interface and Controller

  • Xbox Only: New controller layouts: we now have 7 presets for controls - this is for Xbox only for now
  • PC Only: New interface user setting: Flash Taskbar
    • Flashes the Darktide icon in the taskbar when the game is not in focus and requires attention.
  • New interface user setting: Center of Screen Dot
    • Shows a dot at the center of screen for weapon actions, if no crosshair would otherwise be shown.
  • New interface user setting: Input Hints
    • Enables or disables onscreen input descriptions when wielding for example grenades, luggables, or auspexes.
  • New input user setting: Wield Input Wraparound
    • Enable to continue selection at the bottom or the top of the HUD weapon/equipment list when using the mouse wheel.
  • New input user setting: Separate mouse sensitivity sliders for non-ranged weapons, ranged weapons, and aimed/braced ranged weapons.
  • New input user setting: Toggle ADS/Brace
    • Toggle Aiming Down Sight (ADS) and Braced aiming instead of the default hold to aim.
  • New input user setting: Always Dodge
    • Always perform a Dodge regardless of directional input.
  • New controller user setting: Response Curves and Response Curve Strengths
    • Transforms the inputs according to a linear, exponential, or dynamic curve to allow more control with different amounts of right stick input.
    • Non-linear curves can be adjusted via the Curve Strength sliders to increase/decrease the effect of the curves.
  • New controller user setting: Separate controller sensitivity sliders when using ranged weapons, and when aiming/bracing with ranged weapons.
  • New controller user setting: Vibration
    • Enable or disable controller vibration completely, together with an intensity slider. Furthermore there’s sliders to control gameplay vibrations (hitting enemies or shooting for example) and immersive vibrations (level events like trains running past for example) separately.

Commodore’s Vestures

Rotation Changes
Commodore’s Vestures will next rotate on 5th October.

New Bundles
With this update we’re introducing a new level of cosmetic bundles which contain items that have required a longer production cycle than usual - due to this these bundles will be priced at 2900 Aquilas. To accommodate for this, we have introduced a new pack containing 2900 Aquilas alongside the existing offerings. One example of this is the next rotation on Thursday 5th so keep your eyes peeled.

Note that this pricing is only for these specific bundles, denoted by a golden icon, and that existing bundles priced at 2100/2400 will keep living alongside them.

Bug fixes and QoL changes

  • Updated gamepad button mappings and inputs in several places across the game to improve the overall user experience
  • Fixed an issue where Wargear preset loadouts could sometimes not be switched.
  • Improved the display of missing items that were added to a Wargear preset loadout and are no longer valid.
    • Items that have been replaced now show a yellow exclamation marker
    • items that cannot be replaced will show a red exclamation marker
    • A red marker in a preset invalidates the entire preset. A player cannot make a new preset based on the invalid preset, nor the items that are marked as red get equipped on the character.
    • To remove the markers, the player needs to select a new item to update the preset data with valid items.
  • Fixed issue where the new item marker would not disappear after the item was seen by the player. We also now display in the cosmetic section what cosmetic categories have new items.
  • The replace perk feature now only accepts a player replacing the same perk for one of higher level
  • Players with large quantities of items will experience better performance when browsing their inventories
  • Players can now join or invite other Strike Team members while being in matchmaking, in mission, or in Psykanium training after having completed the Prologue
  • Resolved an issue where players sometimes did not show up eligible for invitation in platform social menus
  • Fix for some Option values not being properly retained upon changing and restarting the game
  • “Resetting to default settings” should now consistently work for the Brightness and Aim Assist Settings
  • Fixed an issue where parts of your character would disappear when going back and forth in the Character creation flow
  • Fixed an issue where players could become stuck in a black loading screen if attempting to join a mission at the same time as the last player leaves
  • Fixes for crashes which could occur if the players network connection is disrupted or lost
  • Rapidly purchasing items at vendors should no longer reset your selection back to the initial option
  • Several fixes related to text and UI (text not being translated, images overlapping text)

Known Issues:

  • MS Store, Xbox Series S/X - In some edge cases, the “Recently Played With” list in the Social Menu, is not updated from the last mission. There will be a fix for that soon.
  • Due to an issue causing players input options to be reset whenever swapping Controller layouts, we have temporarily disabled the option to swap layouts on PC until the issue has been resolved. Players will retain the layout option they had previously chosen.

this means if the wepon you have has 0 in damage then its damage will change from 200 to 250 for its base.

if the damage stat is 80 the damage has changed from 360 to 450 base

that make it a bit clearer?

cool, so we can soon get cosmetics that are close to 1/3 the price of the game instead of just 1/4. How uh, how is that even remotely justifiable or are you just looking to gouge some whales? People have already been saying over and over the cosmetics are overpriced and this is the response?

If I may, I would like to ask for a bit of clarification about what this change means exactly; does it mean that, if I want to change my T2 stamina perk on a weapon, I can change it into any other perk, but only of T2, T3, or T4? (In the limit of the current mod-locking system of course)

And, if that’s what the change indeed is, may I ask what was the reason for it? I genuinely don’t mean to sound negative, I’m honestly curious and struggling to think of a reason this would be implemented.

hey a bunch of buffs for totally fine psyker gear instead of adjusting the force swords. I’m ok with it, I guess, free buffs for existing but why not adjust the clubs too? I think in the current game balance the shovel will almost obsolete it, unless you really enjoy hitting crushers in 2 hits with a perfectly rolled club.

Weird. First you introduce coherency system, to try forcing people into staying together, and then you make a skill tree for zealot allowing him to bypass coherency with Loner node which automatically gives him coherency of at least two when hes alone.

The damage here is a bit confusing to me; each additional target takes more damage than the previous (except the 7th)?

In the hopes that extra visibility will get an answer. I assume it’s because there would be no point to swap to a lower tier perk (of the same or different type), other than the cost difference. Although realistically, unless you really want to swap perks right now and lack the funds for T4, there’s no reason not to pick a T4 perk.

Well I don’t wanna defend the decision but in the OG design Zealot had the worst time managing toughness without his ults, which was an odd choice for the class supposed to be in the thick of the action. I do not intend to use this ability, but it is there now.

Yeah… Also, with how OP Zealot and especially Ogryn seem to be, I think taking the “pros” feedback wasn’t that good of an idea.

Just some slight nerfs to iconic weapons apart from Plasma which just got the Gets Hot buffed.

Guess it’s time to go for Recon or autogun if Vet tree is still full of rending.

I haven’t tried the update yet, of course, but looking at the showcases on youtube, I’m a bit disappointed by the psyker who is my main character with a revolver.

I feel like the “Yondu Blades” are the only really good ability, but they all have the same issue; underwhelming FX (just like the staves) and I personally feel like Fatshark still hasn’t managed to design a cool looking “space wizard”.

The shield ability can probably be strong in certain situations, for example on that map where you have to use the servo skulls before you go out to defend the train, but it feels like it’s very situational.

I’d rather delete the monsters in front of us before they can do anything than pretend to be a “support class” in a game that, in my opinion, does not yet allow for support playstyles.

Ogryn, my alt character, is the clear winner here with three different play styles that cover all the bases.

This is, of course, a very personal opinion.

I can understand it for balance reasons but sad to see the surge staff do less damage against armored targets (because of metal conductivity).

A lot of cool things I would love to try here… but the crafting system will not permit it :stuck_out_tongue:
