* Shop Checker Browser Plug-in makes it easier to check shops remotely and keep an eye out for high rated itehms and/or desired blessings.
Dev Blog: Into the Maelstrom

Updated but still remains an issue. Now it’s two locks shared between 2 perks and blessings. For curios it’s much easier with 2 perks swappable vs one. This still creates an annoying system to use apps to look for gear in brunts and to constantly check the store and swap between characters.
Shirtless There was a bug that allowed players to unequip tops to show off their tattoos. Expected to have little uplift, re-introduce the bug or make it allowed. Should be no reason to not have this, since lore wise shirtless isn’t much better than going to combat in prison garbs. N/A NO UPDATE.

Solo mode This is to allow players to play games by themselves. * Solo Play mod allows you to specify all desired mission parameters, with the caveat that it only works in solo-mode and doesn’t provide any progression.
* Tertium 5 is a bot mode that integrates with the solo play mod, allowing for customized bots
* True Solo QoL - additional solo play options
* Unspeakable difficulty modifyer mod that interfaces with the solo play mod.

OVERDUE: December was original target.
Editing all aspects of character after creation Currently, if you want to change your voice, height, background, name, etc. It cannot be done. It is not reasonable to ask players to delete their characters to start over.
According to Devs/CMs on Discord this has been deprioritized.

Action Item: FS to deliver timeline for implmentation/communication on more details. Earlier communication can generate earlier feedback so dev time isn’t wasted.
Better bots/ bot customization Allow bots to have better gear and to scale with the difficutly, as a minimum, if the strike leader cannot edit them or use their own characters like in VT2. Allow commands for bots (pick up grim, grab ammo, etc.) For penances, there should be a cease fire command.
Potential to scale bots not just with difficulty but player level and same gear score as the player as well. Taking highest, lowest, or medium values in games with more players.
None directly in live/hosted games.

Changing load out/character before mission starts Currently, if you are joining into a map, you could see the same classes using the same weapons. Being able to quickly/easily swap to other characters or loadouts would allow for better team composition and diversity.
As part of this, there should be more info on what the other members in the strike team have equipped and setup.
* Show Weapons in Lobby mod allows you to toggle between displaying team’s melee and ranged weapons.
* Loadout Monitor Mod provides a chat command to see detailed load out information for the team.

Fixed a bug that prevented players from changing loadouts in the Mission Ready screen.

This is fixed, however I am leaving this item here as there is a desire to have more information as to what the other member strike team players have in their loadout to have this feature be more useful (knowing what weapons and perks they have).
Balancing of weapons, blessings, and perks There are a lot of balance issues here. Weapons that are useless without a blessing, a blessing that doesn’t work on a weapon, etc. N/A ONGOING (Resolved?)(04/10/2023)

Patch 13: Class Overhaul Part 2
Changes to secondary objectives There is a lot of discussion on how secondaries are handled. Players rushing ahead, others staying to look for secondaries (exacerbated by random spawn locations), and the risk/reward is seen as too high. This likely needs to be reworked to allow for promoting better team play and encouraging the risk to be worth the rewards. None directly.
* Book Finder mod adds a configurable sound/notificaction indicator when close to books

ReForm Strike Team This was working but was removed as a feature. This should be re-added when working. None directly.
* One More Try / Many More Try Mod allows you to replay a mission with the current strike team.

Flash Missions Currently there are penances and achievements to unlock from flash missions but it is unclear what this is and what it will do. N/A NO UPDATE.

Curio perk updates Remove +XP from curios and more resources. These are generally seen as undesirable by all players, especially after reaching level 30. N/A NO UPDATE.

MourningStar shortcuts Players must manually walk around the ship to see different menus and waste time. Shortcuts or a menu to bring up the various systems (crafting, cosmetics, meat brinder, barber, weapon shop, etc.) would save a lot of time. Joining Game issues Currently there seems to be a bug where if you join a mission in progress it doesn’t count towards no player deaths. There should be a more consistent experience and allow this to count, or allow players to choose where to join games in progress or in the foyer. It is presumed this is to prevent people from cheating but I don’t think this implementation is worth it. If joining PUBs makes it more efficient to finish some Melks quest I think that is a fair trade off to promote players playing together. N/A NO UPDATE.

                          Widely Requested Enhancements			

I wanted to include these in a separate list as they would be nice to have, but not as large a priority from what I can see.

Requested item Description Status
Story mode A lot of players were anticipating a campaign mode to the game based on Dan Abnett marketing. It would be good to have a comment on if anything is planned for this, or if we can get commitment it isn’t happening.
Weapon Attachment System References to older dev logs mentioned swapping weapon attachments. Swapping sights, flashlights, bayonets, etc. on weapons. It would be good to have a comment on if anything is planned for this, or if we can get commitment it isn’t happening.
Official Modding Support This would be good to have if a lot of the above cannot be fixed. Something similar to the modded realm in VT2 so that maps, modifiers, and gear can be chosen by the players in a way of their choosing.
If not, at the very least, since mods are resolving so many issues for players getting official mod support would help to alleviate the pain points.

More weapons, maps, cosmetics, etc. Just in general, more players expecting more due to the marketing of live service. A roadmap, even with tentative expectations and expected cadence would help. It is assumed this is delayed for console version, and hopefully to resolve the critical issues above. It would be good to have a comment on if anything is planned for this, or if we can get commitment it isn’t happening.
More voice lines based on character customization Players want more to hear and see their voicelines matter more based on their choices, as well as to have more voice lines in general. It would be good to have a comment on if anything is planned for this, or if we can get commitment it isn’t happening.
Less loading screens Not sure on the technical uplift but players want less loading screens. It would be good to have a comment on if anything is planned for this, or if we can get commitment it isn’t happening.
Penance improvements Have better trackers for keeping progress of what to do for penances.

Allow penances to be completed in solo mode, or allow them to be done in multiplayer mode if all players agree to it (like a vote kick option, if all players agree penances are enabled)

Premium Cosmetic Store There has been much discussion on why the premium store in Darktide is not similar to VT2. Main issues are:

FOMO rotation cycle: Available cosmetics are rotated in and out applying pressure to force people into buying. The cosmetic store style of VT2 seemed fine and this promotes bad feedback. Fatshark commented part of the reason for this is to have a less confusing layout but most agree this reasoning seems to fall short or be more of an excuse.

Aquilas currency seems quite stingy and originally designed to force you to buy in bundles that are not efficienct. To promote better consumer convenience and less frustration Fatshark should either A.) Remove Aquilas and charge real money for cosmetics, or B.) allow Aquilas to be grinded in game. Again, similar to VT2.
It would be good to have a comment on if anything is planned for this, or if we can get commitment it isn’t happening.
Join lobby in foyer only This is for people who only want to join games with randoms if they haven’t started the mission yet, as some wouldn’t want to join while in progress. It would be good to have a comment on if anything is planned for this, or if we can get commitment it isn’t happening.
Darktide Chaos Wastes implementation I haven’t heard too much asks for this, but it would be a good idea. Probably not something Fatshark is even thinking about right now, but would make sense as a long term idea. It would be good to have a comment on if anything is planned for this, or if we can get commitment it isn’t happening.
Melk Improvements Currently weeklies are reset entirely regardless of progress. There is an ask to bring some of the convenience and functionality from VT1/VT2 where if progress was started on daily/weekly tasks that it would continue over, or, you could use a limited number of holds so that it wasn’t reset at the next weekly reset. It would be good to have a comment on if anything is planned for this, or if we can get commitment it isn’t happening.
Cosmetics rework (more options) Players have been asking for more cosmetics options for both paid and in-game earned cosmetics. I am uncertain as to what would constitute a resolve for this based on player feedback, and there obvioulsy needs to be incentivie to use the paid comsetics vs the free ones to justify it’s existence (remarks aside as to whether it should exist).

Allow colours to be swapped (like DRG style?)
-Swap more components of the cosmetics (boot and glove slots)
-Change decals
-Change armor attachments
-Add more varied “free” cosmetics to penances and ordo cosmetic shop
Cosmetics need a rework too, right?

Details from the Devs would be great as to if this is something to expect or should be considered off the table.
                          Reported Technical Issues

I wanted to include these in a separate list as they would be nice to have, but not as large a priority from what I can see.

Hit Registration issues Seen reports of players mentioning that hit registration has become worse since launch. This is obviously hard to narrow down, as to whether this issue is geographic dependent, distance from servers, some new issue with net code introduced in a patch etc.

Ray Tracing turning back on This seems like an easy win with little technical uplift, patches should respect the current players configuration when applying so that player don’t think the new patch has caused stability issues when it is just a graphical setting that has turned back on. It would be good to have a comment on if anything is planned for this, or if it is acknowledged as an issue to work on.
Weapon swap speed Players have mentioned when switching their weapons that the key input isn’t recongized. Stability performance/General bug fixes This is just general stability issues players have mentioned, not much can be done here since it’s too broad, but can be updated with technical details/tickets. Fatshark seems to be relatively responsive when it comes to these if the appropriate details are provided. ONGOING. This will be an ongoing and never ending item. Similar to balancing.

Off the top of my head:

  • Re-add/fix the feature to form a strike team after random mission to keep playing with the same players. (was there originally but was pulled from the game)
  • Social features are barely useful, inviting people after the mission is nigh impossible.

As a lot of ppl are complaining about it, maybe update the Map selection section with “Making sure that there is always a hi-Int STG among the Damnation missions”.

Gotta say, that’s a really nice list.
You really put a lot of energy into this.

Pretty sure they won’t cave on the map selection, thing.
But the other points were all either promised at some point or mentioned to be worked on, some were already ingame features that broke (i.e. Stay as a Strike Team after mission feature).

I just used excel. Surprised it transfers nicely to FS forums (I think their forums is actually formatted well). Just figured I may as well use some of the PM/meeting note stuff I do at work and use it here lol.

It would be cool if bots scaled to your level and their weapons matched the power level of your items, just with random blessings/perks

I dunno about all of this. I don’t think our beloved catfish is going to print this out and slam it down on the conference table during the weekly meeting…

I can see it now “We’ll look into this” per month basis. FS handed things on a plate on what to do they still won’t do it. Modders have handed things on a plate, FS still won’t do it. They can’t even put together a table/checklist. Too much excel work. 200 people and few paragraphs update.

Then later on “Where did it go wrong? Pretty sure we did everything right”

It’s like one of those reality shows like Kitchen Nightmares USA and can be a comedy:

  • “My food is really good, not sure why I am not getting enough customers. Must be the area, same area where other restuarants seem to be doing well though?”

  • “Those bad reviews must be just small minority of haters. OK hundreds of haters though hmm”

  • “Food tastes good to me. Must be good for everyone right.”

  • “My business is not making enough money. I know let me increase my prices, so I’ll make more money”

  • “My chef is a friend, really nice person. I want to keep him even if he is bad at cooking.”

Those examples share one common theme. “Being in denial” and producing excuses that there are external factors beyond one’s own control

It’s not related to topic. But it’s the concept of missing something so obvious and resistance to change that it has detrimental consequences.

On this note, I don’t see a single reason why characters shouldn’t share common weapons. This problem will only get exacerbated as more classes get added since I strongly suspect that new classes will be unique characters. In vermintide I could use the same sword on Kruber’s Mercenary/Hunter/Foot Knight/Grail Knight careers. I didn’t need to grind a fresh executioner sword every time. I don’t see how that’s any different than using the same kantrael, or chain sword, or laspistol, etc on multiple characters.

Agreed, the forum is the best working software they have.

It wasn’t really pulled as a fearure, from what I remeber, they just disabled it because it didn’t work and then never fixed and re-enabled it

I hope/wish they eventually reciprocate the mission board criticisms.

The only thing that should be random are missions modifiers, difficulty should be selectable, i don’t know how much longer we have to beat this drum it’s so strange.

I agree. I just don’t know how they will handle classes in general for darktide. I would add it in if there was something more concrete on that… Although adding a line item for classes being released every quarter and that being overdue probably deserves a line.

Even just thinking about inventory management in Darktide across all characters makes my eyes roll into the back of my skull.
