Jeez, it took this long for them to tell us crafting will come in a few months? Like, why wasn’t crafting implemented on launch as it’s a core part of the game or why wasn’t it added in December like it was promised!!!
Come a few months time, it will be “next week”.
Most incompetent developer award goes to you Fatshark.
lol
That was supposed to be their #1 priority according to the devs in this thread:
But i guess that’s been thrown out of the window now as they haven’t got a clue what the issue is.
Hello guys!
Thanks for the apology, although it’s still very VERY VEEERY little communication from your side and it has taken a MONTH (this is ridiculous for a company with hired CMs and atleast elementary understanding of planning community updates in 2023) is there any chance to get perhaps a Roadmap of what’s to come so we have something to look forward to? I’m personally okay with not having specific dates, but atleast just seeing a simple infographic with what’s the course of updates / fixes / content etc. would do wonders and would answer dozens of questions at once without people swarming CMs who are not - as you can see by the terrible reviews - very present in the community. It’s easy fix, give us ROADMAP, we need a lot of the questions answered.
Cool story bro
Eh… I let you guys know what I thought on discord, so… yeah ok, apology is nice, but this announcement is very small, very short, and doesn’t actually tell us if FS is working towards systems that would actually help with the RNG or the crafting etc.
Since it seems that perhaps (hopefully) major redesign is in the works, and crafting is a long way out, could you guys please dramatically reduce current crafting costs in the meantime? So we can at least not have to grind forever in an unfinished game to use the crafting lottery and hope for good blessings whenever we upgrade? Can you at least do that?
And, y’know, buff Psyker. Whatever.
Hi,
AFAIK we only have hotfixes planned for this week but I will try and keep you all as updated as possible on that front!
Our internal roadmap is undergoing a lot of changes right now as we make sure the game is in a good spot before we start adding new elements to it. There might be an external roadmap going forward, but its not something we can commit to at this stage.
Seriously, what took so long?
Lot of people you won’t win back.
Yes, we are working on releasing some bugfixes this week that tackle various crashes and are working on being more consistent with rolling these out in the future
Hi @FatsharkCatfish, thanks for posting.
Can you tell us when can we expect the community update ?
I agree, it feels exactly like that.
It read to me that it’s kinda getting abandoned until it re-Launches later as “Darktide 2.0” with all the launch features in and polished, but nothing in the mean time for those players who choose to keep engaging and playing the game
So many words to effectively say nothing at all. An absolute nothing burger that is bound to upset people more than anything. How can Fatshark possibly think ignoring their entire playerbase for a month and then telling them you’re going to ignore them for a couple months more is going to go over well?
Now we are players and not rejects. Yeah. They know they screwed up here. They can call us rejects again when the game is in better shape.
I have mentioned this before. Game development takes time. It will not stop taking time just because they didn’t finish their game on time, so the few months scenario is probably accurate and is when the game should have been released.
I don’t know what forced their hand on this one, but with close to 100 hours into the game I wouldn’t ask for a refund even if they offered one. I see little malice here. I’m convinced that many of the devs are passionate about the project. The mission gameplay is amazing and to me trumps Vermintide (even though I miss the close combat focus).
So yeah. It’s really sad that they had to release such an unfinished product. My guess is that they were backed into a corner and had no other choice. But they won’t throw anyone responsible under the bus, and with how the community reacts who can blame them. As for who dropped the ball (Tencent, management, designers, devs, all of the above) that I won’t speculate too much on.
As it stands now I have a group where we meet and play once a week, but the hard-core members are not playing on other days like they used to in VT2. They enjoy playing with us, but they don’t enjoy the game on its own. This is sad. The core gameplay, to me, is absolutely stellar.
Blah Blah Blah.
I smell some bad stink…
the shareholders don’t read some obscure lead designer’s interview but real figures.
AFAIK we only have hotfixes planned for this week but I will try and keep you all as updated as possible on that front!
This is what people should have expected, you can’t fix fundamental system issues in weeks, let alone months.
Our internal roadmap is undergoing a lot of changes right now as we make sure the game is in a good spot before we start adding new elements to it. There might be an external roadmap going forward, but its not something we can commit to at this stage.
Give a rough idea of what is coming in a few months once a full fledged plan has been committed to.
A lot of us are angry because this game seems to have been designed to extract money from us. And this is a justified stance, especially with the hourly refreshing weapon shop being directly beside the cosmetics shop. And worst of all, the cosmetic shop being the place you have to walk past before you get to the weapon shop.
^^^
Get specific fast, get micro patches out fast, or don’t play with us.
Yeah, we’re angry, some people won’t be coming back. Be good to those who will. Saying ANYTHING is a good start, but it needs to be followed with solid material quickly.
I really don’t care at all about this, and I don’t care about the physical location of the cosmetics shop. Cosmetics shops are solved problems. There is nothing difficult in their design so it’s not strange that that was finished. Relatively junior devs can do it.
I care that the rest of the game is not finished. The cosmetics shop is simply something I don’t care about wether it’s there or not. I’m not using it, but I’m not going to be upset about it after the last changes they made. I would much prefer a cash shop (like Vermintide 2 had) than a funny money shop but that’s another issue.
I mean if those hotfixes focused on the amateur LUA errors that prevent a ton of blessings/perks/feats from working properly that could be considered new content. But I hope there’s rebalance too.
Good. Thank you for the communication. See you guys end of Q2~2023!
You don’t have to accept an apology, but the gracious thing to do if you don’t is to just walk away.
