To add to this, the actual knights of Morr are silent when on duty, which really wouldn’t fit the rest of the game very well, with all the chattering and callouts that go on constantly.
That is actually wrong, or at least incomplete.
The Knight of Morr have 3 vows they can/have to (Depend on the edition/lore) follow:
- Silent: Depending on the source it was either full on silence or they could still give orders and basic war discussions (Giving informations, advices and thing like that)
- Stoic: Can’t crack jokes/humour and can’t laugh (It would be amusing to see Saltz try not to laugh and failing
- Name Forgotten: Must stand against the undead till death to protect the temple/Priest
To note there are no Warrior Priest of Morr due to Priest of Morr all having martial training
Other orders of Templar and agents of Morr:
- Raven: Composed of Veteran Witch Hunter and agents of the Shrouds, they are the aggressive sister order of the Knight of Morr
- Fellow of the Shroud: Agents and informant of the armed orders of Morr, they also are supposed to have agents in the Megister of Shysh (Though it wasn’t specified it they were servants or Magister themselves)
- Black Roses: Noble version of Knight of Morr
- Sister of Faith: A Nunery that became a militant order, they are quite succesfull and fought with Valten during the End Time (Or Storm, I’m not sure)
- Ostland Black Guards: It’s not truly a Militant order but are often associated with Morr, Ostland is the province where Morr is the most prevalent
There was also a mention in the 2nd edition (I think, other wise it would have been in one of the White Dwarf publication) of the Rpg about a Shyish Magister order that was under the order (or payroll) or the Cult of Morr
As far as I’m aware they have to follow the first two, and a generic “do your job” vow. Unless there’s something extra in 3e/4e I’m unaware of, the black guard are the only real outright warrior order, instead of being hunters of some variety or priests.
There are other types of Morr follower, you’re right, but they’re not really relevant to this game. A generic black guard style character you could almost justify fighting alongside the rest of the U5, but the more specific groups are hyper focused on fighting the undead, which aren’t in this game.
Quoted vows from 2e
Vow of Stoicism: The service of Morr is to be taken seriously. BlackGuards may not laugh or make jokes, whether on duty or not. Their stoicism is sometimes unintentionally humourous, but this does not constitute a breach of their vow.
Vow of Silence: Black Guards may not participate in conversations while on duty. I f asked questions by superiors of the Order, Black Guards may answer, but only with the minimal number of words. The vow of silence does not apply to combat situations, when Black Guards communicate in Battle Tongue.
Vow of Sacrifice: When faced with undead attackers, Black Guards must defend Morr’s temples to the last drop of blood. Against living opponents, or when facing the undead on neutral ground, Black Guards are permitted to conduct a strategic retreat if the situation warrants.
It’s just generally speaking a very dour, very single minded group of people who don’t fit the game very well, or Saltzpyres character that much, considering he’s so focused on the skaven, pivoting to undead would be silly.
But they aren’t strictly silent, they can still talk to give/follow orders, but they are supposed to use the fewest words possible
Well the Cult of Morr also hate the Skaven because they often raids cemeteries and often use the catacomb, which the Priest of Morr greatly dislike
Ye they can talk to each other and use battlespeak when necessary, it’s mostly just the banter that wouldn’t work very well. You’d need a whole new set of conversations just for that one character, most of the stuff Saltz says outside callouts would need to be changed.
That’s what I was going off for the black guard idea, like pro-actively guarding cemeteries lol. The others just tend to be stuck in this perma-hatred of anything related to Nagash, which is very intolerant of them.
It’s not intolerance, it’s common sense, all those Nagashizar follower are a threat not on the Chaos God level but still pretty high
Anyway, Morr will not appear in this game/series most likely, but, if they did a Undead centric game one of the Character could be a Priest of Morr or a Wind of Death (Shyish) touched or Practitioner
Cult of Morr Character:
Weapon: Empire Weapons, Scythe, if needed spells from the Wind of Shyish (Though I would prefer a separate spellcaster of Azyr/Heaven, Chamon/Metal or Ghur/Shadow, or an elven Mage to have a larger panel of spells)
- Priest of Morr: (Support) Lightly armoured, supportive abilities
Threasold Lines: Can cast lines in from of you blocking lesser Undead around you - Knight of Raven: (Ranged) They hunt the undead
- Knight of Morr or Black Roses: (Melee/Defensive) They protect the temples, the cemeteries, Priest and holy Artefact

Well, this time it IS about Saltzpyre. But man, this may heat up speculations again before we then get the release of the career and now it for sure. Considering it released this late I wondered if they would go for a release today (still possible but still think that Friday evening would be quite unfortunate).
Normally Fatshark offers a live on Twitch the day of the quarry release?
Even if I would have liked it to be today, Friday is tendax with the weekend. But on the one hand, when there are minor bugs on the career (including the challenges) are corrected a week later.
I’m very glad he’s finally talking about Victor, since the time.
It’s weird, I always felt like he was going to bond with Morr. But I’m crazy ^^
But on the one hand, a warrior priest I find it too simple.
Do you think we could see his appearance on pro week?
I, who have been waiting for it for a year and a half … I’m going on vacation for 2 weeks on December 15th. I feel that I will cry if the career arrives when I leave … xD
But, the chapel which was built for / by Victor. Is it in the fort? Above Victor’s quarters? at the old forge? @Adelion
Good question, the exact whereabouts of the chapel have not been disclosed as far as I know. It is not in the game as far as I know.
If we speculate and take “lurking down” literal it could be somewhere around Victor’s old quarter. So below Lohner’s Emporium. Would have to check if it matches with the Chaos Wastes hub geometry though. Could also check the first time the chapel was mentioned. Maybe there was a word or two where it was standing. Old Forge is Chaos Wastes hub I think.
The fort would be at least surprising as it would mean that Fatshark has to model it.
If the chapel is in the fort, I will see it very well at the old forge personally. Suddenly, we crossed the chapel to reach Victor’s room. Which would be fine I think. He becomes very attached to a “religion” (in quotes to arouse the doubts that we have, even if we think for the most part that he remains linked to Sigmar)
After that, it remains to be seen if they will incorporate the chapel into the fort, since I do not remember what they said on this subject (Certainly because they never mentioned it elsewhere)
But I can’t wait to see this career, is as Victor tells Kerillian: You will see all the power of Sigmar
There is this whole standalone tower though - that would be a nice candidate for a chapel, but the phrasing of this latest entry does not really bode well for that idea…
If I were to put a chapel somewhere “down” in the fort it’d be there :
But I thought it was down in the village though
I figured that’s where a chapel would go as well
Anywho, this journal felt quite uncharacteristically morose and somber, to me.
It’s a bait and switch to get Morr posters at it again, ain’t it? Trying to distract us from the Rat-Catcher hints, no doubt!
It is confirmed completely but it was the impression I got as well:
"Maybe I’ll pop down to the village and have a chat with old Lutonius, the astromancer. He’s not exactly the sharpest needle in the haystack these days, but he might be able to shine a bit of starlight on what’s got Olesya so rattled.
Might stop by the chapel as well. Saltzpyre might be a blustery old buffoon, but the thing about bluster is that it’s delightfully reassuring …"
from: Franz Lohner’s Chronicle – Something on the Horizon — Warhammer: Vermintide 2
It sounds like it is near the village or on the way there. I can’t remember right now where the chapel was mentioned first time. Because I seem to remember some words about the village there as well. I don’t think it is in the fort.
EDIT: Look next post. There it is implied that the Chapel is indeed in the Keep.
So … it’s settling. I don’t need to post the screen I took xD
And yes, @dannylew8299. We come back to the god Morr again. The chosen words as well as certain sentences are rotated so that its coincides with Morr. And not with Sigmar.
Knight of Morr would be very interesting. Especially with all the speculation about the living dead, the return of a necromancer etc … It would go perfectly with the rest of the story if Fatshark continues like this.
But the problem is, we’re talking about Victor. Victor from the start he was guided by Sigmar. Despite his unsuccessful appeal at the Citadel, he continues to take oaths to Sigmar.
But on the one hand, as I said: A warrior priest of Sigmar, it’s too simple for my taste, everyone expects it to be that ^^
Same post, just a bit up was the one I remembered.
But any hopes I had of a peaceful interval faded as soon as Saltzpyre started preaching again. I mean, he’s been at it on and off for most of our brief association, and it certainly spiked when he sequestered a chapel for delivering his fiery sermons.
Maybe it was already mentioned back in the carnival of masks ones.
Hm, quick checking through some of the Lohner’s Chronicles netted this:
“Saltzpyre only wants a bloody chapel building in Taal’s Horn Keep, doesn’t he? And there was me thinking only a few months ago that the man was losing his faith.”
from: Franz Lohner's Chronicle - Leaps of Faith — Warhammer: Vermintide 2
Which heavily implies that the Chapel indeed is devoted to Sigmar. And also:
"It’s all go around here again. Saltzpyre’s taken it upon himself to convert one of the outbuildings into a chapel. Spending a good deal of his time in solitude, he is, and doesn’t seem at all inclined to share his thoughts. "
from: Franz Lohner's Chronicle - A Prison of Ice — Warhammer: Vermintide 2
Both text passages heavily imply that the Chapel is indeed in the Keep O.o Although not sure if there are outbuildings we don’t know or if they mean the ones we have access too.
I just hope corpses won’t turn up there.
I think there’s a non-null possibility of saltpyre having his own chaos altar.
It could also imply that the Chapel is in between the castle and the Village
