Lore, Careers and Questions

Well play.

This is why I had doubts and why I really thought that the chapel is in the fort.

For those of you who aren’t following VT on instagram, they posted this message :

Veiled in mystery behind our six-part riddle, lies a thing much coveted. If you’re up for a challenge, stay tuned for the next three days and speculate away!

I’ll post the six images here as they post them over there.

Well, the first one doesn’t have much option as the english hasn’t that many single letter words: “I” or A"

Second one, is too early to say. Could be “good”, however i wouldnt lock that in it.

The greater question is why Fatshark goes to super-extra mile this time by hyping up the release and presenting it at the game awards. Is a greater announcement following? Or is it just the Christmas mood?

A BBB? :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol jks we all know that’s always last on FS’s priority list. I guess teaser for Victor’s DLC career? But why play hype games with this one in particular? Maybe a Sienna + Victor double career release for Christmas? Admittedly that also seems very doubtful.

Will be fun to see the speculation though.

Pretty sure that is a set one. Still seems strange to me. Either they expect the totally-not-warrior-priest new career of Victor to be a hype-flagship because of its iconic presence or they have an announcement larger than that.

Just so that I can later say: “Told ya.”: It will be the announcement for the long expected, much hinted next expansion, the Estellia/Bretonnia Undead Campaign!

(Or addition on Chaos Wastes, or a major Weaves rework or … nothing).

But as we still haven’t been told what happened at the Citadel and the characters being so mysterious about it, I think it will be more than just the new career. Some kind of continuation for the story.

Dear god please no more expansions till the current ones are in a better state.

A continuation of the story sounds quite likely. Definitely seems like there’s more to it than just a new career. I’ll give them credit for creating mystery and suspense, I just hope they can follow it up properly.

So what do people think about the letter away from food clue? I feel like “good” is almost too obvious. Only other possibility I can come up with right now though is “fool”, which is definitely a bit of a stretch. Anyone come up with any other possibilities for this clue?

Fond?
Fold?
Wood? (now that might be a pleasant mood XD)
Foot?

It’s a dog. :dog:

That is a good suggestion. It would fit with the “describing a pleasant mood” part. At least within my understanding of the english language.

Just don’t know in what kind of sentence this would make sense :stuck_out_tongue:

So for now we have ‘A fond…’

I’d take the first clue to be less literal. I can think of many “one letter” words who could fit, like “queue”, “are”, “you”, but my bet would be “why” as that very easily starts a sentence.

So “why ____?”
Not sure what the second word would be. It’s also possible that you’d have to add a letter, instead of replacing it, like “flood”, not that this particular one would make sense. Ideas?

I did consider “abbreviated” one letter words. But in my opinion it wouldn’t fit with the Warhammer setting. For now, I would take that single letter hint as literal. As for your bet, while it can easily start a sentence it very rarely stands in the middle of one.

Also something i did consider. But without consulting a dictionary I just couldnt much words, less words which do fulfil the “pleasant mood” notion. There is no word with adding a letter before food. There is one word for adding a letter after the F (Flood). There is no word with adding a letter between or after the two Os. And there are two(?) words for adding a letter at the end (foody, foods). At least as far as my vocabulary is going. Technically, you could also go down to three letter by removing one. But there isn’t much choice there either.

Replacing a letter seems the most reasonable. We will know more tomorrow and after receiving more riddle parts. To bad that the current pace implies that we have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to get all six parts and already today so we have more time speculating.

“A fond farewell”

And vic is killed. His last career is a ghost.

“A good hammer” could fit so far. Can still mean a lot depending on what comes next, but “hammer” would imply something Sigmar-y? Or not if the rest of the riddle flips it around…

Somewhere else someone made the suggestion: “A good anvil fears no hammer.” which is an italian proverb which means that you do not fear hardship if you are prepared.

However, I would agree that “Hammer” is a better solution for this part. Because you can break shards better with a hammer, and a hammer is also the instrument in the hand of a blacksmith similar to the pen to the bard.

So yea: “A good hammer …” So maybe:

“A good hammer fears no evil.”
“A good hammer serves greater cause.”

Something along these lines. I think we get another part later on this day. They don’t have that much time until game awards left. Seems like some good hammertime is coming for Victor. Which reminds me that this is a fantastic time to finally realize that Hammertime mode Fatshark presented some years ago!

The anvil would fit better for the paper, while the pen of a metalworker would be the hammer

A good hammer is the arms of a good fighter will do the difference (Sorry Kruber and Bardin)

As an Ironbreaker main I resent this comment. It goes in the book.
