Franz Lohner’s Chronicle – It’s Geheimnisnacht all Over Again — Warhammer: Vermintide 2

Hm, interesting. Daemon in the Weaves? Like the lore Weaves or the gameplay mode Weaves? Also Catrinne mentioned again as well as some unknown guy. Interestingly, enough it seems to confirm that Catrinne is a living and breathing person if she can become a maggot factory.

I wondered who that was. Perhaps it’s a reference to the Geheimnisnacht presentation?
“Then one lass chucked a rock at a celebrant and the rest flung themselves at her, eyes aglow and murder in their vicious hearts. It all went downhill from there.”

Well, something’s on the horizon:

Franz Lohner’s Chronicle – Something on the Horizon — Warhammer: Vermintide 2

Good thing, that Fatshark totally does not imply some larger scale changes within these lore texts -_- Disturbances in the Winds is a broad term. But considering it is the End Times, it might really be just unspecific lore. Some minor info on who Lutonius is.

Also, preaching intensifies!

Tomorrow, the day of the chronicle we celebrate the 1 year of the release of “Outcast Engineer”.

I’m expecting something from Fatkshark regarding Victor.

The last time, for SoTT we had the right to a small video of barely 10 seconds I believe on social networks?

I’m not deep into Vermintide’s lore, I just did a basic research on Bardin’s past 'cause the voice into the Chaos Waste made me curious with the voiceline about his daughter…so, keep that in mind.

Still, I want to make an agrument about Saltz 4th class. I do not think is something we do expect like a cleric, vampire or things of sorts. Here’s my reasoning:
Unless something like Grail Knight happens and, who knows, he finds the silver hammer of Sigmar…I’m positive Saltz won’t have a class builded around his devotion 'cause it’s been a while since he’s loosing it. BUT I do not think it will be something so radical to go even against his nature like a vampire (watch FS proving me wrong with a random news bomb tomorrow and actually release a cleric).
So, what’s left? I honestly do not know, I was thinking on some sort of change of heart and become a paladin(?) devoted to protect his companions but that would be too similar to Markus, so no. My other idea was perhaps a mage of sort? But that wouldn’t make any sense, same reasoning as why in my opinin he will not turn into a vampire.

I’m open to FS surprise, I just hope it is nothing like most of people expect to be, I wouldn’t dislike a cleric I think but there’s so much about his doubts and the “heretical party”…I simply cannot see him as something related to his devotion anymore.

Problem is: what then? Vic is just a human, what he could possibly turn into to help the team in a new way? Again, I honestly do not know…I’m open to suggestions, even if its “Of course it’s going to be a cleirc, you’re simply wrong”. Just give me a decent explenation on why, I like reading people’s opinions, they may even change mine.

You are correct that good old saltz had some strong…second thoughts, about the whole expedition but in one of those weekly journals released after that at some point it was noted that his faith was renewed and he even went as far as building himself a chapel somewhere in the keep.

It hasnt been stated outright to whom the chapel is dedicated but given that Lohner goes to listen at times we can guess that saltz is preaching for Sigmar or at the very least, some divine approved by the empire.

So right now it´s strongly leaning in that direction, maybe not warrrior priest given his age and build (thin) but who knows.

See, I didn’t know about the chapel, I’m glad I did ask. It makes me feel a little better about Vic, since I heard his monologues I felt kinda bad, such a strong faith going away was…sad.

I would have to check how the class names in the RPG are. However, Warrior Priest is actually more like a traditional Paladin by smiting the foul existence of Chaos and less like the classic Cleric which concentrates on healing and protecting but drops like a fly. Granted each system has nuances and in D&D clerics can also become capable fighters. But for me Warrior Priest would be more similar to Paladins. Same fanatism. And all information we got from in-game dialogues and Lohner’s diary sign towards more “devotion”.

Fatshark obviously could left out the specific entity to confuse us. However, if Lohner’s Chronicles are written halfway consistently and in-character than Lohner would have totally mentioned if the Chapel was devoted to anything other than Sigmar. In some kind of surprised, shocked, cheeky manner.

It’s mostly my bad, I do intend cleric and priest as the same thing, which is probably wrong

I would have to look up the difference myself :stuck_out_tongue:

Cleric: Clergy person(general term)
Priest: Cleric that can perform services

In 1 hour maximum, I think we will have our answer concerning Victor.

But what we got from the last Chronicle is that the chapel has finished being built? As Victor begins to “Preach” again and continues to take “Flaming Oaths” (A sign of the 2-tailed comet? Sigmar?)

And so the newly-introduced character from five chapters ago is already dead. Worst of all, Lohner made party alone in the daemon tower instead of taking the U5 with him.

And no word about Saltzpyre :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, very disappointed.
1 year and a half that I await the career of Victor, even if I finished 100% of the challenges of the game, it is only him that I really like to play. I’ll have to wait another X years maybe, for a career …

And it’s here:

Franz Lohner’s Chronicle – A Slaying We Will Go — Warhammer: Vermintide 2

“In fact, sometimes I wonder if this world was created for the express purpose of us all battering at each other with whatever comes to hand.”

This meta reference is kinda evil :stuck_out_tongue: And yea, no word about Undeads or Victor. Although, I am not surprised as new careers always came with their own lore text anyway.

Also, now I wonder what is in the ink of the Slayer tattoos and how the U5 would look with orange hair O.o

I will underline these 2 small sentences there:

“Ever known a Priest of Morr who doesn’t have a strange way of looking at the world”
&
“The interior of a chapel to Morr, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Skulls and roses everywhere”

Strange? We talk about a provisional peace, that the gods of chaos are sometimes funny and there change of subject we are told about the strangeness of the priests of Morr as well as their chapels.

But tell me, who went to build a chapel? Who went to preach after the construction of a chapel and who is doing sermonts?

I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

What do you think ?

Here, gift @Reorx ^^
that may interest you. Even though I am very attracted to a Warrior Priest of Sigmar, the Knight of Morr attracts me just as much.

To be honest, I am almost 100 percent sure that Victor can be anyone - but not a follower of another God. Most of his phrases are tied precisely to Sigmar, a huge part of his frames is also connected with Sigmar. They would have to remake the whole game, but then it would no longer be Victor, but another character. It might also be interesting for me to see some priest of Morr, but until I see it with my own eyes in the game, I won’t believe a gram, even if there are whole diaries of Franz about Morr.) Victor is too connected with Sigmar, in all respects

Anything is possible I think of @Adelion who shared so many things with us including one at the beginning of the thread that I liked:There was a very interesting subject about Victor, related (without perhaps knowing it) to Tzeentch. And I loved what the Reddit guy did.

Whether this is true or not, there are so many possibilities. The history of Warhammer is huge, beautiful, and very, very complex.

But the lore of our Ubersreik Five is also getting more and more magnificent and just as complex. It’s really super cool, Fatshark does a great job!

They did it to Kruber and Kerillian without remaking the game. They didn’t even need to change existing frames or keep decor for it.
