Starting… basically today, I’ve been getting this every 15-20 minutes. Get booted out, error code three thousand something the first couple of times I try to reconnect, then it lets me back in.
Also had abnormal latency in normal play but my internet connection has been otherwise fine.

Since the most recent update I have had almost 100% bug replication.

I play often with a friend using crossplay (PC gamepass) and everytime we play I am disconnected at least once, but normally twice or three times.

When I am playing by myself I will sometimes not have any issues at all while playing, and sometimes it will be just as bad (2-3 disconnects).

It is absolutely not my internet connection as Darktide has never had this issue before, but more importantly, other internet based applications work fine even as I get booted from the server.

This started occurring after the update and at first I thought it was maybe related to the new map, but I have also been kicked out of maps that have been in since base game.

Any movement on this in 1.2.21?

1.2.21 does not improve the situation. Still get regular (1-3x a match) lockups and/or disconnects with error codes 2014 or 2001.

edit: aaand this bug just ruined my first run of the new assassination mission, locked up and disconnected right at the final showdown and got my team killed :slightly_frowning_face:

I pretty much can’t play high intensity missions due to this bug at this point. The game locks up or disconnects 3-4 times a round which usually ends up getting me killed or losing all my health. On high intensity shock troop damnation losing a team member is often the end of a run.

Been running fine up until today. Now I can barely be in the Mourningstar for more than a couple of minutes until it crashes with this error code.

I think I may have found the root of the issue, and it was silly.

The AMD Adrenaline Edition software (video card drivers) by default has some hotkeys enabled for things like recording video, which defaults to ctrl+shift+e. That button combo is easy to hit in Darktide (sprint, slide, interact). I was accidentally toggling video recording and I think that’s what led to the lockup/desync/disconnect behavior. After turning off those hotkeys in the AMD software I haven’t had a disconnect.

Ever since the Talent Tree update in November, the game has gotten to a state where I just can’t play it anymore. The game was already laggy and I always had a low chance of actually being able to start a mission (ever since I got the game during the Skulls sale on May 30th) but now there is a 0% chance of getting into a game without being disconnected and sent back to the operative select. The game also has a high chance of crashing when attempting to connect to matches now, a problem I didn’t experience before the update.
I don’t have an old or weak PC (AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card, 32 GB of ram, got the PC just about a year ago) which makes me believe the problem stems from some kind of hardware incompatibility, but I’m not sure.
I reported this problem to customer support shortly after the Talent Tree update but I’m posting it here because it has worsened and to see if anyone else has the same issue.

Just checked my router as I have also been having issues with Teams at the same time but mine is set to IPv4 already unfortunately. I’ll see if a software update is available just in case.

I wonder if all the people experiencing this are on AMD graphics cards. I have a 6800xt. Could be a driver problem from AMD or a bug in Darktide triggering an edge case in AMD drivers.

I’ve tried with both ipv6 enabled and disabled (I’ve got a Unifi setup connected directly to the fiber ONT so I can configure it however I want, no ISP router). I don’t think that’s the source of the issue. Are you by chance using an AMD graphics card?

my only guess is that the card is just too new (december 13 2022) and they havent optimized the game for it yet but it could be something else entirely. i tried running the game on my brothers pc (exact same build but the graphics card is modified a little) and got the same laggy results

Starting today I have constant error 2014s on my Nvidia laptop, on the Pathogen refinery mission.

Nearly one month later. And still no solution. I really liked the game, that makes me sad.

I don’t think graphics card could cause a server error message. To answer your question, on my PC I have a GeForce 3050 card, but it also happened on my Xbox Series X, and as I stated my problem resolved as soon as the router got updated, sot this definitely seem like a network related problem.

Similar to other reports: Load to character selection, load into Mourningstar, get disconnected back to character screen with “Disconnected from server: Error 2014” code.

Gameplay in Mourningstar is laggy and rubberbands. Character will continue movement for avg of ~1.5 sec after releasing input.

Managed to load into a match, but the above rubberbanding forced me to leave.

Steps taken to resolve on client end:

Restart computer
Restart router
Ensure internet connectivity (Note: Speedtest from Ookla shows a notable 140mbps drop in download speed when loading into Mourningstar). Internet speeds from idle are ~450mbps, in-game 300-310 mbps.
Run batch file from Darktide Mod Framework to ensure mods are disabled
Delete mods
Verify game cache (Note: Steam did find 1 file that needed redownloaded)
Verify that the above file repair did not work (Note: it did not)
Reinstall Darktide, including removal of %Appdata% files.
Confirmed the above steps did not resolve the issue, but the only times I was able to load into the Mourningstar and further into a match was AFTER reinstalling clean.

Logs below do not include previous game installation, only the clean install. Latest log was the match that I was able to load into.

EDIT: Important section I forgot.

This error only began today (Sunday, December 17th, 2023 ) at approx 10:30 p.m. UTC. On the previous installation, I was playing for about 3 hours with no issues. I took a break for about 3 hours after this playtime. Upon returning to play, I began to receive the 2014 error. This is especially strange because another player in my house, on the same WiFi, was playing Darktide with no issues. I can confirm that they were playing while I was receiving the errors. We do not run VPNs. The other player is on older hardware than my computer, but it is similar to mine in processing power.

EDIT #2:
Speedtest from cloudflare confirms data speeds for internet connectivity (idle speeds410mbps versus 430-450 from speedtest by Ookla; Log-in from character selection shows drop to 370mbps)
DNS flush did not resolve the issue.

EDIT #3:
Confirmed error again by going into character equipment screen. Loadout had issues- specifically curios with little red exclamation marks in their item cards- including all currencies failing to update to current values (Note: they all read as “0” until connection resumed. Cloadflare speedtest shows massive 200mbps drop when interacting with the inventory management screens- this includes Character Equipment Selection and all NPC vendors for equipment. Packet loss was not detected, but received packet latency increased by 2 times. Confirmed speed again which returned to 380-420 mbps range after closing program. This data loss is equivalent to a 788 MB update (In this case, Remnant II as the test download). I am not seeing signs of hardware failure on my end to explain the network activity loss. This appears to be, from my layman’s point of view, an issue with the inventory system on the backend.

Please reply when available so that I can discuss possible workarounds whenever possible.

Fatshark use that Microtransaction money to upgrade your servers because right now playing the game is downright annoying with input lag and rubber banding in match.

I would love to have rubber banding and input lag instead of lockups and disconnects, but yeah, please make the next patch about stability, I don’t care if there’s new content.

i finally solved this problem. i turned off compatibility mode and ran the game as an administrator and i can finally play it like normal
