Ok ignore the part about switching back to your home internet, causes issues. Just stay on the the phone hotspot

At least I can switch to wifi… I will test now. If it does not work good, I am screwed… end of darktide. I cannot play with a giant ping.

The workaround works. you can play normally with a connection that receive a backend error on the login screen

Likewise; just tested hotspot on a phone with Vodafone SIM, and I got to character select. I swapped back to Ethernet, then selected my character.

I’ve been able to complete 1 mission (Rolling Steel) successfully, haven’t tried Mortis Trials yet.

EDIT: With the game installed on Xbox, that gets past the splash screen as well

I Have tried various fixes stated in forums such as verifying game files, restarting router, etc with no success.

I am from the US, and my ISP is Windstream.

Vodafone Ireland here too, exact same issue. Nothing I try with my home internet works

Did you try the workaround? Try an other point of connection (wifi if you use ethernet, but you can use mobile hotspot or anything), log into the game, switch back to your main and working connection.

I provided a video of what happen on my computer. This is CLEARLY not linked to the provider. I use wifi wiith Orange provider and it does not work. I switch to ethernet, SAME INTERNET PROVIDER, and I don’t get a backend error.
So same internet provider but different result if I use wifi or if I use ethernet. See video, this is how I can continue to play darktide with a connection that is refused on the login screen.

Backend Error on launch since the . I’ve made it in a few times by just closing and reopening the game, sometimes it just worked normally, unsure on reason

Game was modded before the update, tried with mods enabled and disabled, no difference.

I’ve added in a couple console logs as they appeared rather different.

Reset PC and Router
Flushed DNS
Changed DNS between Google and Cloudflare
Cannot enable UPNP nor Port Forward as ISP doesn’t allow access.
Allowed through firewall
No effect with VPN
Uninstall and Reinstall
Deleting AppData and verifying files.

It’s really bizarre. I tried swapping from wired to WiFi, didn’t work - hopefully it can work for others.

I ran Fiddler to try and inspect what was going on - there are plenty of successful requests, but in the logs uploaded, there is a timeout (Deadline Exceeded) occurring. That said, I don’t know what the exact operation being run is - the Darktide source repo hasn’t been updated for the latest patch yet

Looking at your logs, the error code is different

Hotspotting to a Vodafone SIM then swapping back to wired at Character Select works.

Launching the game on my Xbox works. I can’t remember if that was on a wired or WiFi connection, but it’s on the same home network.

New update

Using expressVPN with the wifi permits me to bypass the backend error (login in is far longer than login without VPN on ethernet and switching to wifi).
This is the same internet connection, but it goes through the tunnel of expressVPN.

Game update “Hotfix #63 (1.7.1)” did not solve the Backend Error issue for me.
Did this update fix it for anyone?

Just letting you know our Backend Engineers are investigating, I hope to have more to share soon.

Since the Nightmare and Visions patch, I’ve been unable to sign in, continuously getting the “backend error” (no error code). It’s been three days, and I still can’t log in. I’ve reinstalled the game, updated my drivers, reset my internet, and tried other devices, but the issue persists. I’m at a loss - I imagine it’s a server issue, but I’m worried because not many people seem to be reporting it.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

Yeah I am also in the same boat. Still no fix unfortunately. I did upload my logs and picture for this. If anyone does find a fix for this that would be great.

I don’t think it is the cause, but I am not a dev :wink:

VPN workaround has worked for me, thanks for posting it.

Day 4, game still not working :pensive_face:
Hope I dont miss out on redeeming the Twitch drop rewards.. they need to be claimed not long after unlocking them and I still haven’t been able to access Darktide to claim them ingame :((

Have you NO way to try the workarounds? (VPN, using an other connection mode)
