Hotspot doesn’t work for me unfortunately.

Issue Description:
Since the release of the Nightmares & Visions patch, every attempt I have made to sign into Darktide have been met with Backend Error: Error signing in
approx 1 minute after pressing Space at the splash screen.
I’ve attempted
Prior to the update, I’ve been able to log in and play without issue (as recently as yesterday evening, 2025-03-24)
I have noticed a Deadline Exceeded
being reported in a stack trace within the console log, but I can’t determine what operation(s) it is associated with

If you have unlimited hotspot I’d recommend trying that, seems to be the only working solution I’ve found as of yet

The issue forbids me to log in the game when using a wifi connection.
Due to an electric problem, I cannot use wires… something I could until december of last year… But now, I have to rely on wifi.
Before this problem, that I cannot solve without physically destroying a large part of my kitchen (so won’t happen), I had good ping with Powerline networking adapters and RJ45 wire.
But now, my download rate is 10% of what I had (500mb/s now down to 50mb/s) and with increased ping.
So I would like to use wifi.
I have found a way to do that… however this is extraordinary annoying… see in this video… basically, switch to the wire, log in, switch to wifi…
As usual, this bug does not happen for other games (obvious, but let’s precise it).

Thanks… however, considering the work around I showed you, this is clearly a connection entrance refused by your server.
Just noticed we are both in Ireland with Vodafone, might be something?

It’s plausible, but given the other reports, it’s hard to see if that alone would be the issue.
I haven’t yet tried to hotspot (An Post Mobile don’t support it ) so I’ll need to borrow someone’s phone later to try it out.
Also, @xeonzs thanks for pointing out the pinned thread. I genuinely have no idea how I missed it, even though I did find the other Backend Error pinned thread (which hasn’t had any recent replies).

For me it works with Orange on the RJ45 cable, but does not work on same provider, same internet box but in wifi.
And both use the SAME IP.
I’ve created the poll below so we can attempt to identify any patterns in ISPs. Please only vote if you’re experiencing the Backend Error

Yeah it’s hitting me in Ireland with the listed provider as well; unfortunate.
can you test a different connection mode?
RJ45 if you used wifi and wifi if you used rj45
I disabled my Ethernet and swapped to onboard WiFi, no success.
Once I get a chance, I’ll try hotspotting (with a virtual network operator using Eir’s network)
EDIT: Just tested with Cloud Gaming on Xbox, and that allows me to get to the character select screen. I’m gonna install the game on disk, and try again with that.
Error - Backend Error
Hello, I cannot play Warhammer 40,000: Darktide since release of Visions update.
Game starts but does not pass login screen with error stating “Backend Error”.
Have tried various fixes stated in forums such as verifying game files, restarting router, etc with no success. I am using a vanilla version of Darktide with no mods.
PC software and hardware is up-to-date, using Windows 10. I am from Canada, my ISP is Bell and I generally do not have internet issues. Latest Console log is attached. Please help.

Game update “Hotfix #63 (1.7.1)” did not solve the issue.
Ok so I was able to get in game by connecting to my phone hotspot (my phone is with a different ISP than my home internet). Then once I got in game I switched back and it seems to be working fine. Awkward work around but it works.
I accept to do that 1 week or 2… but an hotfix is needed.
I won’t log in like that doing multiple manipulations…
