KNOWN ISSUE: Backend Error After Nightmares & Visions Update

Due to an increase in reported Backend Errors since the latest Nightmares & Visions update, I’m creating this post to help keep all reports and information in a centralised place for our developers. Existing and new posts relating to this error will be merged here.

Please help us investigate this issue by:

  1. Sharing your region and the name of your ISP with us
  2. Attaching your most recent console log. These can be located using the relevant instructions below:

Steam

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\console_logs
  4. Locate the console log that corresponds with the session in which the issue occurred, by looking at the timestamps in the log names

Microsoft Store

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\MicrosoftStore\Darktide\console_logs
  4. Locate the console log that corresponds with the session in which the issue occurred, by looking at the timestamps in the log names

Hi. I have backend error which appeared after i patched the game.
I did:
Originally game was moded but i had removed all the mods and made a fresh install
changed DNS
Checked all the instructions and followed them on Backend troubleshooting article: https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/articles/15602844489757-Backend-Error
Still cant play the game.

Thank you, all looks okay on the account. Are you able to connect to a mobile hotspot or VPN?

Unfortunately i do not have VPN, but connected through the Hotspot via Wifi, and the result was the same. I was unable to pass the backend error promt.

Also worth noting is the fact that all the game frames including loading windows, laucher windows are sorrounded with Green frames.


Those green frames happened before and after new install.

Im affraid i can’t. Once reinstalled i do not have any logs that i could provide. The catalogue is empty.

Each time you close Darktide, a new log should be created - do you still have the client open? If so, please close it. :slight_smile:

No log was created. Im out of game client, steam client etc.

Have you exhausted every solution here, or are there some remaining that you could try? :sweat_smile:

I had followed the steps of the article, but nothing helped. Yesterday the game worked perfectly fine, but once the patch was installed i could not access the game. I will reinstall it, and try getting the logs, but as im launching game it doesnt create the logs nor Roaming files at all.

Since the update today I have been unable to log in. I just get a backend error. I have tried resetting my router, PC and Steam, re-installing the game entirely, verifying game files. nothing works. Any help would be appreciated

Tried flushing DNS, no change unfortunately. Only other thing I can try is port forwarding I guess.

Same issue since patch. Nothing helped so far.

I had this same issue last patch. Try closing steam completely and reopening it. Also tried reinstalling steam and that fixed it for a while and then it came back, but closing steam and reopening always worked for me. Hasn’t happened this patch yet.

Unable to login to the game after the most recent patch. Have never had any issues with the game prior to this moment since release. Have tried multiple things such as disabling/ removing mods as well as a full reinstall multiple times.
