KNOWN ISSUE: Backend Error After No Man's Land Update

We’ve noticed a small increase in reported Backend Errors after the No Man’s Land update.

We’re looking into it, and updates will be shared in the comments below and linked here as we learn more.

In the meantime, please help us investigate this issue by:

  1. Sharing your region and the name of your ISP with us
  2. Attaching your most recent console log. These can be located using the relevant instructions below:

Steam

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\console_logs
  4. Locate the console log that corresponds with the session in which the issue occurred, by looking at the timestamps in the log names

Microsoft Store

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\MicrosoftStore\Darktide\console_logs
  4. Locate the console log that corresponds with the session in which the issue occurred, by looking at the timestamps in the log names

This is a little irritating because i’ve played vermintide since day one, vermintide 2 since day 1, and darktide since beta day 1 and darktide has been the only one of the bunch to ever give any sort of connectivity or game issues.

Edit: I tried my hotspot again and it worked, but very unreliably. I should also note that my ISP is quite literally worse than north korean internet so if that could be the issue i’m not surprised, just confused as to why it worked before but not now.

Ever since I did the update to the game, everytime I log into the game, it gives me a “backend error” message and then sends me back to pressing “space” again to start the loop all over again. I have never really had an issue with the game or the servers until now and I’ve been playing since Vermintide 1. This is very disheartening because I’ve purchased the DLC for the Hive Scum and now I cannot even play it.

I am not able to log into the game after the hive scum update. My wife and friends are able to log in but I am not. I’ve tried using my wife’s machine to play with my account and I am able to which suggests that it is not a network error. Here’s the list of things I have tried to do to remedy the situation.

  1. Uninstalled mods. It is currently a vanilla install with no mods.
  2. Used VPN. I have attempted to use ExitLag but to no avail.
  3. ipconfig /flushdns /release /renew
  4. Added exceptions in the firewall for both the game and EAC
  5. Drivers are all up to date
  6. Deleted fatshark data in appdata roaming folder

SEA region, ISP is called True, playing off my hotspot.

Having the issue too (bought the game just yesterday).
Could login and play for 10 minutes yesterday night before stopping and today/tonight it’s not working anymore
