Just remove trapper. Itâs never interesting or fun.
Yeah trappers are a total joke. Pure fun-sponges as their attacks are broken and rarely fair.
Its the 2 trappers that occupy the exact same space but fire at slightly different times/angles that drives me insane. The other day I had that happen and also a third trapper from the side at exactly the same time. By some miracle I missed the attacks but it is still total BS.
Silent trappers are also pure filth.
Yeah, I recognize that. I go up to free a team mate from the net and boom, second trapper in the first trapper gets me.

See but if you mention changing the trapper, People come out of the wood work saying that trappers are fine how they are when they probably use specials tracker mod + vet walls on only auric and refuse to play havoc.
Like how do you even justify this other than âtrapper has to be a big threatâ
If you try to explain anything regarding trappers and how they could potentially be changed where there is actual counterplay, people just get upset and argue the point that if the trapper got changed or reworked it would break the game or you could just walk to the end of the level while holding block with 0 issue. (as if the game works more than half the time anyway)
All mods should be disabled whilst considering gameplay and balance feedback 100%. A shame that absolutely no one does this though.
I donât use any mods so I know my feedback is honest and untainted.
Current trapper mechanics are not ok, especially given that they seem to come in never ending waves of 2-3 at a time.
They really just need a cleave limit on that net, i know most topics here already talk about this.
The ai director has to spawn a rager party and a specialist conga line to have any chance at downing you. Trappers sounds get muted among all the overlaying sounds (idk how it works). I donât play with any mods aside from scoreboard and auto click but yeah i wouldnât blame anyone for running mods like the spider sense atm.
Not experienced silent trappers. OP is likely causing it himself with such a heavily modded client.
Not sure if thatâs the cause, i played with an unmodded client for a long time and spawn audio issues were always still there. Also the game is extremely unstable rn idk what fatshark did but there is lottsa lag and ghost hits ever since the last few hotfixes.
I experience silent trappers quite often and I have zero mods.
when I say silent, I mean silent until they fire the shot. There is often no warning whatsoever. No gun loading sounds etc. Then the sound of the net firing is the only sound you hear and of course that gives practically no warning at all. 1 second at best.
I use very high quality headphones when I play so itâs not hardware.
I experience similar issues with bursters and hounds too. Often the only sound you hear is their âattack actionâ sound.
Trapper just doesnât follow any rules. Doesnât have to announce itself or make noise. Shoots through solid barriers and any hit mass. Net range as long as it wants it to be. At this point Iâm concerned that Fatshark will never address this. If they do, theyâll only address the sound bug but not any of the other BS about the trapper.
I think that the trapper, in its current state at least, actively removes fun from the game.
Issue is also that once netted, you are magically pulled 8 meters into a pack of elites away from any team mate which can unnet you.
I agree, trapper needs some work. maybe limit how much the net can pass through or make it so the trapper needs at least some line of sight to shoot a net at you so they canât just stand in behind other mobs or gas and shoot you freely and unfairly.
Agree, being magically netted through a pack of crushers/bulwarks without the option to dodge is not fair. There should be a limit to the amount of hit mass the net can bypass, and the trapper should require line of sight on you.
Trappers are fine until the game starts pumping out more Specialists (and sometimes Elites) with unique sound cues than the game can actually handle.
Thereâs only so many sound cues that can be played, after that is when players meet all the lovely silent Specialists.
Damnation High Intensity on average is not bad for Silent Specialists, Auric gets a bit worse and usually requires smart positioning to avoid Silent Trappers. I can only imagine how bad Havoc must be, âeveryone huddle together under Sanctuary as we crawl through the missionâ probablyâŚ
At this point just make netted players untargetable by enemies.
Itâs the easiest solution, otherwise the density of Specialists must be reduced, tweaked and that would likely impact difficulty greatly with the current weapon outliers.
Well yes, itâs very frustrating when youâre doing all the right things, not taking hardly any damage and just like that Trapper nets ya from behind an object or pack of Ogryns.
