Okay but you get that my point is that when the people agitating hardest for ‘attractive faces’ post that kinda stuff, it calls into question what their standard is.
I get it, everyone looks like a crackhead. TBH I think the hairstyles hurt this more than the faces, they’ve got that Fallout 4 raider look. If you just want more faces and stuff that looks a little more generic so you can scar it up/tat it up to your satisfaction, sure, fine, you specifically may just want that.
But people got weird and showed their whole asses about it so now it’s not ‘they’re ugly’ but ‘anything that isn’t perfect starlet is unrealistically ugly to me’. FFS, the ganger on the splash screen looks like your average 80s punk lady and there’s people calling her a ‘harpy’ and ‘auntie’.
if its a screenshot from a certified 40k game, how is that not another viable representation of the themes depiction and style?
so far I’ve seen 2 games feature hive gangers and both looked way different.
how is darktide the “standard” then?
besides
is hardly asked for when someone mentions the face in question looks ugly.
having near 0 alternatives ingame as of yet (might not be correct on that one, but out of all female faces one is primarily picked) people get up in arms for getting asked for more options in that regard?
fact remains if I as a novice in 40k would browse over all depictions that are available to me right now and had to make a common impression, darktide would be the outlier when it comes to games released to date.
edit: just by chance youtube showed me a thumbnail, basically an enlarged picture of the face and there’s clearly lipstick etc smeared on.
so the fact some other reference pictures are “dressed up” as well doesnt equate the same “look”
guess putting lipstick on it aint the deciding factor
I’ll stop bothering to argue with you since it’s clearly going nowhere. When the class comes out everyone, including me, and you will buy and play it, regardless if it’s “unrealistically ugly” or “a boring concept” and eventually people will stop complaining just like they did with the Arbites. After all, the gameplay is what sells DT for many, not whether people look “attractive” to them.
If we could choose skin complexion (texture not colour) and had more hairstyles that would go a long way, some of the faces in this game would look pretty decent if it weren’t for the fact that it looks like they have a skin disease and the hairstyles just suck. I’m talking about both males and females by the way, the male faces are also ugly.
I get it. But sometimes players can’t formulate a proper solution, especialy with the things that have no proper metrics, vague and hard to grasp. And there is no need, it’s only the sentiment matters here devs should react on.
The whole thing also doens’t work with DT sub narrative and hero arc. You start as a prison dweller, ending up guards calling you “hero of atoma”, gazillions of dockets stashed, access to plastic surgery, gene modification and juvenile therapy Imperium can provide, etc. But you are still looking the same prison dweller. This is so off.
Weird example maybe but that’s why San Andreas CJ’s journey feels good, the complete visible transformation as a manifistation of social status changed.
I swear this forum is filled with little pansies lol. Can’t handle ANY type of criticism or ANYTHING going against their normal view. Don’t like what someone says? REPORT IT. Don’t like someone’s view? REPORT IT. Can’t handle reading text without being overcome by emotion? REPORT IT.
How about you all accept people have different viewpoints and learn to read and move on? The idea that everyone thinks “REPORT REPORT REPORT” is the normal thing to do now is actually hilarious. I can only imagine half of you trying to debate anything in real life. Someone has a different viewpoint than you and there’s no magical report button for you to press so you breakdown.. how sad.
Because an Inquisitor told them too. Hive scum is a common acolyte career prior to Inquisitorial service. Inquisitors like to work with crafty, ingenious people who know their way around a hive.
Any time a game manages to gravitate near the culture war going online conducted by all the idiots arguing about pointless imaginary stuff, any discussion descends in to brain rot, insults and flame wars.
Oh well. I see that a psyker can’t wear a vet’s outfit, but human faces should not be tied to a certain class. You have to buy the class anyway and you get more options for the existing classes too.
It’s hard to believe that even with a group of the emperor chosen and two IG legions assisting, the Inquisition still needs a bunch of addicts for support. If I am Grendel, I would never issue Ranick a graduation certificate.
