Fatshark, it's time to be diligent

Space Marine 2 is online. Judging from the current situation. Space Marine 2 gives a detailed updated roadmap, more diverse class options, and more weapons. The enemies are also more diverse.
If the Dark tide continues to update slowly at this rate, it will lose the race. The number of players will also be smaller, so Fat Shark should be working hard now.
The first is to boost player confidence, we need a detailed game update roadmap. Let us know the game update plan and the approximate time of implementation.
The second is to strengthen the in-game activities and stop using those materials to fool the player. We need better rewards to motivate players to play your event.
The third is to respond to the demands of the players in a timely manner (you are doing better than before, but it is still not enough).
Many of my friends have left the Dark Tide, and the future of the game is uncertain. All I can say is, fat shark, youā€™ve got to work hard, and the sooner the better.

APPLES =/= ORANGES

Also:
Both games can be enjoyed at more or less the same time.
Itā€™s not like you got to choose.

Of course I know, but the slow update of Fat Shark will no doubt greatly affect the confidence of Dark Tide players.

Not mine.

Iā€™m old enough not expect an update every 5 minutesā€¦
Some people act like heroin addicts.

Also why did you quote yourself?

Itā€™s not heroin addiction
It is a fact that the renewal of the dark tide is too slow
Darktideā€™s first update of the year, the Path of Redemption, is insincere
Itā€™s been almost three months since the last update, Secrets of the Mechanical God.
This new update also unlocks a new map and weapon talent.
We donā€™t know when the next update will come, maybe another 4 months, how many players will be lost in the meantime?
i quote myself?i quote wrong

Three month is nothing for the likes of me.

Also, may I redirect you to another two topics in THIS forum:

This game was never a Live Service game.
Having FREE updates every couple of months is okay.

ā€œPromisesā€ from other companies, what great stuff they have plannedā€¦

I donā€™t trust any ā€œpromiseā€ a company makes.
So any "roadmap"for either SM2 or DT is just paper to me until the moment I see the content downloaded & tested by me(!).

They announced their update for crafting.

Iā€™ll wait and see how that turns out to be.

I have no desire to compare this game and the way itā€™s handled to another,
hardly comparable product like SM2 or HD2.

It getā€™s pretty boring to see all these ā€œX will kill DTā€ or ā€œFS look at Xā€ topics pop up AGAIN and AGAIN.

You wanna go play SM2?
Have fun.
Maybe we will play some rounds together at some point, BUT that doesnā€™t mean that:

a) SM2 will turn out to be a masterpiece/better handled etc.

b) FS needs to ā€œlearnā€ from a game that hasnā€™t even been out for a whileā€¦
Who knows what those guys will do???

In short:
STOP with all the hype!

Thereā€™s no point in attacking me. Iā€™m not hyping anything.
You donā€™t speak for anyone, and itā€™s true that many players are leaving the Dark Tide. According to Steam statistics, Dark Tide players are now less than 5Kļ¼Œin this case do you insist: Oh, the state of the dark tide is fine.
This is Fat Sharkā€™s crisis time, I have played 1000+ hours of Dark Tide, and now I have rarely opened this game, and so have many of my friends around me.

Itā€™s due in 21 days.

I mean behind 9.26

Iā€™m not attacking YOU.
I ā€œattackā€ topics like this, which are IMO useless and go nowhere fastā€¦
I explained WHY I think that above.

I speak for myself and NOT for others, but I know that Iā€™m not alone in this:

Iā€™d rather play with 5000 diehards, than with a million casuals.
This game will stay alive with itā€™s core gamers.

Iā€™m not trying to brag, but since you brought hours up:
Iā€™ve 2000+.
I play with friends & with randoms.
I donā€™t care one way or the other.

I see no crisis.
This game had way worse times.
If you & your friends lost interest, thatā€™s okay.
But donā€™t try to act like SM2 release is more important than it is.

Sure lotā€™s of players will move to SM2 for a bit.
Other will not.

Some will return.
Others not.

Thatā€™s just how that is and always was.

Comparing FS to any remotely competent dev is a losing game.

FS has never been able to deliver things in a timely manner or working condition. They take forever to release an update, and sometimes even longer to fix all the previously working things theyā€™ve broken, along with new bugs introduced.

All that is made worse whenever they work on a console version (PS5 currently).

The reasons have been discussed to death since Vermintide 1/2: Incompetent project management, bad code versioning, chaotic internal structures & communication, ignoring community feedback, etc. etc.

At the end of the day they somehow survive either due to whales whaling MTX and/or investments like Tencentā€™s.

If you want a ā€˜completeā€™ non-cankerous gaming experience from a FS game you generally have to take the release date and add 2-3 years at minimum.

given recent matches i wholeheartedly agree.

right now i even add ā€œnot-toā€ matches to my uploads in the vain hope that, if not out of the live mission, at least in replays people see the ineffectiveness of certain behavior.

got stuff in the same map back to back, night and day difference all due to sticking or not sticking together at the final encounter.

seems rocket science to some.

More diverse class options ? Can we have that actually fact checked ?

And whatā€™s the weapon count for SM2 ? Even without considering variants Iā€™m not sure if SM2 will have/has more.

to be blunt, the quality of melee combat made by Fatshark is top-tier, and no other game can compete with it. However, the pace of content updates is very slow, and thereā€™s no roadmap either. If you love this game, you have no choice but to become a slave to Fatshark. Iā€™m one of them, too

space marine is releasing with 2-3 hours of pve co op content and a once and done 6 hour campaign. the classes seem to be a weapon pool and a choice of 3 abilities.

Ill pick it up because 40kā€¦ and it looks fun, but it also looks very WWZ , there just spamming the one melee combo per weapon and QTE for parry/riposte batman styleā€¦ thatā€™s not a very deep combat system compared to DT

be clear i think FS update pace is glacial and a constant source of frustration im not on a side here except ours as players. its good to have both but they both have issues

Well, even PC Gamer confirms that Space Marines 2 is losing to Darktide :person_shrugging:

Funnily enough PC gamer article is one of the few negative ones at this point in time.

Fatshark quick do something! Helldivers 2 will be the darktide killer!

oh am I late to the party?

Personally speaking, Space Marine 2 isnā€™t a threat to Darktide for me. Fact of the matter is that I play the 'Tide games because they are ā€œfirst personā€ shooters, not 3rd person. 3rd person create a totally different experience and (lesser IMHO) sense of immersion that I am just not interested in. Hell Divers 2 and Space Marine 2 might be the most awesome thing ever, but they arenā€™t even remotely on my radar to play.

I suspect larger numbers of more casual gamers, especially coming from the console side of things, are way more receptive to 3rd person and thatā€™s great and all - but itā€™s not for me.

OP, you said ā€œweā€ the only person you speak for is yourself.

Just because SM2 got a roadmap (how the hell did widescreen support not be day 1) doesnā€™t mean that you should get one from FS .

First time?
