I’m getting lag spikes(don’t know if that’s the correct term, game freezes every so often). During an expedition in the chaos wastes. Additionally, my fps is in general just lower, the fps drop’s are the biggest on cursed maps, and Holseher’s Tower.
Current game setting: High
Fps: 60, with drops too 40 - 35 at it’s worst
PC specs:
NVIDIA geforce RTX 2070 Super
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core Processor 3.60GHz
64 Bit
Ram 32GB
Windows version: Windows 10, 19041.928
Sienna played: Has no impact on my performance
Was lit lamp oil involved: No
Which locations do you notice this the most in: Cursed maps / Holseher’s Tower
Did your FPS drop after using power-ups, or right from the start?: Right from the start.
Despite my poor old toster being rather low spec by todays standards i have surprisingly not encountered any big performance problems. Just some minor FPS drops with Sienna involved and some when specials start bombarding the fields.
But nothing major which is a rather happy surprise O_O
Issues encountered during CW play, not tested in normal game.
32GB Ram / GTX1080 / 8700k intel CPU /
Sienna- Pyromancer / Kerillian - Shade - using new weapons
Random FPS drops during Tzeench runs from 120/60fps to 30-.
Experience what would be ping lag, but as host, delaying actions like pickup “E” and push.
Ridiculous spawn rates with Beastmen, Monk Packs and insane amounts of immobilizers spawning every second at some points- slowing everything down.
Hope it all helps- in spite issues… this expansion is amazing and y’all should be proud AF! <3!
Maybe a drop into the water but for some odd reason, Vermintide picked my integrated GPU (Laptop) with no Option to chose my RTX 2070. Had to force it via Nvidia system control.
Only found out via running the benchmark
What sort of FPS are you achieving? Playing on locked 60, drop to 40/30/20 depending on situation and location. So far worst drops were in Dome, got 20 fps there. Even tho the rest of the map gave me 50-60. Have you made sure your mods are disabled? This is important! Yes. Your PC’s specifications? 16 GB Ram, GTX 1660ti 6GB, i7-9750H. Your Windows version? ‘Settings’ → ‘About’ → ‘OS Build’ 19042.928, 20H2, Win10. EDIT: I’m aware of last windows update causing performance issues but thats not the case for me. Played the game with new win update before Chaos Wastes just fine. After the update performance went down really badly, some areas in the CW are unplayable. Didn’t play normal maps too much so can’t say for overall game performance. Was Sienna played? Which career? Onced played with BW in team, FPS drops were present with and without Sienna. Was there lit lamp oil involved? No idea what this means. Which locations do you notice this the most in? Screenshots of the worst offending areas appreciated! Dome, don’t know exact map or location. I think it was called Dome, got there famous 20 fps. Did your FPS drop after using power-ups, or right from the start? Some maps have stable 60 fps, some maps play on 40 with drops to 30 some maps play on 60 fps and have drops only in certain areas like I drop to 40 fps in one area, move out of it and have 60 again and then few minutes later I have 30. Not causes by number of enemies.
What sort of FPS are you achieving?
between 50 and 144. FPS drops significantly (often under 60) when fighting horde. Not having these issues on normal mode (before recent update). Settings are optimized to reduce CPU load (but not minimum).
Have you made sure your mods are disabled? This is important!
yes, this happens with and without mods
Your PC’s specifications?
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (overclocking to 4300 MHz max. when playing Vermintide)

Was Sienna played? Which career?
Happened with Kerillian, Sienna or Kruber
Was there lit lamp oil involved?
No
Which locations do you notice this the most in? Screenshots of the worst offending areas appreciated!
diverse, but i think Holseers tower was the worst.
Did your FPS drop after using power-ups, or right from the start?
Only during beginning of horde fight. When horde is reduced, the FPS return. There have to be a lot of enemies closeby.
Average FPS before the CW update was between 120 and 80. During CW runs FPS drops from 120 to the low 40s. Also FPS in Taals keep was between 100 and 130 around Lonars shop. Now it drops down to 80.
Never used any mods for VT2.
I7-9700, 32 RAM, Nvidia RTX 2080 SUPER.
Windows 10, 64-bit.
Bardin and Kruber but I suspect the others too have the same problems.
No, never had the lamp run yet.
Primarily during horde fights, lava locations, particle effects to some extent and fire, especially fire from the oil barrels (I guess Sienna may contribute aswell even that I didn’t noticed it). It may occur in other areas too but the game crashes often before we even get to the Citadel or the final maps/stages.
Didn’t notice drops when using the new potions but maybe when Sienna uses her ults that may cause drops (never had a Sienna on any of the CW runs I played yet). Depends if there’s fire or lava or a horde or particle effects from the start of the level. Open areas don’t tend to drop FPS, atleast from what I’ve seen. p.s. Normal adventure mode runs much better although there’s some change in the FPS aswell but not drastically as being in the center area of Talls keep or in CW maps/runs.
Guys i think some minipatch crashed the game. I played Chaos Wastes like 10 times yesterday and it worked fine. Today on 5 Chaos Wastes expeditions… i crashed 5 times. 2 times on citadel of eternity on Cata.
Gotta wait till its fixed lol. It crashes on random situations and maps, like when entering map, when entering portal… I lost 5 hours today.
What sort of FPS are you achieving?
I am achieving a constant 60-80 fps throughout Normal missions and 50-60 fps in Chaos Wastes, in some areas highlighted below even 35-45 fps. Using high graphic settings preset. I have tried lowering CPU-heavy/GPU-heavy/both settings, tried DX11 vs DX12, tried increasing the number of worker threads - nothing seems to improve my frame rate significantly in Chaos Wastes.
Have you made sure your mods are disabled? This is important!
Yes, all mods disabled.

Was Sienna played? Which career?
No.
Was there lit lamp oil involved?
No, no relationship between lamps and fps drops.
Which locations do you notice this the most in? Screenshots of the worst offending areas appreciated!
Holseher’s Tower: by far the worst performing area, 35-45 fps throughout the whole level except starting area.
Citadel of Eternity, both levels: 40-50 fps throughout the whole level.
Grimblood’s Stronghold, the arena event: 40-50 in the arena.
All cursed levels/final arenas: the curse visual effects drastically degrade my fps by 10-15 fps on average, no matter the level (Nurgle curse seems to be slightly better than the rest).
Did your FPS drop after using power-ups, or right from the start?
No, no relationship between power-ups and fps drops.
What sort of FPS are you achieving?
200~ FPS at its best and 200-150~ FPS at its worst.

Yes, Unchained.
Was there lit lamp oil involved?
No.
Which locations do you notice this the most in? Screenshots of the worst offending areas appreciated!
Holseher’s Tower. I don’t have any screenshot sadly, but I remember the worst drop of FPS was in the room where there’s a table with a chair, some bookshelves and a daemon picture (artwork of John Blanche). There was the Nurgle influence with the Shallya torch modifier too.
Did your FPS drop after using power-ups, or right from the start?
Right from the start.
My FPS are normal all around, the problem comes when I play the Chaos Wastes maps that have lava. There my camera starts to stutter and it also affects the sensitivity of my mouse.
I often play with 80 out of horde and can drop to 50 in horde. But in these maps I get less than 30 when near lava
I experienced this with both mods enabled and disabled
I got clear FPS drop since the update. It’s happening especially in Chaos Waste but I also noticed some performance loss on regular maps.
I got an RX 5600 XT, Ryzen 5600x, 16gb, DDR4 3600mhz and now averaging 80fps, I was at 110-120 fps+ before the update.
Game is running on high setting.
Our games didn’t have Sienna but I noticed the Khorne maps were those that ran the worse

The one I noticed the drop from 75 to 50 fps was Cinder Peak, there are few places that decrease FPS more and some less but the whole map is very hard on performance. I don’t know if Slaanesh’s curse affects it.
Probably the worst area in the map. Looking the way like in the screenshot it’s barely 50fps and looking directly behind me was almost 80. On other maps it fluctuates 65-75fps at most.
The other maps are 2 last arenas. One is for the Expedition of Courage (here with Nurgle curse):
Here FPS was was about 50 without enemies and with screen full of angry rats maybe slightly above 40.
The other arena I don’t remember the name but it was for the third expedition (one before the citadel), where the arena is in a snowy/icy region and there are 2 phases to it. One above the ground and one below the ground. Both above and under hit the FPS very very hard. From my normal of about 70 on all of maps to barely above 40. I only played it with curse of Slaanesh but other maps with this curse didn’t cause massive drops for me (apart of Cinder Peak).
Many other maps have varying degrees of bad performance but those 3 mentioned are by far the worst and make it hard to play, not only because lower FPS but because there is such a huge variance of high to low fps like on Cinder Peak.
One honorary mention of a map with problematic performance would be the Holseher’s Tower but I dodn’t have the chance to screenshot it or take a closer look at the FPS although I noticed that it plays worse for me anytime I’m there regardless if there is a curse on it or not.
Did your FPS drop after using power-ups, or right from the start?
Always right from the start. On previosly described arenas basically everywhere on the map while on Cinder Peak it fluctuated. Screenshot from the Cinder Peak is from few steps from starting position and it was a place and direction of looking that hit the hardest.
I know that looking at a lot of geometry worsens FPS but these kind of drops in performance didn’t happen to me before on other maps.
Cheers guys, absolutely amazing update, I hope we can get even more content for it in the future <3
What sort of FPS are you achieving?
Usually 55-60, but suffering heavy drops in some particular areas.
Have you made sure your mods are disabled? This is important!
My mods are enabled, but I don’t use either of the mods marked as causing severe performance drops

Was Sienna played? Which career?
Nope

Nope

In the following spots:
-Righteous Stand, in the 1st grimoire area. When looking in certain directions, my FPS tanked from 60 to 30-40.
-Holseher’s Tower (Chaos Wastes): When looking at the center of the tower, my FPS tanked from 60 to 30-40
-Arena of… Courage? The final map of the second expedition right now: My FPS were permanently lowered to 30-20. Map was cursed by Nurgle (purifying torch Curse)
Did your FPS drop after using power-ups, or right from the start?
No power-ups involved. In the first two cases, FPS tanked when looking in certain directions. In the last case, it was constant.
