Zero fun playing with a sienna

Now I get it. Beam staff isn’t OP because it’s OP only in one aspect. That’s absolutely understandable and logical.
Sorry, I’m just "salty because my favorite class got nerfed"or something.

Good try but your clever disguise won’t work on me knife ears.

All this talk about balance that amounts to bugs/unintended features of the game. Should give the devs some time to fix the issues.

It seems (almost) everyone agrees that the crit bug on beam staff needs to be fixed. I’m really hoping Fatshark fixes that first before nerfing Sienna into oblivion as they have with the other classes. From my experience playing on champ/ legend without the beam staff, everyone is pretty close in regards to kills/ damage.

My biggest fear is that pyro gets nerfed to bring her in line with other characters(assuming beam staff use, being vastly underpowered with another staff), then beam staff gets fixed and we’re left with 3 underwhelming and honestly unfun careers instead of just 2.

After beam staff is fixed we can look at venting and overheat mechanics and if they still need to be addressed.

Who gives a f… if clan/slave rats are getting mowed down by Sienna? Her kill count will be high and she’ll have done her job at clearing the weak chaff units so everyone else can desperately try and kill the 3 gutterrunner, 2 blight/leech, 2 globadier, 10 CW warrior, Bile troll wave that the director decided to shove up your a…

PS It seems beam staff crits are fixed… Can anyone confirm?

which is something the devs have said is not intentional and will be fixed at some point.

That seems to be the oposition to most balance changes.

It’s good to stay humble, isn’t it? Apart from that, not everyone plays the same builds. I even said, which combinations may be too strong.

Noone wants to lose power or change playstyles too much. It’s pretty normal i guess. As always, truth often lies inbetween polar opposites. :3

I don’t believe so. At high overcharge I still get massive overcharge dump on the beam staff with Heat Sink after feathering the beam to get crits.

At the moment I use:
Level 5: Natural Talent.
Level 10: Ashen Form.
Level 15: Blazing Equilibrium.
Level 20: Soul Snare.
Level 25: Fiery Heart.

Heat Sink on the staff is sufficient to empty overcharge at high overcharge levels.

i used the beam staff exclusively to level 30 then switched to the fireball staff to try out (i heard it was buffed before)

holy crap. the damage on that thing is huge. i was annoyed at beam staff slow dps, but this fireball staff is so satisfying. it has ranged falloff, but at medium range it wrecks unshielded stormvermins, any specials, and all regular mobs with 1-3 hits depending on toughness. charged attack can clear large stacks very well too, and this thing just staggers 90% of the mobs.

not that good for bosses, but imo makes up for it with it’s extreme versatility.

Beam blasting also wrecks stormvermins and from any distance. Even the shielded ones are not that bad as you can wait for them to flinch from beam before blasting. Only things I’ve found it doesn’t work against without constant headshotting are armoured bosses and chaos warriors.

I’m not sure if the effectiveness drops much when going to legendary from champion, but at least my team’s usual mage doesn’t complain about it.

it doesn’t wreck them, it cooks them slowly

Blast is when you press RMB when you have beam on them. Short burst damage than can one-hit kill stormvermins with headshots.

can you elaborate please, this is kinda conflicting for me

and yes i am aware of the beam + RMB which gives some kind of stutter, but i didn’t know it doesn’t that much damage

Ooops. Meant to write instant, meaning short in time. Sorry about that.

interesting, will try this out, thx

It kills SVs and specials with a single headshot or two to three bodyshots from just about any distance. With proper reflexes those three bodyshots can be done in about 2 seconds. Combine that short range shotgun shots and beam against distant mass of rats and beam staff can deal with almost anything.

I am pretty shocked at the amount of people who think Pyro Sienna is perfectly fine or even weak. In a world where Huntsman Kruber and One Shot Saltz weren’t ok I can’t imagine a world where unlimited ammo, no weakness Pyro Sienna is even close to ok. Just using bolt staff and not even the clearly broken beam staff I find her absolutely bananas and would take 4 Sienna players if I could. Having the ability to shoot forever non-stop and an incredibly powerful ult on somehow the lowest CD in the game make absolutely no sense.

Overall reading over this entire thread its like every comparison is, well so-and-so is so much better at this one thing he specializes in then Pyro Sienna who isn’t even specializing in that thing and is the 2nd best in the entire game, so shes perfectly fine actually she needs buffs. Or the classic because you have to play around the strongest character in the game making the run 10% longer at most shes totally useless since that slowdown really affects your farming since I clear every legend perfectly all day with 2 grims, 3 tomes ez with all the amazing players I have access too that speed run 24/7.

Lets just get real, the entire Heat mechanic in this game is just not balanced currently and most weapons produce WELL below the heat they should and certain traits (cough cough -4 heat on crit) are about 4x to strong.

You didn’t read anything at all.

Weaknesses have been given:

  1. Low hp.
  2. Can go boom easily (prior to lvl 25 talent)
  3. Other staffs besides beam staff are bad and beam staff itself has a weak left-click attack (tried that one?). It just smolders enemies a bit so you need 3 seconds of continuous firing to kill a basic skaven.

There are bugs:

  1. Beam staff permanent crit on hold.
  2. Swapping between weapons is clunky and can easily kill you. Either by getting hit during animation loops or casting spells unintentionally and blowing you up.

There’s unbalance:

  1. lvl 20 temp hp on crit + beam staff crit bug = op… fix the bug, problem solved. Talent itself might not be the problem here.
  2. lvl 25 full exhaust on ability use that can be spammed is apparently too strong (I’m not lvl 25 yet) and makes using strong staff attacks all day possible.

If we want to get real: the game is too buggy to do any meaningful balancing.

So you don’t think the changes to huntsman and bounty hunter were meaningful?
