ZERO excitement

Pretty sure I’m not the only one but not sure I’m one of the majority (number of player gained and steam review score will tell, pretty sure they will go up)

But after reading the patch notes I only have one feeling, DAUNTING. Because they added so many new weapons and knowing that I can never get even one with desired blessings and perks on top of the stupidly low chance of getting a lv4 blessing, the update just doesn’t excite me at all…

I am happy that we get new weapons… I will try the shotguns for sure.

BUT

I am totally upset that several BIG bugs are not fixed for several weapons. The bug affecting the Rashad makes it an useless weapon.
The bug affecting the shovel with BM is not as bad as the one of the Rashad but it remove the possibility to use it with BM.
These bugs are well known by Fatshark and for a long time.

Can’t understand that they release new weapons with such bugs on the ones we had.

There can’t be more than 15ppl working on Darktide right now, for a whole month’s work, these updates are very underwhelming, so they can only focus on adding new stuff to bring new players and cash, old issues even like poor rng will likely be left untouched almost forever…I am very aware of this thats why I’m so sad…

why not ? ive collected about a bunch of weapons with t3-4 blessings and perks i want since the last patch

just wished we knew the extent of the drop beforehand i only bothered banking mats on zeal and psyker

Honestly, it’s better and sooner than I expected. But knowing RNG, I won’t rush to experiment with new stuff.

Because you need to start with a good weapon. I wasted 220k dockets when I logged on and didn’t get a decent Deimos with over 355 rating. Its still the same game underneath lol. Now I have to wait for the mods and game add ons to sync again.

Aren’t you quite the defeatist?
It’s pretty simple, you head over to Brunt, spend the 8000 or so credits to get a singular piece of every new weapon → Try their moveset and attack patterns in the training room.

After that you will have an idea which you really like. Now try to gear up one or two of the many items (pretty sure you will gravitate towards very few of the many new options).

It’s easily doable. Don’t know the new khantent.

Even easier, don’t bother with the terrible power sword variant, fast firing Stubber or Basher club. Everything else seems sort of good if not a power creep, but those are hot garbage easily.

Gonna point out that Brunt’s Pride has a combo string from the special, a unique punch that does great stagger and better damage than a shovel punch. It also has 3 amazing light attacks with a faster cancel than standard bully and can open on the big swing normally. It is the power crept shovel/club fusion I feared, but no one plays Ogryn. Hilariously both Ogryn clubs still have broken headshot hit registration, is this ever going to be fixed?

Agrip Shotgun is easily the winner of the bunch, you should see what that slug shot can do.

Yea, I read the patch notes just now and they honestly look great. This seems to be a really solid patch with very sensible changes. The problem is that I know that the underlying structure of the game is still busted and there is no reason for me to go back and play. The chance of getting the cool items I want is so low that it isn’t worth my time to try.

I feel the same way. Patch looks great, but the “crafting” system is stopping me from wanting to re-install the game still.

Yeah, this update vas really good and brought good quality of life but for the content… i guess i’m gonna see in around one month or so when i have the mats for it if i’m lucky.

You know you can buy a White one from Brunts Armory and take that for a test spin…

Of course i know that, i have alredy tried it but a profane weapon is gonna perform much worse, not really useful to test the weapon, all that is is good at is checking the moveset.

I mean sure, but how does that make me want to log in to do weeklies?

You could have something cool in Melk’s milkshop.
It gave me an option for the new Blaze Sword V for instance.

Try the long range shotgun the alt fire is fun

Yes, emphasis on “could”. This game doesn’t allow me to make an informed decision about whether or not pursuing an item I want is worth the time it would take, because I don’t know how long it will take or if it will ever happen at all.

Consequently I just don’t bother to go for the “long game” in Darktide. Too much uncertainty.

well just to be clear i dont like RNG systems id much rather we had purely determinstic systems, brunts armoury should let you buy whatever rating you want , blessings should be unlocked with tokens of varying amounts earnt by completing missions etc.

but the ability to spam purchases did make it possible to find decent roles , Velk is a decent source of t4 bless’s it has got a lot easier since the blessing patch
Think i have made 7 weapons 370+ with the correct two blessings i want at least t3 which is a lot more than i made before.

the system did let you try out every new weapon in the first 12? hours

im not saying i like the system or that its “good” but it is a lot better and

really just isnt true anymore , sure it relies on too much rng it might cost too much or be too slow wouldnt argue with any of that but it has improved

Havent had a full chance to test it out as I spent all my mats on the new t hammer, but I do wish it was just a full slug shotgun rather than it just using an alternate round. You think the shotgun is good besides the alt fire?

LoL

“All you have to do is go through 100 loading screens, memorize their moveset, stat distributions and modifiers, buy a dozen copies until you get a decent one, roll the dice on the upgrades and pray to God that your materials aren’t wasted and bim bam whamo, you got yourself a usable weapon”

Oh what fun we’re having!
