Regarding the update

Quite a superficial opinion. I’ll wait for the Coldfix. Yeah and I’m too lazy to grind weapons for blessings.

  • Maces.
Meh. Very mediocre damage. Fun special attack, but nothing more. I don’t see them being viable in builds.

  • Bolt pistol.
Not bad, especially if you take some blessings. I would have taken it in my build, however, since they slightly reworked the bolter-weapon firing, replacing the boltgun with the bolt- pistol doesn’t make sense to me anymore. But overall, it would be a cool option in some builds.
It has a special attack, and if you immediately fire a shot after it, there’s a cool animation. Here’s if they added a melee weapon + bolt pistol to it, something along the lines of Victor’s weapon from Verm2. It would look more fun.

  • Double-barreled shotgun (Hi Doomguy).
Not bad overall, but the range leaves a lot to be desired. In my opinion, it is also quite viable in some builds if you take the necessary blessings.

  • Pick-weapon for Ogryn
Only one pickaxe out of 3 I see as more or less good. It reminded me something of Bardin the Engineer’s hammer from Verm2. Same attack pattern.

  • New map.
Not bad, not bad. I was expecting terrible optimisation, however, surprisingly it’s fine. The map is beautiful, the tasks for reaction speed - I liked it. And yes, hello barrel at the beginning of the level, I played this map twice, and the first time that barrel made a team member immediately fly into the abyss, lol.

  • Special thanks for adding the voice listening feature for cosmetic helmets. I didn’t think it would be introduced so soon.

Well, what to say overall. I didn’t set any high expectations for this update, so I was quite happy with these crumbs. I will wait for changes to the weapon creation system, balance, etc.

What do you think about the update? Were your expectations fulfilled?

P.S. Oh yeah, they still haven’t fixed the knife animation in the hub, meh.

it was aiight

The new weapons are a giant snooze-fest for me, I’m not loading up a 40k game to play with pickaxes and double barrel shotguns, and I’m not quite sure why Fatshark chose skip over the dozens of other cool unique 40k weapons just to include content more appropriate to (and far better represented in) Fallout or Red Dead Redemption.

New mission is always appreciated, can’t hate on that.

Honestly the single biggest thing out of this update for was the Recon Lasgun changes. Night an day difference in the usability of these weapons.

My feelings are play the new level once or twice and shelf the game, maybe uninstall until next time…

I couldn’t even be bothered coming back for it
I uninstalled as soon as they announced the itemisation delay

The 40k lore nerd in me couldn’t resist the 20 minutes it takes to complete the new map. But I agree with you, it took longer to install than complete the new map  , for a free update its serviceable… 2 new maps a year seems to be the standard for FS with darktide.

Even then, if they DO fix the locks, break the chains and rework the crafting system, is the game too far hollow to have players come back in droves?

i love the tazer maces theyre really fun
