While not perfect, still excited for the update tomorrow

Just to emphasize: I know there are problems with it, too much rng etc etc. I don’t want to start any arguments over it.

But it will get me to relaunch the game for the first time since last year, and I think that counts for something. While there are still things that I personally hate about the game (cosmetics very high among them, for paid vs free etc.) I’m hopeful this might bring some of the fun the first few weeks of playing had. It’s definitely an improvement but we’ll see if its enough to keep me playing for longer than a week.

Also if anyone has any suggestions or experiences with a fun/good evciserator I would love to hear it, as ideally thats the weapon I’d want to start building up to.

It would appear the armoury has already gone through a numbers change. It seems to almost always give 1-3 items of 370+ base power level on each character for the past few hours. Probably in prep for the patch tomorrow. A welcome change, though the fact that it was so easily changed without a patch or a server restart, makes it even more annoying that they didn’t do it 3 months ago as a band-aid.

Yes, I did get a 380 bolter, however, as soon as I acquired it, its level dropped to 374, ugh.

374… literally unplayable.

Yes, unplayable, 1 of the blessings does not match my build, but that’s not the point. It was written 380, however, on purchase, the number became 374, what the meh?

Eh… Still not enough to bring me back. I’ve been itching to play more, but then the thought of grinding through the same maps and ‘modifiers’ kinda kills the mood for me, especially after weeks of playing DRG and interacting with their progression system. Feels like trading in a Ferrari for a rusty Honda Civic.

The ‘update’ really doesn’t add much for me. Still stuck in the same soul-draining gameplay loop, but now with better ‘odds’.

Once they add some weapon accessorizing/modification (huffs hopium), more content (maps, enemies, bosses), and/or that thunder hammer overhaul, I’ll jump back in. But by the sounds of it, I’ll be waiting somewhere between 1 year and an eternity.

Yeah the patch is really only about delivering a core system that has been completely missing, and should have been there at launch. It’s not at all ‘new content’, they’re just (incredibly slowly) trying to finish the base structure of the game. That all systems have been designed to be atrocious, and they seem to be sticking to their guns, is really sad and unforgivable. They’ve had 3 months to rework the rework of the crafting system, but they have clearly only had one idea the whole time, and that idea was RNG. To create systems that would actually make their players want to play, seems to be an alien concept to them.

It is what i waited for for a long time.
The update seems great for me cause I will be able to get several really good weapons (and in future craft new ones)

Now my concern is the balance that fatshark has chosen between materials in missions / crafting costs / odds to get a good weapon from the new shop / cost of a grey weapon.
This will be the difference between pleasure and frustration.

More plasteel baaaby.

I have a feeling that the update won’t be enough (based on what has been said previously) but its at least something and if they actually keep updating it, it might reach its potential eventually.

But actually being able to acquire the weapon bases you want instead of waiting week(s) for shop to give you nothing but garbage (and guns only for psyker) is honestly pretty massive for me.
If those bases ever turn into something usable, well i got enough material accuired to try this few odd times when the patch hits so quess we will find out.

Its more like the high water mark for completion the game should have shipped at. Well, that and the deed/booster vendor girl sitting across from Melk, who we’re still in the dark about. Maybe she will get her function added some day as well. Kinda sad it took 100 days and 3 blogs.

Now we can maybe add those guns that have insignias in the files but aren’t part of the game.

What is going on under the hood where it can’t even get basic addition right? There seems to be a lot more weapons lately that the game says has a base rating different to the sum of the stats. Rounding issues?

Ehh?

I mean yeah it’s the bare minimum of a crafting system but I don’t have hope about the precedent this sets since it took 3 months and from the look of it only partially fixed a lot of the issues.

It’s probably going to be another year to get anything significant content wise and I think the original estimate of monthly content drops was way to optimistic.

Yeah it’s nice I bought way more items yesterday, so the patch is coming really tomorrow? Catfish confirmed on discord or something?

Great! Thx!

The sad part for me is the dog beta test we were stuck in for a month and change that still hasn’t materialized into any changes to dogs in game. I’m debating on uploading this clip where I get pounced by a dog mid-Ogryn charge with the long distance feat head on and die almost instantly to the surrounding enemies, soured my night of since I was kinda looking forward to playing more.

holy crap its 90min from now!

i’m cautiously optimistic. wanna run some numbers with the new systems.
