Wow, so i've heard people using mods from nexus mod

it’s so much fun

I don’t start the game with out checking if that got updated or not xD

Can’t wait for the devs to steal it, reskin it and act like they made it because we all know they are gonna try that with atleast one or two mods given time

jus cuz youre handicapped doesnt mean we have to be as well

i was surprised how OP cheating mods are, I believe that people should be banned for using mods

Not OP at all. Obviously many of them are technically and morally cheating, but there’s degrees to cheating so that word in itself doesn’t say much. The most offending of these do stuff like:

  • Add flashlights on weapons that don’t have them, letting you see in the dark when you shouldn’t. Some people like to point out that it’s ok because only the modder can see the flashlight. Which is a weird defense, since that means they’re the only ones in the team to benefit from it, making it even worse. :joy:
  • Autofire / recoil control lets you turn any weapon into automatic, or control the bursts on automatic weapons so each shot hits with high precision.
  • Enemy healthbars makes it a lot easier to spot enemies in general, lets you spot which enemies were just knocked down and which are actually dead, and ofc. lets you see the breakpoints in the chaos of combat so you can easily focus down low hp priority targets.

Etc. Most mods are much less intrusive to the game however, mainly adding QoL things like blocking while chatting, that numeric UI you mentioned that lets you know your own and the team’s ammo (game only tells you if someone has 50% or less, so without the mod you have no idea if someone has 51% or 100% ammo for that big bag you just found), True Level which lets you see how experienced someone is with that character and so on.

Obviously they are technically and morally cheats by the word’s dictionary definition, but like I said in the start, people tend to overreact and confuse cheats like QoL for using god mode and autoaim in PvP. They are no the same at all. I haven’t modded Darktide myself, but that’s only because I just haven’t felt the need to bother with it so far. I have nothing against the people who use them and play with many on a regular basis. The advantages of mods are ultimately so situational and minor that they don’t make up for skill.

Personally I’m glad that Darktide has a compromise where people are free to choose. So modders get what they want, while the rest of us don’t have to feel like we’re forced to get them just to compete. :upside_down_face:

Try the Qol mod pack on nexus it’s a 5min install that will change you’re mind on using them

Nah. I’m used to the base game by now and idc about most of the mods anyway. Chat block would be fun but even then idk. I just don’t wanna bother. Thanks tho!

The mods fix the game and put that stuff that should be in the game imo.

I think it was the other way around and the whole attachment and weapon system was just “deactivated” in parts.

You summarized…
Nothing complicated in installing mods when you use steam
Don’t know for gamepass… Someone could confirm if it is possible.

You should be surprised by how bad is the darktide interface and how many things darktide lacks
Like a scoreboard, 3rd person view option, a good interface (i really prefer what I ise actually that is really efficient) etc.

And now, while you’re there, think that modders are just players that have given time to provide community tools that have should have been implemented by fatshark
At least for a lot of them.

Huh?
You mean this? Warhammer 40k Darktide Vortex Extension at Modding Tools - Nexus Mods

yep thats it…

It’s not really accurate to call it "homebrew script " considering you can can update Vortex in Vortex, it’s exactly what it says it is, an extension. The behind-the-scenes content is irrelevant.

Vortex Install (Easy)

In Vortex, locate WarHammer 40,000 Darktide in the Games tab.
Click on the game tile to manage it and install the extension as prompted.
Click the prompt to restart Vortex.

Here, you need this more than I do. It will give you anime happy emotions:

I read your other posts on this forum and I felt a little bad for you since apparently you’re deaf and can’t hear specials like trappers or bursters. Just wanted to let you know there’s a mod on nexus that displays a message when a special enemy (like mutant or poxburster) spawns. I think this mod will give you what you’ve asked for in previous posts to this forum and hopefully change your view on mods, especially the Quality of Life mods. Most mods are such QoL mods and the cheat mods that do exist aren’t numerous or widely used.

Here’s a link to the mod: Spawn Feed at Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Nexus - Mods and community
