Wow, so i've heard people using mods from nexus mod

I didnt know that was a thing, you can install amount of useful mods like checking other people’s how many ammos they left which is stupid, add crosshair, 3rd person view, etc… so many useful stuff! I’ve been playin without mods with no problems, but geegee i was surprised how OP cheating mods are, I believe that people should be banned for using mods

I believe your opinion is bad

Can you explain how you think it’s cheating? For example for seeing other people’s exact ammo and health I think this is exceptional especially if you are just doing public games, as its much easier to see who needs a med station or ammo pickup, even if you don’t want to talk with others in game.

As for how “OP” they are, I really disagree. While certainly helpful and maybe conferring a slight advantage, it makes the game much more fun to play and is not super effective. For example, I change the crosshair for the unbraced plasma gun because it is absolutely horrible and imo makes the gun harder to use than it should be. The only one where maybe I would agree with you is healthbars, but even then I have a friend with not great eye sight, and that mod really helps him play the game and be very effective.

Fatshark has made it pretty clear that unless a mod is actually, fully cheating, as in changing the behavior of the game rather than just your personal perception of it, they aren’t going to ban mod usage. Nor should they, considering the amount of quality of life mods there are that Fatshark haven’t implemented into the game themselves.

Someone found you stealing ammo eh?

Betting they got chewed out for eating all the ammo and still bottoming out the scoreboard so now the mods are supposedly the problem.

Wait, are you complaining about people using any mods, or just the cheat-y ones?

Yeah they’re unnecessary advantages other players can’t replicate if they’re too tech illiterate to drag and drop downloaded files/own a console (basically the same thing). But its also a horde killing game where people unplug and kill lots of stuff. So I don’t really care, and also do it myself…

I’m gonna just ask: How exactly is it a problem if people see how much ammo other players have or improve their game feel by actually having proper iron sights? Are you playing against them so it gives them an edge? No, you aren’t - you are playing a PvE game in which some players use mods to improve their own feel or knowledge of the game. Since rewards are shared, there isn’t anything you lose by playing with them. Hardly cheating.

Another poor guy who can’t not register a nexus account.

You can even use the Vortex (Nexus) Mod Manager to do updates semi-automatically even for free version (edited for clarity).

Nexus makes management a lot easier by marking updates but it isn’t required. You can just go straight to the modders’ discord channel and get them from the source.

This makes the las pistol one of my favorite weapons to use, whereas it is ordinary absolute pain after a day of work. Very QoLy to me.

Health bars are the absurdly unfair advantage, especially running a high damage option you know exactly where your kills are all game and no one can even come close. But the heretics don’t mind, this isn’t PvP.

I meant update mods semi-automatically via free Vortex Mod Manager, not the FullAuto mod (edited it for clarity).

But yeah I started using the FullAuto mod for Las Pistol as my finger was going nuts and I see a bible cyst forming from it.
Previously I had it off because it allowed run’n’gun las pistol at optimal fire rate (by design).
The QoL mods are really really helpful.

To OP’s point though some 1 or 2 mods a are…sketchy. But I have no idea how lookin at other ppl’s ammo is an issue as it is more helpful to team play seeing numbers, you already see their color coded ammo level. Well some ppl seem to see it.
The health bars one should be disallowed outside meat grinder imho, I take issue with the 3rd person mod as well.

How terminally online everyone here is yet cant spot an obvious bait post

Its easier to ignore obvious griefing and discuss things instead. Like I probably would have just given up on the game like Fat Shark had for about a year had it not been for mods.

If it wasn’t for mods, I would have stopped playing this game.

The mods are the answer for Fatshark’s bad designs. If they didn’t deliver a barebone product then we wouldn’t need mods.

Some of the people still remembers the first great design on weapon properties. Basically the whole game is like that.

What a clown take

Also the amount of mod i use: currently is 37. At this point vanilla literally unplayable for me…

I have to start looking into this. The fact that we don’t have a scoreboard is just inexcusable, but that topic has been beaten to death.

A mod that would change the game would be to have ammo boxes have ammo rather than charges. The fact that the same box can provide 4 or 4000 bullets is just beyond insane, especially when the charges are not made visible somehow, as they are in Deep Rock Galactic for instance, Rock and Stone.

This is not a valid argument though. We play for the challenge and if mods remove that challenge then that would be a problem. I’m not saying any mods you’re using do that, but just that this argument is not valid in general.

Yeah, this is the reason I haven’t started using mods actually. Just one bridge to far. I’ll get around to it some day.

Agreed. These two should be banned, but not the others that have been mentioned in this thread.

Your’s or the OP? :stuck_out_tongue: I just spend too much time here repeating what I’ve already said a thousand times before.

Wow, 37… ok, I’ll need to look into what’s out there.
