Nub krub here. Recently got my huntsman to 30 and I have to say I really enjoy it.
I do feel that the talents are a bit lackluster. They don´t quite seem to fit as well as other classes do. And of course he is very restricted in what main weapon he uses (longbow).
I headshot plenty of specials mid-horde. The chaos knight mid-horde and boss comes to mind.
Why is this a problem? People seem to be arguing that since huntsman can’t headshot 100% of the time he should be given blanket permission to bodyshot. That’s riddiculous.
On a SPECIAL KILLER CAREER, to get ammunitions, I should shoot corridor horde. IMHO 100% nonsense… at this point, “nerf” Huntsman removing all /passivetalents about arrows recover (a little step toward a ranged meta capable to do only its role) and give him something else… but guys, just opinions ^_^"
-rolls eyes- oh boy. here we go again. in the other thread, you latched on to devs saying that this is a ‘melee-focused’ game, and bashed on ranged weapons as if the only playstyle everyone should adopt is melee.
now for some reason you have this notion that huntsman is a SPECIAL KILLER CAREER and should ONLY KILL SPECIALS and NOTHING ELSE.
seeing a disturbing pattern of taking things too literally. this is a game about adapting.
in v1, hordes were great regeneration fodder for regrowth, bloodlust and scavenger. in v2, it’s pretty much the same if you build for it. they’re great for ammo and health sustain.

You should be getting more kills and damage as FK if you are wave clearing. Huntsman will destroy you in elites/specials killed and boss damage (the green circles that matter when you play him)
No one should come close to your numbers as huntsman right now aside from maybe a good shade. A full charged LB shot pierces 6 rats, thats if you run conservative and the talent 18 ammo returned per shot, so you can decimate an entire wave in seconds for free. Headshots instakill storms, headshots on CWs with active instakill, and headshots with active do about 10% of a boss’ HP, now add in usage of pots and you have no significant disadvantage to FK in terms of melee waveclear…
And agreed, anyone claiming foot knight out-damages huntsman hasn’t played with a half decent huntsman. Evidence? The best melee weapon, halberd, is just good because its trying really hard to be a ranged weapon.
