When do we get bigger guns!?

Stubber, Hellgun, Longlas, Meltagun, Rotor cannon, Stub cannon, Autocannon, Heavy Bolter, Heavy Flamer…

When?

Give Ogryns a power fist. That’s all I ask.

I don’t think Heavy Flamer will happen. Like it doesn’t really fit with Ogryn for me.

Also what about heavy melee weapons ? Chain Glaives, Force Halberds, Hunting Lances; Ogryn 2h weapons…

Give him a melee weapon with interesting attack combos for sure.

Some of these could be fun, but for some of these, I’m not sure they really have a purpose or don’t heavily overlap with existing weapons.

The scariest meanest bosses this game has are tabletop equivalents of large infantry/minor characters, Traitor Guard captains with Refractor fields, Chaos Spawn, Plague Ogryn, etc, while outside of that it’s basically cultists and traitor guardsmen. Not sure what purpose a Meltagun would serve against such targets aside from being a Plasma Gun with half the range and half the rate of fire, it’s prowess in heavy armor penetration really just doesn’t have any space to be expressed.

What would a long-las do that a Helbore MkIII doesn’t? I think that’s an issue where Fatshark went a little too far on trying to differentiate too many sub-patterns.

Uhmm never? Unless it already has a VT2 counterpart easily aset flipped ? :3

What do you mean? A Heavy Flamer for the Ogryn is my dream from day 1.

Hah! New weapons? They can’t even give us communication, and that sounds like a lot of work. What do you think they are, some kind of video game developer or something?

Not that I’m bitter.

Flamers aren’t tough/reliable weapons, which is what is needed for an Ogryn.

Ogryn in the ranged department should get: Multilaser; Lascannon; Autocannon

The rest would have to be “invented” but Flamers, Plasma, Melta don’t really fit the simplistic brutal Ogryn

Maybe when fatshark finally comes home with the milk

And that’s a big maybe

So Heavy Flamer is not “simplistic”, but Multilaser and Lascannon are? Ok, lol

Yes, one is a chemical thrower and the other are upgraded Las weaponry

A lascannon is quite a bit different to a lasgun
That’s like saying a anti material rifle and a m16 are the same thing

But a Lascannon to an Autocannon isn’t really much different, it’s like a Lasgun to an autogun.

While a Flamer to either is much more complicated, so for me it doesn’t really fit, wouldn’t be overly against it, but I wouldn’t really want it either

I read the title of this post in an ogryn voice.

Also, psykers need bigger staves!

Sad Noices

If we’re talking about Ogyrn guns I’d love to see Autocannon, Lascannon, Multilas, and Heavy Bolter. Heavy Flamer would be neat but I’d rather see something like that go to the Zealot, or at least buff the Flamer they already have so it’s actually useful again.

Don’t forget the Volleygun and belt-fed stubber for the lil’uns! Could also give Veteran this Rotor Cannon too.

Flamers have exactly one (1) single moving part and that’s the valve controlling the fuel flow. It can’t even jam, the accuracy being compromised is a non-concern, and accuracy in general isn’t a concern which is ideal for Ogryn.

By comparison, fully automatic shotguns have a LOT of moving parts, and irl are known to jam a lot because of the action struggling to properly move the heavy shells. Emperor knows what would happen if you went around smacking the kark out of people with one.

If anything, a flamethrower would be MORE reliable than a shotgun just because it literally cannot jam unless the nozzle is physically blocked or the whole thing becomes mangled beyond recognition.

ogryn aren’t allowed flamers because an ogryn with a flamer is going to smash things with it until it breaks. a lascannon breaking is a ruined lascannon, a flamer breaking is usually an explosion.

regardless i wouldn’t expect bigger guns in general, darktide missions are about low-profile insertions, not heavy assault.

You said you wanted more shovels? The most iconic 40k weapons, unfastened folding shovels that pierce Carapace armor more effectively than Plasma and a Thunder Hammer?
