Now that it feels like all the major glaring issues with the game are pretty much solved, what would you all like to see next out of darktide? I love the addition of havoc mode, I can’t wait to get in there and try for level 40! That being said I wouldn’t be upset it a chaos waste mode were to be added as well as some quality of life stuff (rager fix, game audio fix, magic trapper nets, a little better optimized etc.) but other than that I’m not entirely sure what I’d like to see. Maybe a 4th skill lane for each class, new weapons sure. What are some suggestions you have?
undo patch 13, restore the old trees, and start adding new classes
jokes asides, what’s next is stagnation, unless they finally move forward with the tyranid invasion
something similar can be ok, but i hope not with the randomized perks and stuff because it was kinda boring from that aspect. not a fan of 1hr game session also.
i’d rather have some sort of twitch mode that can be turned on with fun stuff
reworking specials to make them more spicy/adding more mechanics to them would be cool
and new maps, new enemies, new bosses, new special conditions as always.
I think that Fatshark really wants to continues the story of Zola and Wolfer, so they will add more of Special missions(They talk a lot about how they want to make more narrative stuff). And they started making more of those special conditions like Mutation and the 21st, so I would expect to see more of that.
Also more weapons, maps and a lot of balance changes. Perhaps they will change how paid skins are sold, I think that is pretty close because the prices become more and more insane.
Maybe more gamemodes, and after all of that, maybe new class, but that’s unclear and probably wouldn’t happen for a couple of years for sure.
Generally, Darktide’s future seems much more stable than it was a year ago when we were all scared that the game will die pretty soon, now it is pretty bright with Havoc and the new Teaser Trailer.
Personally, I just want Darktide to become great, I want to see those reviews go up!
maybe they can increase the price of the skins while also giving us the ability to earn aquilas through the gameplay would be more than fair
but now yea, they are kinda pricey and very often having clipping issues or just being a reskin recolor.
Well, although it is unrealistic, this is what i would like to see in terms of gameplay.
Missions in the other hive city centered around how it has been overrun by genestealer cults.
So basically a whole new enemy faction.
Also, on a more realistic note, a new character arch type or at the very least new skill trees for the existing character arch types.
New weapons.
The Rogue Lite element was the main part of CW, not sure how it could be implemented without a boon system (Probably heavily themed on Meselina)
How does the price increase make it more likely/close ?

I am wrong about this being correlated with prices, but community outrage is very much still going(from the very launch of Darktide), so they might change how shop operates because of that.
But still, this is just a speculation
boons were ok, i meant more for the randomization of perks on weapons, which was a thing in CW. because starting with grey weapons, then when you upgrade them, you have random stats which imo is not very fun.
having upgrades or sometimes bad upgrades as boon system was okay
I didn’t dislike that system, forced you to try different stuff.
But I think they will have to find an alternative manner to it anyway, simply due to the weight of the possible inventory comparatively to VT2.
Which I have previously touched upon
a game that forces you to try stuff you don’t want, imo is bad.
and to be honest, the majority of people as main strategy, were just picking their main weapon and upgrading to the forge only. sometimes the game mode may offer a random red weapon early, but most of the time, it is also good to conserve and waiting for the forge, unless you have very bad rolls and then you may try.
the randomization in cw also was not much of a problem, the only very good stuff was attack speed, block cost reduction in general. but even if you were not getting the right combination it was still viable in the end, and most of the “blessings” in VT2 the only best viable for almost all weapons was swift slaying… builds were mostly due to the right combination of boons + talents of your character (those also counts in-game), and never because of the randomized stats of the weapons imo.
in dartkide, not sure because some blessings/perks are kinda mandatory on certain weapons unless the boon system will be good to compensate those weaknesses. saw the seller in DT for CW maybe could work. to me is way more fun when the rogue lite aspect is only tied in the boon systems.
In order of my preference:
- new maps
- make Moebian hordes modifier permanent
- new enemies
- huge content update for commissary
- new maps
- new weapons
- new maps
- new archetype
- new maps
- new maps
- NEW MAPS.
The next significant change I’d expect to see is the curio update, hopefully we get some more interesting build choices out of that.
Following this with gear acquisition much more predictable there can be some meaningful balance passes. Possibly around the launch of Havoc mode. We’ll see where FS wants to take things.
Really hoping, like many others, that some of the more interesting event modifiers make their way into the game permanently. That doesn’t seem like a big ask, and there’s been heaps of appetite. Fingers crossed!
They should remove all of them and only leave hunting grounds and sniper gauntlet

Felinid catgirls. Either as a class or a monster hunter-like café for food before missions.(Buffs included). You can just tip like in DRG and go broke giving them your life’s savings.
Map/modifier selection, massive balance pass, fix spawns, make mission objectives actually interesting, make captains not a complete joke that die within 1 minute and can’t even attack a single time, fix framerate and crashes/disconnects, stop splitting the players up between multiple new modes/mission boards, make the orthus offensive (and the new rinda mission) into an an actual mission and not an already existing mission copied with half of it missing, add some actually good skins to the shop for a decent price, make the paid shop a catalogue not a rotation, add actually good free skins, and a modded realm so modders can do all of this stuff for fatshark
The only thing it’s reasonable to rely on is new maps. Probably get map selection at some point.
If breaking the locks is the final step in 1.0, then paid dlc is next. I don’t think they are going to revist the host of issues they could tweak to modernize the game to give it a wider audience unless they make a sequel. Too many people have written the game off to introduce cosmetics and seasonal content or the like, not that they could keep up with it anyway.
Maps, modes, and enemies have been stated as free before.
There is only weapons, branches and class/archetypes (FS really ought to remain with Arche instead of renaming it, would help so much with the people posting that old Dev blog about classes every 3 months)
And both weapons and branches have atm been released as free (as to the third, no idea if itll even happen)
And how long did it take to get them? Look at the playerbase and how slow the shop rotates. There aren’t many true whales here. Even with the release on Playstation, just how much money to fund development do you think is left on the table? What’s the point in releasing single player with bots or a new class archetype at this point? to fulfill their campaign promise?
