What's coming up in Darktide

If you look closely you’ll see the cover armor is actually exactly this - red shirt and goldish eagle on silver plate.

A little disappointed that my recent posts were confirmed. Talking tough, being fed illusory scraps, and then begging for future scraps. Wait for the content.

Good news is I think with more penances, skin variety, a third crafting revamp, and the skill trees near final, we can officially expect early access to end with a full release early next year!

Oh, wow. Can’t wait for this.

I’ll be sure to find some time when I get bored with playing Helldivers with their active updates with new content and dynamic evolving story and their good communication with the player base.

Just stay there fatshark, we’ll be back soon™

Continue doing things with biblical times, each update messing up more stuff than you fix (looking at the recent vermintide 2 patches that totally broke waves in an attempt to fix a bug in it, for example) and listening to your community only after whoever egotistical idiot is leading this project lose interest and allow the rest of the team to actually do what the community ask.

I’m sure it will be fine.

Sorry, I forgot, when are new maps, equip and classes going to arrive? We are a bit late on the first quarter new class announcement but I understand that when you are a company managed by incompetent leaders, it’s hard to deliver what you promised.

I am not sure if I am going to be optimistic about this. It’s all just fancy text. We’ll see.

Don’t ask when. Timetables and such won’t do you any good. The important part is the details of what and in what order.

Who put that rng in the game at the first place and why ? I feel the desing intend are overruled by reality… Oh well we see what fs cooking…

My utterly baseless prediction is: since shared resources are big W for the community FS don’t dare to touch that so plasteel and diamante stays as resources… ( Might be introduced a 3rd one )…

Items can be recycled for materials…

Emperor gift are boosted so 1 ranged 1 melee 1 and 1 curio drop with crap perks / blessings, so the devs can skew the material distribution to the end game loot instead of the map pickups… (Lost game still hinders you but picked up materials are not penalized)

Brunt sells you only grey base

Mommy hadron bit pissi cuz the community cokblocked her favorite pass time Wich was bricking near perfect grays so now every price quadruplets… 4 time… 1 blessings application cost 25000 plasteel and 10000 diamante

But the real deal is Melk…! Now he has perfect god rolls but the catch is he is now run an auction house with limited wear (2300 pieces at max strangely the exact number as the lowest player count so far and as a passive aggressive fukyou from the upper management toward the player’s) if you bid for an item and you lose melk dose not refund sits and act as a major resources sink hole…

My hands are starting to twitch after seeing the same silly question being asked over and over, not gonna lie :joy:

I’m sure some could read my comments and see a devolution. Soon I’ll just say “Tree”

The talent tree was promised on launch.
They also said a NEW class will arrive each quarter.
Instead we are 16 months in for continuous feedback that crafting f-cking sucks, and ONLY NOW are getting a word that it is finally getting an overhaul

Got a link? I don’t recall this at all.

They did say new classes, but they did NOT say Archetypes.

On launch the Archetypes were:

  • Ogryn
  • Veteran
  • Psyker
  • Zealot

On launch the CLASSES were:

  • Brute
  • Sharpshooter
  • Psykenetic
  • Preacher

The October class rework added effectively 8 classes to the game, combined with the original four, for 12 total classes. But instead of these classes being silod into their own exclusive talent tree (like careers in VT2), they were merged into one big talent tree for each Archetype.

Had they rolled out one new class per quarter, we’d maybe have 8-9 in total right now. Instead we have “12” with the ability to multi-class.

Of all things that Fatshark has ever done post launch for one of their games, the combined skill tree was among the best.

Note on language: The term “archetype” was also scrubbed in October and now the “classes” are just Zealot, Psyker, Veteran, Ogryn

Fatshark has made no official promise or pledge to add more classes (aka Archetypes) to the game. Although that hasn’t stopped speculation for something like a Ratling or Tech Adept, etc. Would love to see that but there is no word on that.

I wonder if this means that I should stop checking the store every hour… hmmmm

Well said. As a 40k fan that plays a lot of 40k games, Darktide is very much S-tier (I also liked DoW2 :face_with_peeking_eye:). While not without flaws and a not-so-great-launch. It is in my opinion one of the best games on the market. Nothing else delivers the same horde slaying sci-fi futuristic mayhem like Darktide does.

Heretical_Cactus being a God Emperor forsaken prophet once again.

I love Fatshark’s work, which is why I am ever so dismayed when they do not reach their potential. In the end they do come around and they actually never abandon anything early if they don’t have to.

It deserves a lot more credit than they actually get. Few studios nowadays give +5 years of support for their release. That’s Valve esque dedication.

Skullbreakers.

And they still use Archetypes in the Penance tab and in the Prem shop iirc (no access to my pc atm)

They’ve already said that there wouldn’t be new PoV, as the maps are made with 1 degree of difference in mind (So either we had Squat and/or Ratling, or we had Ogryn)

Neither on new additional branches (Which is what they had promised, without specifying a total number)

With this added caveat:

Still remain that Ogryn/Psykers/Zealot/Veteran were never classes and that the only reason people got confused on the subjected is that DnD erroneously use Archetype for sub types of it’s Classes (Where Archetype is a broader way of refering to something, so either you would have Berserker Rager and Berserker Wild Magic as same archetype but different classes; or have them as same classes different sub classes, where they would be in the same category or archetype as other martials)
