What the f*** is this?

I can tell you it’s stopping a lot of players.

Yes and what is your point.
We all know it takes too long to get “what you want”. It is what it is though.
So should I obsess over 1 weapon I NEED or play around with the ones that are dropping and I have some interesting blessings for ?
Again, you do you, but it seems, you take your stand point as a PoV of most players. Ppl have other much bigger issues with the game than a perk or bless on a weapon.

Oh, I know all that and I’m not acting like Brutal Momentum T2 is useless (though, I’ll be replacing it with BM T4 and keep Limbsplitter).

My Psyker has, like, 4 different godroll Combat Axes to choose from and I’m not really too upset about getting this one. But the thing that makes me roll my eyes is that Consecrating a weapon to transcendent quality CAN GIVE a tier 2 blessing at all.

IMO a tier 3 Blessing should be the minimum you get, because that would be, at least, somewhat respectful of someone’s time- and resource-investment when upgrading something in the Hadron Lottery. I know you don’t actually need any upgrades (never mind T3 or even T4 quality) to play the game on Damnation, but that’s not the point.

Spin it however you like, but the point is that it’s bullsh*t. It’s a terrible system that wastes players’ time and resources. RNG is toxic to some peoples’ sanity and I’m never going to stop criticizing it.

I agree the system is terrible. The VT2 system was terrible but infinitely better than this by comparison. I just think it’s a matter of there not being enough content and they are trying to hide that fact behind RNG and grind.

I disagree with the statement “it is what it is”. I don’t think we should just accept anything and everything as “c’est la vie”. Toxic player retention should be discouraged and even boycotted. Pressure for change. Especially those that felt deceived coming from VT2 or DRG or other horde shooters in general and instead getting a stingy looter shooter with free to play levels of grind.

I would agree there are other issues sure. The biggest issues is general stability and performance/crashing. Stability of the game should obviously be priority number 1.

However, the second biggest issue I would say is progression. Why bother pushing out new classes or new weapons if the grind is so bad it disincentives people from playing the game? If resources are siloed and I have to start at level 1 again with no resources, I think a lot of people aren’t going to care to try out a new class as much. New weapons? With the “drop” tables and how hard it is to get a blessing combo on a weapon you want it’s sorrowful to even think about the long road of work ahead of you.

Not to mention in terms of effort, fixing the grind would be an easy technical left if they just put in an option to remove/swap locks on weapons and curios. So yeah, I think it is a priority for a lot of players and would cause a lot of new players to want to play and test weapon combos out with different configs. Even if resources stayed siloed it wouldn’t feel as bad with that small change.

Then I would focus on new content. Especially more free cosmetics.

The point is it’s a bulls horn issue for “perfect items”. If they don’t matter and don’t offer a chase/player retention numbers then just make it easier for people to get them across the entire player base.

Or two, they do matter, and the devs know and are actively encouraging players to chase them through various techniques, and they DO matter, and everyone has every right to be upset with how impossible it is to chase them.

In either case, it’s bad and should be changed.

And so what? Advertisying is not children playing in the park, you need to properly advertise what you sell.

For final time, I do not disagree with you, yet it is a response to the thread and specific issue of the OP.
I do not believe ppl should be lying to themselves and if they do not enjoy the game cause they cannot get what they want, just give it some time off. Come back if FS improves things.
If you are beating your head against the wall expecting to finally get your godroll, knowing how rng based it is in this game , you are not doing yourself any favours.

Well all you need is a look at Vermintide to know that loot progression will be bad from the get go. As for what you thought or expected, feel free to take it up with FS, but don’t blame it on false advertisement, if you have an evidence in front of your eyes and still play the casino-tide, expecting different results.

I play maybe 5 to 10 games a week on damnation.
I have so far gotten 0 upgrades for my main weapons since the crafting update.
I did get a singe curio upgrade but after about 40 games of dam I got a new auto pistol I use and 0 braced auto C Axe 5 evis flamers chain sword upgrades.
All my best weapons are from emperor’s gifts before blessing swaps became a thing.

I think I disagree with the “take some time off” and hope Fat shark will just improve it on their own. They intentionally designed it this way, so I think talking about it, giving feed back, and applying pressure is what you would want to do to hopefully get some commitment for the change. I think if everyone just waited and didn’t do anything, nothing would change.

I’m convinced that crappy blessings are the biggest problem (but not the only problem). Some perks aren’t far behind. Not getting the exact perks/blessing combos you want should be enough RNG. Getting lower rank perks/blessings should be enough RNG. Having perks/blessings that, at rank 4, aren’t half as useful as other perks/blessings is too much.

Getting 3/4 in perks and 3/4 on blessings on any 360+ weapon should at least feel like something worth testing out if you don’t already have that combo. There are just too many ways to brick a weapon at the moment.

Man I already did, from day 1, I also gave feedback of lack of reliable sources of weapons on classes, so we can at least try all of them while lvlng, rewards for mission completions etc. Feel free to check my history. Some of it FS fixed, some of it still needs a lot of work. Again in this discussion I am focusing on the thread and the problem. So if you cannot fix it yourself and have to rely on FS, then I am sorry but it is wait and see. Wether you take soem tiem off, lower expectations or smash FS with 1000 threads about the same, pick your posion. Just do not hope for diffferent results under current systems, that is insanity.
I think you read a bit what you want form what I am posting. I am not here in defense of FS or its current system, still why ppl stubornly expect to have their perfect rolls is beyond me.
Additioanlly beside couple of blessings that are tier gated, there is not much of a difference between T2, T3, T4. So maybe, just maybe it is conceivable to relax on that topic a bit.

Just in short, the OP saying fat shark should fix their game, and that the crafting purpose caused frustration for them, likely to receive some support or agreement or feedback, or even just empathy from venting, I just feel saying to “relax” or it’s not as big a deal, or other things need to be focused on isn’t as helpful.

I am not making any claims at you in particular. I don’t know what you have or have not said. But if the OP wants to smash FS with another thread, I am game for it. Maybe too optimistic that the pressure would cause what’s already noticed to gain more traction or support but here’s hoping. Maybe I am “grinding” on the forums to remove grinding while I continue to stop playing the game in protest.

Well I am not, because it is wail of a crybaby, both the topic and the argumentation (lack thereof). There are tens of threads that deal with it in a better way, with some data, some examples and reasoning for why this is frustrating. Here it is just a cry of I am pissed. It might as well have been the first item they upraded… and the outrage. We all have our opinions and cool if you want to add to it, but I do not believe that any CM will treat this as serious post. Maybe I am wrong but you probably thinks so too. In any case, interesting discussion, thanks @brosgw and good luck in getting your items, Emperor Provides

You are seriously thinking that this is the problem and that’s why you came to share your wisdom here? Wow.

Edited: I would also like to kindly thank whoever reported this post after 4days. I’m sure it wasn’t the person I replied to and with whom I had a decent conversion later on.

No, I got here cause ppl blow it out of proportions and it is smallest issue for this game. Imho of course. My response was directly to @brosgw comment. Nicely taken out of context. Thanks for feedback

Vermintide 2 was bad but you are guaranteed to get what you wanted sooner or later just need to grind a lot. Is not what i thought or expected, wich is irrelevant, but what they said it would be and what they actually did after i alredy bougt the game at full price.

Oh, I would love them to learn from their own mistakes and actually implement better solutions, I am there with you. You are right that now in VT2 getting oyur roll is achievable after a lot of hours in (still requires ton of re-rolls), but I can assure it was not like that at VT2 launch.
They seem to do the same botched releases of their games, every time sadly :frowning:
I think most would agree, that the game(DT) in current state should be a minimum on release.

Well, I read a lot of your replies and I think that the sentence that I quoted can summarize them all.

You seem to be actually offended that the one issue that most of us find the single most awful aspect of the game is being repeated and that many of us dislike the very notion of the looter that this game is trying to be against all the other elements it has. I mean, fine, I for one find ridiculous various attemps at pleading or negotiating with FS, but I definitively don’t think I belittle other people’s opinions and I certainly hope I don’t seem to have this aura of offended self-righteousness that I feel coming from you.

Yes, all of us know there are other issues. At first, I personally thought that at least three of them were far worse than the item system, but what can I say, it took time, but the item system managed to climb to the very top.
