But arent you excited for the new weapons with great base stats you’ll be able to brick?

You’re just not seeing the ‘hidden potential’ in the staff! Just look at all that ‘hidden potential’ staring you right in the face! It’s all right there!

…Someone tell me what’s the hidden potential in this staff please.

The only ‘consolation’ here is that there are no good blessings for this staff anyway. The perks are a real kick in the teeth, though. Just goes to show what kind of design FatShark is more than happy to inflict upon their customers.

And yeah, even high 370s items will routinely consecrate with T2 blessings and T2 perks. The entire system is actively hateful towards the players.

It can be saved

Which perks/blessings do you want on Trauma?

Was under the impression Trauma isn’t effected by anything.

Presumably they rolled that TIER 2! terrifying barrage by consecrating to yellow and that’s what they’re mad about. I do understand, in my quest to get a good shotgun I recently upgraded one to yellow and got not only a bad blessing but a T2 one, which just feels silly for upgrading a good base to yellow.

That said for Trauma warp flurry is by far the most impactful blessing so they can still very much save that one.

Dear FS, just say no to the complainers. We will get the ineffable design one day. Or die trying to.

I recently concecrated a profane Antax Mk5 to transcendent. My first Blessing was Limbsplitter T3. My second Blessing was Brutal Momentum T2.

I lol’ed.

I don’t even know what I"m looking at. The stats and stuff in this game are so bad. Nothing is readable or understandable.

Its a nearly ideal base-stat trauma staff with:

  • 2 bad perks
  • lvl3 perk: 8% against groaners and walkers is MEH
  • lvl 2 perk for %6 against specialists is worse

this forces the player to re-roll the level 2 perk and accept a meh level 3 perk that he would otherwise want to replace.

  • 2 level 2 and bad blessings
  • Terrifying Barrage is basically useless on trauma staff since the AOE blast is big enough as it is that suppression isn’t of value.
  • brittleness is fine but not great and its just a level 2

so he went from a nearly ideal staff to a brick, essentially. Just by leveling it up. Something he paid resources and time to do. The only hidden potential he revealed in this staff was smelly garbage.

Yeah, this is the thing right? In VT2 you could just keep rerolling until you got what you wanted. That’s still a bad system, but at least it’s playable.

My ideal system would be what they had in Winds of Magic. Just give me one of each weapon type and let me upgrade that and slot in and out things that I want. I don’t find selling trash to vendors even remotely fun.

It’s definitely not a brick. Reroll specials to unarmoured and terrifying to warp Flurry and it hits all relevant breakpoints with close to optimal blessings.

Not defending this system but also don’t want OP to think they should throw this in the bin. It can still be made into a pretty excellent trauma.

And the number of combinations is not such that you would not get there within a reasonable time spent. Provided you don’t target the undocumented forbidden combination (VT1 has a lot more of those, at least on reds).
