the only when at full stacks part really bugs me. you only really get that far if you fight a few scattered pox walkers then something else. they should at the very least make it 2% attack speed per stack.
they should make both first tier upgrades work per stack, add the last tier to the actual keystone and give something else for the last tier, maybe weakspot damage?
Iâd like the infinite loading to be fixed.
I know for a fact that after 5 seconds if Iâm still seeing this, itâs an untruth!
I think I would like more enemy units. A whole 'nother faction, if possible. Preferably, some new baddies that will work together with the Scabs and Dregs. Like a whole fleshed-out faction of daemons to reflect the devolving situation on Tertium or the appearance of the rest of the âDarktideâ itself, with the arrival of the 6thâs Noxian masters to reflect the dire state of the greater strategic situation.
If they could drop a Genestealer Cult in the Hive, I think that would be fun, and they could even have parts where as you go through the mission they could be fighting each other as well as you.
Fighting an actual genestealer too would be f-ing awesome. Theyâre so damn creepy, especially the new pale/white ones!
TBH, at this point I would take anything and plenty of write-ups have been done to show what GSC units could work for which roles and all that.
But I would prefer a faction that is on the side of our enemies. I saw the whole opposed enemy faction thing in AFTE and it was neat the first few times, sure, but, in the end, it just kinda slows everything down and takes the pressure off the players which, for a game like this, is just kinda anti-fun. People already complain endlessly about smite. Imagine if every time the two factions were on screen theyâd just ignore the players and shoot each other while you lazily line up headshots. The devs have done well with the baddie AI in this game and could probably come up with something a little more engaging than that, but any way you figure it, itâd still take heat off the players.
Iâd also like to avoid the Soulstorm-levels of plot contrivances it takes to get all the various factions brawling over one forsaken and crapped-on little system. So far weâve had a coordinated uprising paired with an attempted military coup all orchestrated by the followers of one chaos god. They have two readily-available allies near at hand in the setting thatâs been established: the infinite hordes of daemons that can be summoned once the division between the Material and the Warp becomes thin, and the unknown xenos from Nox Alpha who are believed to have been involved in the corruption of the Moebian 6th. The âNoxiansâ are particularly a threat as they have burst forth from their final hold-out on Nox Alpha just as the Domain recalled many of their forward deployed troops. They have retaken multiple systems setting back the progress of the Fringe War by thousands of years and contact has even been lost with the heavily-fortified Naval garrison-world of Komaris. Their forces are believed to be within striking distance of the Atoman system so it would make sense for them to exploit the beachhead their human quislings have established for them and make an appearance.
I guess I like the idea of that logical progression rather than âunbeknownst to all, the fighting has triggered the defense instincts of the local Genestealer cultâs broodlord who has now sent his minions forthâ and then âunbeknownst to all, a wandering Ork Waaagh happens into the system and thinks it looks like a fun fightâ and then âunbeknownst to all, the Dark Eldar decide that now is an excellent time to raid some slaves for their villainous and hedonistic designsâ and then âunbeknownst to all, an Elkdar Farseer has had a vision that the outcome of the Battle for Tertium may well decide the fate of the entire Eldar race and has dispatched all forcesâ and then âunbeknownst to all, Atoma Prime was secretly a Necron tomb world this WHOLE TIME! dun dun duuuh . . .â and then " . . . " and then " . . . ", etc.
Know what I mean?
A simple miscommunication.
FS is a Swedish company and VT, VT2, and Darktide were all programed using futhark runes. This has some advantages, but itâs why these days the Stingray engine is used almost exclusively by Scandinavian developers, such as FS and Arrowhead.
Anyway, the single disadvantage to using futhark in computer programming is that there isnât a set way to represent numbers. One common method, though, is writing the first letter of the number if it were written out as a word, and âfourâ and âfiveâ have the same first letter even using futhark. Thus the miscommunication.
IIRC, using the first-letter system, there are only 7 runes to represent the numbers from 1 to 20.
For how pervasive this problem is, note VTâs âUbersreik four. I mean five.â
If you think about it, this explains quite a bit about the game, especially the sometimes fuzzy weapon balance. With damage or ammo figures a mistake doesnât mean the code wonât run, just that - for example - the DS becomes OP, because, perhaps, a planned multiplier of ein (1) was instead entered as ellifu (11).
We get Arbites Cosmetics and just run around with Shottyâs and Power Mauls. All is good class done.
Iâd like to see a combat shotguns rebalance, along with a balance pass on a lot of long forgotten weapons, like the shredder auto pistol.
Also, Iâd like to see the some new skins to the dockets outfit bot.
Melk was made irrelevant by the crafting update, Iâd love to see him have a role to play in an update to trinkets.
I want to see fatshark revisit loner, maybe make it a buff that lasts a limited time outside of coherency to encourage people to return to the group. Come up with ways to combat people abusing spawn caps for speed running.
The train map is fun, I want sweet breaching mission for the next operation! Letâs get on boarding torpedo!
Iâd like to see havoc given a quick play option for ranks 1-20. No idea how it would be implemented.
I can see where you are coming from, but GW would not let them do something like that, remember GW has the final say on everything, how about this, have the GC as a modifier, at X% in a mission or between X% to X% the GC turn up kill every enemy that is still on the map and then going forward they are the enemy you face.
What are you specifically talking about here?
As far as being a modifier, I think that having them be announced would take away a lot of the randomness and fun of the gameplay. If I were to do them, I think I would make them an ambush-only faction. If you ever played VT2, there would be times, especially on the stretches between areas where thereâd be no ambients but then youâd hear the Skaven slaves whispering and suddenly theyâd all rush out of every hole and cubby screaming their heads off. Something like that rather than battle lines and stand-up fights since they tend to be guerilla fighters using hit-and-run tactics. Maybe introduce some GSC-only maps once the story progresses and we take the fight o their turf rather than them coming to ours.
At the very least have them occupy their own separate areas of the map like Skaven/Rotbloods/Beastmen did in VT2. The Scabs and Dregs kinda do that a little bit but it isnât nearly as delineated in DT as it was in VT2. I guess it might be a natural effect of them working more closely together than, well, the Skaven working with anyone, lol.
But introducing them would still be an âout of left fieldâ development with the setting that I wouldnât care for. Maybe an in-depth, well-written event that introduced them would help ease them in but weâve had ample opportunity to start teasing their existence so far and have nothing more than âPossible xenos sighting in underhive area.â on the PA.
